In the actual song, does anybody know (or knows how to make) the sound at 4:10? There is a reverb and delay attached to it. It is also used in Get In The Cart, Pig.

That's better than anything I could come up with. After trying flangers, scratchers, an others without getting anywhere, it's nice to know (about) how it's done!
this is awesome dude! so how did you get that great sounding buzz sound that comes on the "4 te" of the beat? you know "DUM DUM!" did you do it in sylenth? i cant make anything sound that good... :/
I'm not serious into music production or anything, but I like to mess around with it as a habbit....could you explain why certain some of your volume meters are colored blue, and the added benefit you get out of doing that?
@DafTacoustics Certainly. If a track is blue on this it means the audio is being sent to another track rather than directly to the master. In this case, 2 tracks are being sent to Return A (not master) for further processing. Return A is the blue track on the right, that audio is being sent to Return B and then Return B sends all of that to the master channel. It's so I can process multiple tracks with the same effects by running them through one track and into the master. Hope that helps! :)
You don't have the Arturia Minimoog V? Because the bass you're trying to put out with the PoiZone is based on what originally came from a Moog, and so you would have a much better time trying to emulate that with the appropriate plug-in.
@fckcok Haha, the main synth is Sylenth. It's a technically far better synth than Poizone. I use Poizone more though personally, but as you can see here, Sylenth can do some mega stuff.
@leepicciotto I did this from scratch, found modifying presets was really unhelpful since theres so much stuff changed it's impossible to keep track. I prefer this way because I know exactly whats going on.
And it's only 2 oscillators, and one of them is just a sine drone, the actual Cthulhu noise is a single oscillator but processed to buggery and back.
@joelsack nice try but thats why you can clearly see the hov dominator preset being used.and why the two oscillators you did modify are 3 and 4(part b),
@leepicciotto You can? O.o I definitely cleared it because I got the idea how to do it after messing about on my Monotron once haha. And theyre not being used, it's just a sawtooth wave with a bit of chorus on it, tiny bit of filtering, and then the bulk of the sound comes from 1 sine LFO oscillating the pitch at the frequency of the note you want the drone to play (it will only sound like this on one note), and then a second sine LFO controlling pitch and cutoff on 1/8 beats. Few effects, done.
@leepicciotto AAH! You mean in Ableton at the bottom? That stays on whatever the last preset you used was, even if you clear the bank. Originally I tried working with that preset since it's the closest but it didn't work atall, couldnt keep track of what was doing what, so cleared the bank and started from what I knew worked.
@joelsack not only that but im a sound designer and thats the exact reason no one that has seen your video has been able to recreate the patch based on your instructions.i bet if they open the hov dominator preset and copy your settings on part b it will sound just like the patch youre playing.
@leepicciotto Yeah that may be it, especially if you leave some traces of the preset it stops sounding quite right (I think it's the effects on the VST and the LFO settings).
If I release the patch can you take a look at see how you can refine it? At the end of the day I'm not Deadmau5 (I wish) so this is far far from perfect, was just a little time waster.

you should open source your project. could learn alot from what you did with that and how you use sylenth1 (for someone like me who just got it)

@fullaces90 That's literally just a clean saw lead, no effects other than a compressor and a bit of EQing. Just a single oscillator saw wave.

@joelsack thanks! :D

good job,is there any way you would be willing to share the sylenth patch?i cant seem to get it right(but i just bought sylenth so im new to it)
mikeEstrella1 1 year ago
@mikeEstrella1
thats because its actually 4 osc's.its a slight modification of a sylenth "dominator" preset.
