@rahagbab i mean, that i wish i had the balls of the arabic people, they are coming to their senses and they dont sit down and whine, they do something about their fucked up government
@TheCaptainjuicy Yeah, getting beaten up by your totalitarian government for not dressing properly, getting beheaded for adultery, hating everybody that doesn't worship the same god as you, we should all be this lucky.
And if you think they're fighting valiantly now, just wait until the next time they elect a bloodthirsty dictator.
yeah, cause all Arabs and Persians are like that, right?
And seeing how somehow foreign armies seem to have a knack at invading their countries to bring them "freedom", "yeah right' or threatening and invade them, piss on bodies, humiliate them in their country, it's surprising some of them have a mild disliking of the west. I know you like to tie it all to religion, but many people around the world have plenty of reasons to dislike the west without religion even being a factor.
on top of that most of these dictators and regimes were set in place by the west or supported to stay in place by the west. Then in the end when things go wrong and revolt starts the western leaders act as if they want the people of any given country to have "freedom" again "yeah right"
i'm not into that whole hate each other thing, i hate ppl for personal reasons, not religion or skin color, but thot id let ya know rage is an israeli freedom band originally - doesnt that clash with yall's hatred for each other? just a question.

I'm an american and I completely sympathize with your statement. and I know many americans think the same. "he who forgets history is doomed to repeat it". Our electoral college leads us unwillingly blind. We need to stop thinking of ourselves as countries and more as all brothers and sisters in this globalized state which is brutalizing the human race
@Sedatedfarm I'm not an american. But before the Americans start building a better world smewhere else, they should solve their own problems. The US has a very high poverty rate, not as bad as in Iran, but why dont the americans solve that, instead of starting a war 10000 miles away?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Freedom for Iran? You people are clearly stupid. The coup and demonstrations were stirred up by US-CIA influence. A person who cannot see the truth deserves to be enslaved and demonized.
Unfortunately, our President here in the US just legitimized this tyrant today by saying he's the elected leader. Know that the vast majority of Americans strongly disagree with that statement, and hope that Iran will have freedom soon.
interesting choice using Rage Against the Machine..."..the number one freedom that you and I have is the freedom to enter into a subservient role in the workplace.." we are all slaves to this machine, WAKE UP
Your point well taken. It is good to live in a country though, that allows you to dream beyond what is available to you. In Iran, people are still dreaming of a day to be able to dream. Lucky you who can freely express dissatisfaction about an imperfect system, nonetheless the best available in today's world. Iranian people tried the alternatives, and look what they got. Iranians know what is the issue and what they want.
The occupied regime is Israel. Fuck israel. I don't agree with alot of the things in terms of the Islamic Republic/revolution whatever, but Ahmadinejad isn't as bad of a person as people portray him as being, thats just american propaganda.. i dont know why the fuck ahmadinejad denies the holocaust.
@IranUnited very true, but we should also be careful to see the invisible bullets like bad vaccines or poisoned waters. peace to the loving world, faith only in Yahweh.
Remember, it is not Religion that is the issue. It is the perversion of religion to gain power! And all the religions out there are about Peace, Love and respect for each other so how our leaders can turn that into "Kill all who are not like us" shows you what I mean. So yes! Death to the leaders who rape religion for their own gain!
Unfortunately the people of Iran and the people of America have the same problem, too much government, however the Persians have the upper hand in that they realize their situation while people here in America are fattened and entertained in our bubble just enough not too care. I pray for the day that Americans will fight for their country and inherent god-given rights the way the Iranian people have. We are currently living in a defining era for the fate of humanity.
Those who fight for freedom in Iran may be for bigger government or smaller government. This is not an issue to divide them. Big thing you see there is not governing anything. It is controlling people and keeping the regime in power. Moosavi and his supporters believe they don't need that to stay in power and can stay in power only with the support of people. On this, I agree with Ahmadinejad. Regime can't survive without enforcers.
Now let's hope for a peaceful solution to end Islamic regime.
The protests were not about Khameni or toppling the government. Mosavi if he was elected or if he is elected next time will work within the Iranian system. And how much of their poor economy do you think has to do with the global recession ? And you know aswell as i do that opec controls Irans oil prices so wtf ?
The people of Iran found their excuse to express their discontent with their regime with this election. You are absolutely wrong when you say it is not about Khameni. It has everything to do with Khameni. The chant of "Death to Dictator" in the streets is not referring to Ahmadi, it is referring to Khameni. If the media asks an Iraninan who the chant is referring to, they will say Ahmadi because they dont want to die. Irans economy was crap even before the global recession. Are you a basij?
"price of oil quadroopaling during ahmadi's time however, unemployment and inflation increasing" this is why i responded to you, "Irans economy" was mousavi going to wave a magic wand and make it all better. Iran has no control over its oil prices only if it flows or not, dont you know this ??
If it wasn't about Khameni, do you think protests would have continued after Khameni's Friday sermon declaring that all protests need to cease? Rafasanjani has stated that his committee holds the right to change the Supreme leader and that Khameni needs to step aside. Furthermore, Iran does not control the price of oil and does not refine its own oil, but the price of oil skyrocketed during Ahmadis regime & economy tanked. He decreased interest rates by 10% overnight. Read between the lines
The regime does not want wealth in its society. A wealthy population means brighter, smarter, less religious people who will question their regime. It is in Khameni's interest to keep the population of iran poor, stupid and religious in order to stay in power. As a student of Iran, its history and the Revolution of 1979, I have learned that the people in power in Iran will do whatever it takes in order to stay in power and retain its culture suitable for the return of the 12th Imam.
When an economy is tanking and the Governments main source of revenue is not taxation an investment in public work projects is a sure way to create a ripple effect in recovering and stabilizing an economy. This is Economy 101. What has the Iranian Government done with this revenue, hid the money and invested it in nuclear development. Wouldn't you think refining your own oil should come before nuclear develop? Its like a caveman trying to go to the moon before he knows what a wheel is.
Maybe they just need a bailout stimulus package for the mullahs. All governments are inherently evil by nature whether based on religion, power hungry bankers or whatever idealogy. The best government is less government. A governments sole purpose should be to protect its people, not too take away their freedoms and control and manipulate them.
That is a very well laid out synopsis of it all. Education is really the key to most of the worlds ailments. Or as Voltaire said "There will never peace in the world until the last king is hung by the entrails of the last priest"
That sounds like what I got out of the people protesting. What we saw was a powder keg that has a small fire next to get a little out of hand. I think that Keg still stands ready to explode! I can not stand it when people let their religion get twisted by one sociopath and just take what ever he says as the truth. Catholics and Christians have all made the same mistake. We still do. I am Catholic but I woke up.
Let me make one more correction to my statement. Americans are disgusted with the Saudi Government and OPEC, and the Chinese Government, not the people who just want a better life and want to see their children grow up and be happy. That is a major division never made by our state run medias. I think the people of the middle east are extremely tough and equally intelligent!
Lemmings, You can love your country and hate your government. You can love your religion and despise its leaders. If you want to knock me for being an American who feels for the people of Iran who want freedom from the Devil then have some intelligent criticism instead of assuming I am some how involved with every decision my government makes. A lot of people on these boards like to use big words but have no friggen brains at all.
But that coup was never about installing a 'puppet'. Mossadegh never intended to undermine the monarchy. In historic context, this meddling was never about aborting the democratic aspirations of Iranian people, it was about a 'real politic' choice between a pro western coup and pro soviet coup. Mossadegh democratic government -and I don't speak for anybody but myself- couldn't stand a chance there in my view. That's one tragedy among many, in the long history of progressist movement in Iran.
The Iranian people want liberty, modernity and democracy. Let THEM decide whether it's Westernized or Easternized.
But your point about the oil is correct. But in Iran case, it was never about oil, or if it was, it was in the context of a much more important issue: the cold war.
President Obama apologized about the coup in 53 (at least it was understood that way) and this was welcomed by Iranians. That historic event also had a major role in what followed in 79. (500 is up I post another one)
This regime was never about freedom - democracy. But Khomeini was lucky enough (and smart enough) to be able to capture the support of all Iranians who were asking more freedom and democracy. This regime was an anachronism from its concept and therefore fully geared to its own survival from the beginning. So questions you ask are not about what this regime intends to do. It's about how people push forward their needs despite this regime and what is available to them. This is a daily question.
Despite the flaws of the regime...they are a stalwart to show Middle Easterners that they don't have to be hapless to Imperialist Hegemony. Modern Iran now is hope for people everywhere, maybe not some spoiled Iranian kids, but to the rest of us. If Iranians themselves don't support Iran, I will.
You left out terrorist supporting. Because when you are silent you must support everything done in your name. As to those in this video and others on here crying out for freedom, I want people like this to live near me.
I understand very well what the US or Britain has done to promote its power in the Middle East and to gain some control of oil. There were and are people there who sincerely want less theocratic and more Westernized ways of life. The politics of oil and wealth has corrupted more than one nation's choices and foreign policy. I applaude Iranians for their desire to control their own destiny. I wouldn't trust the barons of oil in the West or East. But to choose this was insane. But what do I know?
Most of the people you see in the images weren't even born during the Shah. So let me reply.
No, it is much worse. But even the son of Shah doesn't want to go back to what it was before. The seed of this terrible reactionary regime was planted in full speed authoritarian modernism push which was never democratically discussed therefore never properly digested by the society.
I'm old enough to remember when the Shah fell and Khomani returned to Iran. He was welcomed back with revolutionary ferver then. The people were ready to take their country back. Ever since Iran has been under the mullahs. Is this then a push for greater democracy? More freedom to do what? Be more Western and open? Less authoritarian? I presume this isn't a rebellion against Islam, but against theocratic authoritarianism, manipulation of the news, and repression of individual liberty?
Let's hope, because believe me nothing what Imperialist regimes want than to have another Puppet Government in the Middle East.
remember Saudis are way stricter than Iran and they're America's favorite puppies...yet no one ever cries about them
You never see Keithgeorge07 disavowing his government for keeping allies with such people. Sometimes what we don't see tells us more than what we do see.
Mahmood42978, If you only knew the disgust the American people have for the Saudis, the Chinese and all the other PIMPs I think your jaw would drop. Don't be ignorant and confuse me for my government. That is the one mistake all the finger pointing Iranians and Americas make. We are not our governments and the only way to make them listen is what Iran is doing right now. America is no different. Our people just have not gotten pissed enough yet. Wake up.
I appreciate the video you made and understand why you used Rage Against the Machine as the back drop music. Pay no mind to the negative critics that can not see beyond there own attempt to be witty at your expense. I only pray the people of Iran can organize and Unite and hang the current regime from the back of the same tow trucks that so many innocent Iranians have swung from.
Iranians are not pro Israel. They simply don't have any inclination to destroy it. Same stance that UN has over the issue. Even Ahmadi- uses his anti-Israeli rhetoric for Arab consumption not his internal support.
There is 2 apologies in order. One to the band being compared to Ahmadi-, two to Iranian people being compared as puppets of U.S. as if liberty, modernity and technology should be the turf of a single country.
Real irony is to use freedom of speech for supporting those who suppress it.
"Ahmadinejad is a stalwart we need in the Middle East" Mahmood, you sound like an intellectual guy, however, this comment contradicts your intellect. Ahmadi and Khameni's goal for Iran is to diminish the economy and transform its population into religious poor and uneducated drones in order for their ideologies to withstand the evolution of progressivness. How do you explain the price of oil quadroopaling during ahmadi's time however, unemployment and inflation exponentially increasing?
Yes, again with no context. The whole world knows they are opponents. You you give that phrase and you say its about Israel, that is throwing your idea to the people's minds. Like that, you are no better than CNN, BBC or FOX news or other international news channel. Show the complete interview and your source for that quote.
The Jakarta Post , Jakarta | Mon, 06/11/2007 7:20 AM
Iranian state news agency IRNA quoted Ahmadinejad as saying last Sunday, while discussing the recent violence between Israel and Hizbollah, that ""the Lebanese nation pushed the button to begin counting the days until the destruction of the Zionist regime"".
It also quoted him as saying, ""God willing, in the near future we will witness the destruction of the corrupt occupier regime."
true that ....this guy is using Rage Against The Machine songs while based on Rage Against The Machine's lyrics, they're totally against the Machine of Americanism and the expanding influence of American hegemony, while these protesters most of them are fed on Sattelite TV and want to succumb to that "Machine"
I'm not a 'metal' person but Rage Against the Machine is one of the few I really like. Glad you translated the Ahmadinejad document waving part because it's absolutely horrifying and disgusting. Viewers should better understand what those brave people are dealing with.
I did a YouTube search on "rage against the machine + iran" and found exactly what I wanted! This is the video I wanted to see and the song I wanted to hear. Well done, friend. I take back every disparaging thing I've ever said about camera phones. My heart is with the Iranian people.
I contacted my own Canadian government, asking to expell iranian diplomats from ottawa... If you have the ability to do this, DO IT, it takes next to no time, and if enough people do it, we may see some passive action / pressure on the part of the international community against Iran.

ROFL. I'm ignorant. Please tell me. Did they protest the last elections? If you think that this has nothing to do with a democratic Iraq on their boarder then you are not only ignorant but delusional! And to the idoit that says this has been brewing for a while, again answer the question: did this happen with the last elections? NO it didn't. What is different this time. A DEMOCRATIC IRAQ thanks to the Bush government. So EAT CROW Bush haters, Bush was RIGHT the dominoes are falling.
If you think Iraq is democratic you know nothing about this country.
The situation is worse than under Saddam Hussein - then, women could work and wear what they chose Now women are driven out of the public, disobedient ones are abducted, raped, killed, horribly mutilated as a sign who rules now.
Then, Christians could live under relative freedom. Now their exodus from a land they have populated even before the rise of Islam.
Shiites - persecuted and opporessed by Saddam. Now slaughtered almost everyday by internal and foreign Sunni fascists.
Kurds are the only ones enjoying more freedom than before.
If Saddam were still in power, he might have attacked the regime in order to finish old fights - only external pressure added up to the internal one will make this regime crack.
Without external pressure the protesters wil be slaughtered, just like in Iraq 1991.
I have some Persian lady friends, and they are very intellectual and strong. Anyway, love the vid and the music. I have a question. Has anyone else heard that some of the Military Police enforcing in Iran are not Persian, do not speak Farsi and are brutal hired mercenaries and that is why they have no compunction about firing upon or beating Iranians?
Wow. The world is watching with great interest. As a Mother with children, I do not know if I would be brave enough to stand and die for the cause of Freedom like these women are. But I hope I would be with all my heart.

We are currently living in a defining era for the fate of humanity.
ulcajun5 2 years ago 3
Those who fight for freedom in Iran may be for bigger government or smaller government. This is not an issue to divide them. Big thing you see there is not governing anything. It is controlling people and keeping the regime in power. Moosavi and his supporters believe they don't need that to stay in power and can stay in power only with the support of people. On this, I agree with Ahmadinejad. Regime can't survive without enforcers.
Now let's hope for a peaceful solution to end Islamic regime.
benrass 2 years ago
WTF? About what?
keithgeorge07 2 years ago
The protests were not about Khameni or toppling the government. Mosavi if he was elected or if he is elected next time will work within the Iranian system. And how much of their poor economy do you think has to do with the global recession ? And you know aswell as i do that opec controls Irans oil prices so wtf ?
colmmernagh 2 years ago
The people of Iran found their excuse to express their discontent with their regime with this election. You are absolutely wrong when you say it is not about Khameni. It has everything to do with Khameni. The chant of "Death to Dictator" in the streets is not referring to Ahmadi, it is referring to Khameni. If the media asks an Iraninan who the chant is referring to, they will say Ahmadi because they dont want to die. Irans economy was crap even before the global recession. Are you a basij?
IranUnited 2 years ago
What they really mean is Khameni, i doubth that.
"price of oil quadroopaling during ahmadi's time however, unemployment and inflation increasing" this is why i responded to you, "Irans economy" was mousavi going to wave a magic wand and make it all better. Iran has no control over its oil prices only if it flows or not, dont you know this ??
colmmernagh 2 years ago
If I am correct, Irans Oil is not refined in Iran. So that would stand to point that Iran has no control over the cost of oil.
keithgeorge07 2 years ago
If it wasn't about Khameni, do you think protests would have continued after Khameni's Friday sermon declaring that all protests need to cease? Rafasanjani has stated that his committee holds the right to change the Supreme leader and that Khameni needs to step aside. Furthermore, Iran does not control the price of oil and does not refine its own oil, but the price of oil skyrocketed during Ahmadis regime & economy tanked. He decreased interest rates by 10% overnight. Read between the lines
IranUnited 2 years ago

IranUnited 2 years ago 2
Maybe they just need a bailout stimulus package for the mullahs. All governments are inherently evil by nature whether based on religion, power hungry bankers or whatever idealogy. The best government is less government. A governments sole purpose should be to protect its people, not too take away their freedoms and control and manipulate them.
ulcajun5 2 years ago
That is a very well laid out synopsis of it all. Education is really the key to most of the worlds ailments. Or as Voltaire said "There will never peace in the world until the last king is hung by the entrails of the last priest"

That sounds like what I got out of the people protesting. What we saw was a powder keg that has a small fire next to get a little out of hand. I think that Keg still stands ready to explode! I can not stand it when people let their religion get twisted by one sociopath and just take what ever he says as the truth. Catholics and Christians have all made the same mistake. We still do. I am Catholic but I woke up.
keithgeorge07 2 years ago
Let me make one more correction to my statement. Americans are disgusted with the Saudi Government and OPEC, and the Chinese Government, not the people who just want a better life and want to see their children grow up and be happy. That is a major division never made by our state run medias. I think the people of the middle east are extremely tough and equally intelligent!
keithgeorge07 2 years ago
Lemmings, You can love your country and hate your government. You can love your religion and despise its leaders. If you want to knock me for being an American who feels for the people of Iran who want freedom from the Devil then have some intelligent criticism instead of assuming I am some how involved with every decision my government makes. A lot of people on these boards like to use big words but have no friggen brains at all.
keithgeorge07 2 years ago 2
But that coup was never about installing a 'puppet'. Mossadegh never intended to undermine the monarchy. In historic context, this meddling was never about aborting the democratic aspirations of Iranian people, it was about a 'real politic' choice between a pro western coup and pro soviet coup. Mossadegh democratic government -and I don't speak for anybody but myself- couldn't stand a chance there in my view. That's one tragedy among many, in the long history of progressist movement in Iran.
benrass 2 years ago

This is a daily question.
benrass 2 years ago
Despite the flaws of the regime...they are a stalwart to show Middle Easterners that they don't have to be hapless to Imperialist Hegemony. Modern Iran now is hope for people everywhere, maybe not some spoiled Iranian kids, but to the rest of us. If Iranians themselves don't support Iran, I will.

Incredible images. Terrible what the Mullahs are doing to Iran. Is this any better than the Shah?
Sagittarius10000 2 years ago
Most of the people you see in the images weren't even born during the Shah. So let me reply.
No, it is much worse. But even the son of Shah doesn't want to go back to what it was before. The seed of this terrible reactionary regime was planted in full speed authoritarian modernism push which was never democratically discussed therefore never properly digested by the society.
benrass 2 years ago
I'm old enough to remember when the Shah fell and Khomani returned to Iran. He was welcomed back with revolutionary ferver then. The people were ready to take their country back. Ever since Iran has been under the mullahs. Is this then a push for greater democracy? More freedom to do what? Be more Western and open? Less authoritarian? I presume this isn't a rebellion against Islam, but against theocratic authoritarianism, manipulation of the news, and repression of individual liberty?
Sagittarius10000 2 years ago
Let's hope, because believe me nothing what Imperialist regimes want than to have another Puppet Government in the Middle East.
remember Saudis are way stricter than Iran and they're America's favorite puppies...yet no one ever cries about them

Wake up.

I only pray the people of Iran can organize and Unite and hang the current regime from the back of the same tow trucks that so many innocent Iranians have swung from.
keithgeorge07 2 years ago
yeah pay no mind to critics because critics may show the innate self defeat and counter productiveness of your actions.
Mahmood42978 2 years ago
Iranians are not pro Israel. They simply don't have any inclination to destroy it. Same stance that UN has over the issue. Even Ahmadi- uses his anti-Israeli rhetoric for Arab consumption not his internal support.
There is 2 apologies in order. One to the band being compared to Ahmadi-, two to Iranian people being compared as puppets of U.S. as if liberty, modernity and technology should be the turf of a single country.
Real irony is to use freedom of speech for supporting those who suppress it.
benrass 2 years ago 2
LOL @ the irony of using Rage Against the Machine songs in support of Pro-American/Israeli moles in Iran
I honestly believe regardless of election results, Ahmadinejad is a stalwart we need in the Middle East

Iranian state news agency IRNA quoted Ahmadinejad as saying last Sunday, while discussing the recent violence between Israel and Hizbollah, that ""the Lebanese nation pushed the button to begin counting the days until the destruction of the Zionist regime"".
It also quoted him as saying, ""God willing, in the near future we will witness the destruction of the corrupt occupier regime."

Now their exodus from a land they have populated even before the rise of Islam.
dinavienna 2 years ago
Shiites - persecuted and opporessed by Saddam. Now slaughtered almost everyday by internal and foreign Sunni fascists.
Kurds are the only ones enjoying more freedom than before.
If Saddam were still in power, he might have attacked the regime in order to finish old fights - only external pressure added up to the internal one will make this regime crack.
Without external pressure the protesters wil be slaughtered, just like in Iraq 1991.
Iran is STRONGER with a destabilized Iraq.
