I was once told a story about Tiger from golf pro at my course. He said when Tiger was 11 years old he was playing in a tournament and gave up on trying and simply quit. After about two weeks of not speaking a word to his father he finally said dad I can't take it anymore why wont you talk to me. Earl responded, you quit in that tournament, If you ever quit again you're done with golf. Ever since then even when Tiger stands no chance of winning he never gives up and pushes himself incredibly.

Other people have had the surgery and golfed, but those people aren't competing like he is through that pain. Especially on this scale. Do you know how hard it is to win a major tournament? Most golf players are lucky just to come in the top 10 at a major tournament, much less to be in contention to win one.
