  • Wonderful video. Railroads always look good in the snow.

  • What a terrific video, great locations, and camera work, one thing about the snow it makes great video's, lovely stuff.....John

  • Great Trains! Great Locations! Great Filming! Very cool, thanks.

  • Great video, Eric! Love the OLS C40-9W. 5*, a favorite, and a channel post! Love all your videos!

  • Hello Eric,

Your videos are literally "top-notch"! They keep on looking better and better, you always get the best locations. It's sad though that you guys got more snow then us Canadians....

    Ryan

  • I don't know what the temp was while you were filming but up here in New England when we get a powdery light snow and low temps the horns can get pretty easily plugged up. It is not a good feeling bearing down a crossing with a horn that suddenly malfunctions!! Or, are there any horn prohibitions along the line? Just wondering.

  • No horn bans here. It was probably around 30 degrees.

  • that bmw was an idiot it came so close

  • @NSCorpDyl He didn't cross infront of the train, he came out of the side street before the crossing.

  • Yeah man he was like 40 feet away from the crossing, my angle makes it look closer, but he's not.

  • Hey Erik,

Nice catches! Sorry I haven't made it your way yet. Finances and snow have kept us from coming over that way. However, I should be in the Altoona area this upcoming weekend, so I can relay info to you (if you'd like). I just need your cell number again.

Also, did 20G neglect to sound the horn for the crossing?? That's a direct violation of FRA rulings. Kind of comical. I've seen it done before myself.

  • Not sure why 20G didn't blow the horn through the crossing, he blow a short blast before the section I show, perhaps he was tied up with something, oh well, no big deal it's not a busy crossing, I can guarentee there are more trains a day through there than cars. I don't want to get crews in trouble or anything... anyway, message me on here when you think you're heading out this way.

  • I've seen my share of lousy crossing salutes too. I've also seen trains pass through crossings without use of the horn. It's no big deal, unless they hit someone, or are caught by the road foreman of engines.

Like said, I'll be in the Altoona area this weekend. I'm leaving for that area on Friday morning and coming back Monday evening. Hopefully they'll be running good stuff. I'd kill to see an SD70 narrowcab leading. It's been a while since I've seen one of those.

  • Great catch on the 33A! I haven't seen 3419 or 3420 since they permanently left Dillerville Yard last August.

    Fantastic video, 5*!

  • Are you going to shoot any video after this next snowstorm?

  • Yes!

  • Sweet!! Another big snow coming Tuesday!!

  • Indeed, 33A was a real treat! I love the sound of steel wheels on cold, snow covered rails! Very nice Eric!

  • Nice catches, I wonder what happened to 14G.

  • Great catch on 20R gotta love seeing those SD40-2s, especiallyon a mainline intermodal, nice OLS catch to, i might have caught him a few days ago at CP thompson on the PITL what a great consist on 33A and same wth 212 great video ma as always

  • That video was awesome. Loved the 9 loco lash up.

  • Great video*****

  • Awesome shot of 212 glad somebody caught in daylight

  • awesome video 9 engines on a train its unusal !!!! 5/5 and favourites!!!

  • Of course on the RDG Line side... NOTHING for like 4 hours. Great catches man.

  • Excellent video!:)

  • I got that OLS D9-40CW 9251 in Mableton,Ga back on December 20th! Awesome power move on 33A! Great videos Eric! 5*****!

  • VERY cool.

  • Why didn't 18N blow for the crossing?

  • That particular lane is private and does not require horn because it is not a public thoroughfare, on the otherhand, 20G forgot to blow for the crossing.

  • sweet ass power on 33a and how do you know that the autoracks in the begining of 212 have bmw's?

  • I'm pretty sure they do and I was told this in the past, but maybe someone can confirm where they come from and where they are headed to (obviously I know the train is Atlanta, GA to Croxton, NJ, I mean the vehicles, to prevent confusion).

  • Great power all across the Harrisburg Line today... NS 38G had a BNSF SD70ACe trailing, with a CR Dash-8 too. 39G had UP 4966 leading.

    Nice catches Eric!
