Whats wrong with a good example? Isn't that what we as adults want for kids? For kids to go down the right path instead of the wrong path? John Cena is what Hulk Hogan used to be, on top of that, he's also is a good example of hope for our troops overseas, whats wrong with all that?
Dude, you're probably as old as me, maybe even older and you're picking on kids' role model? Grow up dude, be an adult.

@269KZoo4life good role models are fine if they are done well. Someone like Shawn Michaels after he returned and shortly before he retired was a good role model. CM Punk is a great role model in not only standing up for what you believe, taking the initiative and making a change as well as his RL straight edge life style. These things where not cliche or gimmicky and they work. Cena on the other hand not so much it's just stupid crap that should be on Barny not wrestling.
@Kingofredeyes Oh? REALLY???
You minus well say that exact same bullshit about Hulk Hogan during the 80s when this was the EXACT SAME FORMULA.
@269KZoo4life guess what. Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, Cm Punk, etc etc a lot of guys in wrestling support the troops, does charity work for kids etc etc. It's possible for him to do all of that, and still be a good role model without being a corny silly joke that belongs more on PBS than it does in the WWE. Hell when he first won the WWE championship from JBL he was an example of hard work, determination, and grit without being corny or cartoony.
@Kingofredeyes Well check this out, my GF's 6 year old son LOVES John Cena and I understand why, it was because of John Cena he's into wrestling and into more wrestlers than just him, and I'm into wrestling, guess what? Thats bonding time for what we enjoy and its wonderful. We're about to see WWE Smackdown here in my hometown, we both like Big Show, Randy Orton, and Sheamus. With Cena being corny and silly, its clean for the kids man, and I respect that outta Cena.
@269KZoo4life it's great you have something to bond over, no one is trying to say remove what makes WWE family friendly they are trying to say remove what makes it corny and out right childish. Look up Chikara for an example of PG done right. It's entertaining family friendly displays great wrestling without being corny and stupid. Believe it or not kids can, and do, love things that are not just juvenile.
@Kingofredeyes WWE has ALWAYS been corny, cartoonish, and childish and it will always be that way. If you compared Ric Flair to Hulk Hogan back in the day, you can clearly tell that Ric Flair was a wrestler, and Hulk Hogan was an entertainer. Ric Flair was a guy who got the girls, partying, styling and profiling. Hulk Hogan told kids to say their prayers, train, eat their vitamins. Flair could last an hour and pull off great matches, Hogan did high spot and mediocre matches.
@269KZoo4life and then you had Stone Cold, The Rock, DX, The Brood, The Ministry, The Undertaker, Mankind, I could go on and on but no the WWE hasn't always been corny. It's had it's corny moments, and a few corny characters, while Hogan was an anomaly not the norm. He isn't something that can be, or should be, replicated and that is really what they seem to be trying to do with Cena. They got by with it once that ship has sailed. He can be a role model without it.
@Kingofredeyes Everything BEFORE the attitude era was PG, and everything AFTER attitude era now is PG. The ONLY reason why we had attitude era was because WWE was in a competition in WCW, and WWE stole/ripped off ECW's revolution and put everyone you named off on it.
Steve Austin would've still been The Ringmaster, The Rock would've still been Rocky Miavia. DX wouldn't have been around, it would've still been "The Kliq". Attitude era would not have happened without WCW and ECW.
@269KZoo4life don't really have to respond much to you as Pokrtiend and martinjamesglasgow put it rather well. While WCW and ECW pushed WWE to change it's product that kind of argument does nothing to support your stance that a PBS kiddy character belongs on a prime time wrestling show before a global audience.
@269KZoo4life Someone here doesn't get it but it isn't me. You don't get that wrestling is not a little corny kiddy cartoon. You don't get that it can be kid friendly without being corny or stupid, and you don't get that wrestling fans like me have no problem with it being kid friendly as long as it makes sense. Right now, and for the past few years, Cena and his character haven't done any of these things and that is why we are sick of it.
@Kingofredeyes No, I do get that wrestling can be kid friendly done right.
You just don't get the fact that OTHER than the Attitude Era, WWE has ALWAYS been corny, cartoonish, and childish, hell I'm going to go far as to say WWE should've been on PBS to begin with.
It was just that certain period in the late 90's and early millennium when it wasn't like that. In my opinion, it started going back that way during 2005 when Cena ditched the rapper gimmick and became Hulk Hogan 2.
@269KZoo4life no you don't. Hogan as I said earlier was an anomoly, not the norm. During his time there where colorful characters but they where not kiddy. Flair wasn't kiddy, Sting wasn't kiddy, Andre the Giant wasn't kiddy, Hall, Diseal, HBK, none of these characters where kiddy. Sure you could argue some could of come out of a comic book, Undertaker/Sting, but they did them in a way that made hem believable and not childish. This is where you fail to see he difference between them and Cena.
@Kingofredeyes You're telling me that none of those colorful wrestlers you named off weren't cartoonish?
Ultimate Warrior was cartoonish, Sting was INDEED cartoonish until his Crow gimmick, The Undertaker was cartoonish until they turned him into Satan, HBK attracted the teenage girl audience until DX, Razor Ramon was a Scarface rip off for kids, Diseal certainly wasn't Big Sexy during that time....
All those gimmicks during that time were cartoonish, wake up

@269KZoo4life thats the thing those characters where cartoonish but they where done so in a manor that was fitting for the promotion an in a way that wasn't just flat out childish. This made them work and still get over with the fans. It's possible to acheve that without pushing it to the level that Cena has become. Cena with the chain gang was acceptable. When the marine gimik first started it was ok and then flopped. When he's getting booed out of his own home town it's time to change
@269KZoo4life Attitude Era ended in 2001. The Ruthless Aggression Era from 2002-2005 was not childish and cartoonish, so I dunno why you say it was always like that OTHER than the AE.
@ASQ1Fan Was that what that era was? I remember the Invasion era, but after that I just couldn't remember exactly what that era was. Thank you for the info.
Read the Paul Heyman interview, Mcmahon was a Shareholder in ECW & Helped ECW alot, wanted it to get back on track, but couldnt, so Mcmahon bought ECW and kept it alive for a few more years from 2001 - 2007
Mcmahon didn't rip it off, he bought it you fucking nutjob, he bought the business. Hes doing business.
He gave the Wrestling a Full Salary unlike Heyman who couldn't pay them every other week
WCW wouldnt of happened without WWF. WCW was full of WWF veterens
@Fondrom No shit sherlock....You think I didn't know Vince was a shareholder? As far as your claim of 2001-2007, not true! The last ECW PPV was Guilty As Charged in 2001, a few shows after that, they declared bankruptcy. Vince bought the RIGHTS to ECW, he didn't bring it back until 2005 with One Night Stand.
Vince did rip off ECW's revolution, he may have been a shareholder but he did steel Paul's ideas.
Your just stupid when it comes to WCW, look at the 80's and early 90s pal.
No one predicted that Stone Cold,Hulk Hogan would turn heel back in the day so of course it would shock the fan's when they turned heel, Now that everyone want's Cena to turn heel it really wouldn't shock us as much cause we saw it coming for all these years
And no one should because its wrestling. I admire the art and like it. But even the wrestlers probably think what the heck. Though the WWE is doing what they can to kiss the IWC's ass. You could say so is TNA as well. Just that I get so sick of hearing about the internet when I watch wrestling. Who cares!
I agree they should of made Cena a Heel. Mainly right after CM Punk made that speech. They ruined it for me as a fan. But this is wrestling I don't take it serious I just sit back and enjoy. Now the WWE bores me mostly but it has its moments. And if people hate PSP then why are you here? I could say to PSP if you hate the WWE why watch it? But to me he is more for entertainment after all Wrestling is scripted obviously. Why should take it so seriously? I doubt PSP takes what he says seriously
Jesus fucking Christ dude! All you fucking do is bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, and bitch! Your moaning over a poster. A goddamn poster!!! You my friend are very pathetic and are the SOLE definition of what an IWC loser is! That is why I unsubscribed because you aren't talking truth. You just being too goddamn negative! But what do I expect from an Attitude Era fanboy who can't let go of it and move on with life. Find something else to do with ur life other than bitching about WWE today. Christ man
Hogan didn't draw before turning heel ?! are you fucking stupid ? WCW's first ever PPV buyrate win over WWF was Bash at the Beach 1994 and guess what PPV that was ? it was hogan's first WCW PPV
Hogan is ten times the draw cena will ever be , and this is from a guy who doesn't even like hogan
cena can't score a 3.4 rating while hogan pulled off a 12.0 cable rating and has the record of the highest attendance at WM (93000 at WM 3)
@3badi18ittihadi That's not the point! You either misunderstood what he's saying or your completely twisting it into your own logic. No one said Hogan wasn't a draw as a babyface. Hogan is ten times a draw then Cena will ever be.......Yeah. You're point? Just because Cena can't draw like Hogan doesn't mean he's not a draw. Cena sells more tickets and merchadise than ANYONE in the WWE today so like it or not he's here to stay. Say what you want but it's the truth.
no way in hell did John Cena make more money for WWE than Austin , Rock or Hogan .. Hogan was selling out every arena in the 80's and had his own cartoon show , Austin has the record of the highest selling T-shirt of all time and saved WWF from WCW , and Rock holds the record of the highest rated segment and highest grossing WM of all time
get your facts straight little kid , WWF's most succesful financial years were in the Attitude era from 1999 to 2001
Just WWE yanking the fans chain like the CM Punk vs establishment storyline that pspower was the whipping boy for talking about negatively. After 5 years of noticeable boos in many venues, they are just NOW making these shirts? That means they finally decided to cash in on it. That's my opinion of it.
@mr1sparkle Says who? You pathetic IWC smart smarks who act like you know what the business should be when really all you do is bitch and moan about the product and really don't know anything @ all. All you know is the Attitude Era which has been over for 10 FUCKING YEARS ALREADY! Let it go for christ sake! Casual fans are more real fans than smarks because they can actually find something good about the product from time to time instead of just blindly shitting on it.
I agree get rid of the doll, it's more annoying than funny. just being real bro. Anyway i agree about it being too late.. What the hell is cena gonna say when he turns heel? Makes some crappy speech, oh you fans turned on me so I turned on you! blah blah I'm not saying that's a bad idea, I just don't think Cena Has the charisma to do that properly.. It's to a point now where it's like barney the dinosouar, even when he's trying to be mean and intimidating he has a slight smirk on his face..
"i RESPECT THE HELL OUT OF FOLEY,,i RESPECT THE ROCK,i RESPECT AUSTIN,i RESPECT HBK , I RESPECT ORTON"..well for most of those names its like kids respect your elders. CUCK FENA SINCE 2005..
only he fights the rock just like rock austin then at the end vince comes out the fans are like holly shit here it comes but no vince helps the rock beat cena. cena leaves a month later he is back jr welcomes him the crowed chanting his name cena smiles then FU on jr then him stfu the king trys to help put is beat up too he grabs the mic and says are you happy now and walks off. he then beats up ryder punk folley we have him get ready for undertaker at next years maina taker 20-0 cena heel
The only way it will work if they turn him heel is for him to go back for to his Basic Thuganomics gimmick. Not some Generic Heel garbage that WWE usually does.
Oh God! Please NOT the Thuganomics gimmick! If he does turn heel I wouldn't want any other generic heel type either, but if he's gonna turn Thuggy again, then I'll take the generic heel any day.
Hopefully, there's other alternatives in which he can choose from.
They could still make Cena turning heel have a huge impact if they made drastic changes. Cena has the right figure to be imposing, so why not slap a scary mask on him, change his name to a single word and have him be a freakin' psycho tormenting people. I'm not talking slow and methodic like Kane, I mean a hyper juiced up psycho straight up ravaging people. THAT would have a fantastic reception, but we all know that won't happen thanks to this PG shit.
Frank Mir is former UFC Champion, and Jujutsu Black Belt
Cain Velasquez is a former NCAA Division 1 champion, and has deadly striking.
Alistair Overeem is the only guy to hold 3 champions in 3 different promotions in MMA history, he also has K1 level striking.
How do you figure that Brock coming back into Wrestling after fighting the best fighters in the world is a bad thing? Brock would look more dangerous than ever, and he would go straight to the top.
"this guy looks as cool as pikachu" that's one thing you should be talking about to! pokemon was awesome in the late 90's and early 2000's but what has happend to it now?! No Brock no misty! I can't let my kids watch this crap
Just calling someone an outright "idiot" with no reason to back it up only makes you one as such. There's a fine line between educated criticism and just plain slander.
It'd be like me calling you an idiot just cause. Would that be true then?
hey bspower fisrt of all wrestlings fake so stop taking it so seriously brock can come back early wrestling is not real so brock can come back early he no need tu win other fight and what ur talkin about jonh cena is gonna turn heel wat do u meen it dont matter ur just stuck in teh past wrestlin dont alway havetu make since wwe is trollin so jus t accept it its a nu era now cm punk is champion so stfu wwwyki got betur camura
I agree with you about the timing aspect being important with character development, but Cena is an exception in the circumstances. At this point, Cena's character is about as shallow as a two inch puddle, like you brilliantly said, he's a walking happy meal. Timing is no longer a factor in this, until he turns heel the character is poison to anyone who appreciates the creative side of wrestling. And the longer WWE take to do it, the more pressure they put on themselves to portray it perfectly.
He probably is. But even still, pspower and just like the rest of us grew up watching WWE. It's hard to simply ignore and not be infuriated over the product that we all grew up with and loved.
Actually, I started watching the WWE/F way before the Attitude Era. So I don't know where you got that assumption from that I only know A.E. On that note too, I believe that wrestling doesn't need to be risque & hardcore in order for it to be good, as the Golden Age Era had proved that.
However, I don't understand when people simply say "if you don't like it, stop watching" or in your case, "let it go".
Again, as I mentioned b4 but now I'll elaborate, if you...
...become a fan of something, such as that that you have great passion for and grew up with, it's hard to just "let it go" when it becomes inferior but you still wanna be a fan of it. Understand?
And for those who have accepted the way the current product is, it baffles me how people can still enjoy it who are longtime fans. There's a remarkable difference in terms of the quality of today's product and from before (80's - 2004).
...for guys like pspower, rvdtito4life, myself, and others who are wrestling fans by BLOOD, and where we can't just "let it go", it's not our fault that we refuse to lower our standards and accept the trash that the WWE spews out.
Cena has only been wrestling for 10 years in WWE. I don't think they waited way too long. He should have turned a couple years ago. They can still surprise us with the heel turn. It should happen within the next couple years and it could still be a huge thing if done right.
I love all your videos! U tell it like it is and how it should be! They should get you and few other hardcore wrestling fans like myself to be writers. We would change the game. Hell one night me and friends came up with 3 bad ass storys in under a hour.
@WBWpwns It wouldn't really matter if he was on a normal PPV Poster, such as Over The Limit but you don't put nobodies like him on a major PPV poster, you should put a major star on it like John Cena or CM Punk.
I see what you're saying about Cena but you gotta remember this is the same company who made CM Punk someone straight edge talking against drinking and drugs into a heel and a known drug abuser Jeff Hardy into a babyface. WWE has no message only ways to make money.
I'm not really sure a win against Mir would do much on its own. Their 1st fight ended in controversy and the 2nd one Lesnar dominated Mir. It would be good for him to win the rubber match, but he should at least win 1 or 2 more fights after that. Kongo or Nelson would do.
@TheJjoona22 So wanting wrestling to be exciting and more unpredictable is living in the past? CM punks shoot was unpredictable, i want more things like that to happen. am i living in the past to?
@ashyman16 No. That's not living in the past. What IS living in the past is thinking that bringing back the Attitude Era is the answer to all our problems and/or not letting go of the Attitude Era when it's been over for a decade! Sure, we all want wrestling to be cool again and more exciting. Also unpredicability is overrated. A product doesn't need to be unpredicable to make it good. There is such a thing a bad unpredicability.
@Big2thaTony I gotta agree with you. Sometimes being unpredictable is bad. Vince Russo made that abundantly clear when he was in WCW. When you make things unpredictable just for the sake of being unpredictable, it hurts the product cause no one wants to get emotionally involved with anything cause it all changes so often.
But the other extreme isn't any better. When things are so predictable you can spot it coming from a mile away, wrestling gets boring cause there's no surprise.
@archangel76106 A wrestling shooter with 4,000 subs and a wrestling promotion with millions of viewers. Which you one do you think NEEDS to actually get with the times and please their audience......dumbass

Flair could last an hour and pull off great matches, Hogan did high spot and mediocre matches.
269KZoo4life 1 week ago
@269KZoo4life and then you had Stone Cold, The Rock, DX, The Brood, The Ministry, The Undertaker, Mankind, I could go on and on but no the WWE hasn't always been corny. It's had it's corny moments, and a few corny characters, while Hogan was an anomaly not the norm. He isn't something that can be, or should be, replicated and that is really what they seem to be trying to do with Cena. They got by with it once that ship has sailed. He can be a role model without it.
Kingofredeyes 1 week ago
@Kingofredeyes Everything BEFORE the attitude era was PG, and everything AFTER attitude era now is PG. The ONLY reason why we had attitude era was because WWE was in a competition in WCW, and WWE stole/ripped off ECW's revolution and put everyone you named off on it.
Steve Austin would've still been The Ringmaster, The Rock would've still been Rocky Miavia. DX wouldn't have been around, it would've still been "The Kliq". Attitude era would not have happened without WCW and ECW.
269KZoo4life 1 week ago
@269KZoo4life don't really have to respond much to you as Pokrtiend and martinjamesglasgow put it rather well. While WCW and ECW pushed WWE to change it's product that kind of argument does nothing to support your stance that a PBS kiddy character belongs on a prime time wrestling show before a global audience.
Kingofredeyes 1 week ago
@Kingofredeyes *sigh* you just don't get it....You're just plain stupid....
269KZoo4life 1 week ago
@269KZoo4life Someone here doesn't get it but it isn't me. You don't get that wrestling is not a little corny kiddy cartoon. You don't get that it can be kid friendly without being corny or stupid, and you don't get that wrestling fans like me have no problem with it being kid friendly as long as it makes sense. Right now, and for the past few years, Cena and his character haven't done any of these things and that is why we are sick of it.
Kingofredeyes 1 week ago
@Kingofredeyes No, I do get that wrestling can be kid friendly done right.
You just don't get the fact that OTHER than the Attitude Era, WWE has ALWAYS been corny, cartoonish, and childish, hell I'm going to go far as to say WWE should've been on PBS to begin with.
It was just that certain period in the late 90's and early millennium when it wasn't like that. In my opinion, it started going back that way during 2005 when Cena ditched the rapper gimmick and became Hulk Hogan 2.
269KZoo4life 1 week ago
@269KZoo4life no you don't. Hogan as I said earlier was an anomoly, not the norm. During his time there where colorful characters but they where not kiddy. Flair wasn't kiddy, Sting wasn't kiddy, Andre the Giant wasn't kiddy, Hall, Diseal, HBK, none of these characters where kiddy. Sure you could argue some could of come out of a comic book, Undertaker/Sting, but they did them in a way that made hem believable and not childish. This is where you fail to see he difference between them and Cena.
Kingofredeyes 1 week ago
@Kingofredeyes You're telling me that none of those colorful wrestlers you named off weren't cartoonish?
Ultimate Warrior was cartoonish, Sting was INDEED cartoonish until his Crow gimmick, The Undertaker was cartoonish until they turned him into Satan, HBK attracted the teenage girl audience until DX, Razor Ramon was a Scarface rip off for kids, Diseal certainly wasn't Big Sexy during that time....
All those gimmicks during that time were cartoonish, wake up

@269KZoo4life and yet they where all done in amanor befitting of a wrestling promotion. They where not corny or silly. That is the problem we have with Cena and his character. There is nothing about his character befitting of a wrestling promotion and that is a problem.

3badi18ittihadi 3 weeks ago
@3badi18ittihadi That's not the point! You either misunderstood what he's saying or your completely twisting it into your own logic. No one said Hogan wasn't a draw as a babyface. @Fondrom
no way in hell did John Cena make more money for WWE than Austin , Rock or Hogan ..

KOtheREF1 1 month ago
They could still make Cena turning heel have a huge impact if they made drastic changes. Cena has the right figure to be imposing, so why not slap a scary mask on him, change his name to a single word and have him be a freakin' psycho tormenting people. I'm not talking slow and methodic like Kane, I mean a hyper juiced up psycho straight up ravaging people. THAT would have a fantastic reception, but we all know that won't happen thanks to this PG shit.

KOtheREF1 2 weeks ago
@Big2thaTony
...become a fan of something, such as that that you have great passion for and grew up with, it's hard to just "let it go" when it becomes inferior but you still wanna be a fan of it. Understand?
And for those who have accepted the way the current product is, it baffles me how people can still enjoy it who are longtime fans. There's a remarkable difference in terms of the quality of today's product and from before (80's - 2004).
Therefore...

ashyman16 1 month ago
@ashyman16 No. That's not living in the past. What IS living in the past is thinking that bringing back the Attitude Era is the answer to all our problems and/or not letting go of the Attitude Era when it's been over for a decade! Sure, we all want wrestling to be cool again and more exciting. Also unpredicability is overrated. A product doesn't need to be unpredicable to make it good. There is such a thing a bad unpredicability.
Big2thaTony 3 weeks ago
@Big2thaTony I gotta agree with you. Sometimes being unpredictable is bad. Vince Russo made that abundantly clear when he was in WCW. When you make things unpredictable just for the sake of being unpredictable, it hurts the product cause no one wants to get emotionally involved with anything cause it all changes so often.
But the other extreme isn't any better. When things are so predictable you can spot it coming from a mile away, wrestling gets boring cause there's no surprise.
