@gudpeder Christopher Lee believes he is a baritone. But his low voice is so black timbred & freely produced, I believe he is a true bass. In the song Tinker of Rye from the film The Wicker Man, Chris comfortably sings in the basso profondo tessitura. The actor Leon Greene also had a true bass voice of huge power & quality. In fact, it is one of the best operatic basses I have ever heard. You can hear him in the film a funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.
Unfortunately, No. since I don't vocalize anymore I'm like the rest of you. I only have it in the am. I find that if I do a lot of talking in an atmosphere that is noisy, the voice comes back. I don't do a lot of talking even at home cause I'm alone during the day.
@Jpmadore1, yes but all the pictures ive seen of him are paintings and portraits. I thought he HAD to of been from a LOONNGG time ago. but theres recordings....but no videos!
Good thing he hit C#2, at least now I can sing along at a decent volume in my pure chest voice, as I can't sing any lower after 9 a.m. (After breakfast, my voice gets slightly higher, so forget any Basso Profondo range by me after.)
your vocal chords relax after you've slept... once you get up, they start to tension up a bit, even if you don't talk. So enjoy your 5 min of Profundo breakfast...
eat your hearts out guys! I've got a low G below low C at midnight. I'm a lyric basso profundo. When I was on stage at the Met waiting to go on during an opera I'd be humming a low A below low C. All the heads would turn to see who was doing it.
The basso profondo singer's name correctly: Yuri Wichniakov (Jurij Vishnjakov or Vishnyakov), not Victor or Viktor, that's INCORRECT!!! See "Basso Profondo from Old Russia - Popular & Sacred Russian Songs" CD (1999) Soloist: Yuri Wichniakov... See also Wikipedia
This sounds strangely like Christopher Lee as Saruman in the LOTRs movies...I wonder how low he can go?

@grassieb I've actually been thinking about that myself... He sounds like ha could have been a great bass.

@beatler9-
From the very few photos I've seen of him and knowing his singing career has spanned about 30 years, I'd say he's anywhere from 55 to 65.

Haha, it's the same with me! Before having breakfast, I can usually sing down to an Ab1, but after eating, it's difficult to hit lower than a D2.
Strange...
