  • Kacen does what my son does... just suddenly pop off & turn around & want to be nosy & check everything out ;o) LOL Glad to know its not just mine, haha :o) Do you have any goals on when to wean? I am thinking of just going to 12 months, but that is just minimum for me. I truly can't imagine going over 18 months though... but I don't know... he is so distracted lately that I bought a Medela Pump in Style pump & started giving him his milk in a sippy 1-2 times a day :o( I love nursing tho:)

  • @mrsmommy81 I don't plan on weaning...I'm going to let him decide. Our goal is a minimum of 18 months. Hes 12.5 months & going strong. I couldnt imagine waking up one day & just telling my son no more just bc ur 12 months old. He'd be emotionally damaged, he nurses so much that just isnt an option. Our pedi suggest a minimum of 18 months, prefers 2 yrs though.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx Yea it sounds like your little guy would be a great candidate for self weaning since things are going so great. My little guy shows more interest in drinking out of a cup these days. With his preference being to drink out of a cup I know he wouldn't be damaged in any way if I weaned, but I want to at least pump like I have been doing & give him my breast milk so I don't have to go the formula route. My daughter was the same way as my son is :o) Have a great weekend :o)

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx HELL! THE DAMN KID WILL BE SUCKIN TIT IN HIGH SCHOOL! DONT MAKE A WIMP OUT OF THE KID!!!

  • @mrsmommy81 the older they get the less they nurse though.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx Yea he gets about 5 feedings per day now, where it used to be closer to 12 the first 3 months & then from 3-5 months it was around 7-8 feedings a day. I'm pumping on average 7 ounces every 3 hours. He usually does have a "snack" feed every day. I went to a breastfeeding support group about 2 weeks ago.. he literally nursed for 45 seconds & I weighed him before & after the feeding & he had eaten 4 ounces... incredibly efficient eaters these babies are when they get bigger :o)

  • @mrsmommy81 oh wow!!!!!! 4 oz? amazing!

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx WHEN LITTLE BOYS START DATING, IT STARTS UP AGAIN!

  • Very cute :o) My little guy is 6 months old now & he also makes little cute noises when he nurses :o) Kacen just turned 1, right? He's so cute. Both of your kids are adorable!

  • my daughter did that when she was an infant. They just think is so delicious that it evokes moans and groans! so adorable!

  • I remember this when I breastfed... she made cute noises like that too

  • My daughter Isabella makes those same noises. It warms my heart when I see those big brown sparkling eyes look up at me while shes curled up in my arms : ] Im still breastfeeding her to this day! 3 weeks old. Adorable baby by the way! Whats his name?

  • ahh noises of enjoyment! How often do you find you are nursing on demand in general? We were going every 3-4 hours or so, but so many things have thrown it recently.. I've kind of lost track. Do you find he has demanded less often as Kacen has got older? Lyra is ony 3 months now and I'm hoping to EN til 6 months, she doesn't really take expressed milk, so I'm worried that by the time it comes to me needing to leave her with someone for whatever reason, she'll get really bad seperation anxiety!

  • lol! how cute! My daughter makes the same noices while BF :]

  • hehe how cute! dont u just love it? it warms ur heart uh?

  • Yes it does! She's is getting older and distracted often and sometimes can't eat... Does Kace do that as well? If so how do you help him eat more? I hate using the cover :/

  • Yes the distraction can be tough. When using a shield at times its completely pointless b/c unless you hold down both hands and the shield you'll end up flashing something, actually makes less attention and covers more at times to not sure a shield. lol I have to beware of his moods and sometimes not talk to others while nursing, careful of our area when nursing b/c of noise as well, and just play close attention to him so if I"m not sure a cover I can be ready to cover up w/ my shirt.

  • Aww I love those little noises! My son recently self weaned at 7.5 months :( I miss breastfeeding him!

  • hey lucy, cute vid, just wondering how often you feed and how long for? Do you have a set routine or do you just feed whenever? I want to breastfeed my next one for as long as possible aswell.

  • I nurse on demand until he pulls off.

  • So cute! I wish I had video of Grace nursing, I will be sure to get that next time around! I miss all those little noises they make when feeding.

  • My daughter does that too. And she also like to hit and scratch me in the face while she feeds also its crazy and funny lol.

  • How cute! My son does this too. I thought it was because he is teething, I am glad he is just enjoying himself. :)

  • ...as it enables the baby to wean as and when they are ready and you carry on breastfeeding until you are both ready to stop...there are vids on youtube and information about it on the internet as well....it's completely up to you and your family, I just thought I would mention it in case you were interested...hope you and your family are well love claire and amy :)

  • hey lucy I have been watching your vids ever since I got pregnant with my little girl and she is now 4months old :) I love how honest you are and found your breastfeeding vids especially helpful....aswell as the honest video about your birth story! I remember you saying in one of your videos that this time round you want to try to breastfeed for as long as possible...I have just finished training to be a breastfeeding mentor and watched a video about baby led weaning...you could check that out

  • We were already planning on BLW, we talked to his Dr about it a month ago, she loved it & was on the same page w/ us about it. We were there about his ear that day so we didnt get to go in depth but will in December 4 his next check-up, cant wait. Hes 6.5 months still no solids yet, his appts are a lil behind but hes content still plus i want to see if his growth curve is still the same or falling now that we r past the 6 month mark. TY 4 mentioning it though :)

  • I thinks its such a brilliant way of weaning...hope everything goes well at your next docs appoinment...oh one question i have a moby d wrap and wondered if u still manage to feed your little fella in it? as I I'd love to be able to do that with amy...if so and if you have any free time could u post a how to vid of the position you use thanks :)

  • We have a baby k'tan. Hes to big to nurse in the cradle position, but he can in the hip position as well as the hug position...it takes a little extra adjusting & tweaking but its very much so possible.

  • thanks I'll try that tomorrow :)

  • aww i love it when they make that noise while feeding..its like they are in heaven lol

  • He's so happy

  • aww how sweet. I miss those days... My son will be a year old in exactly one week but I was only able to breastfeed him untill he was 8.5 months old

  • aww I can't wait to nurse my son! It's so cute!! And he's such a happy little guy.

  • my son makes the same noise, must be a noise all babies make.

  • hes like nom nom nom. thats one happy baby

  • TOO CUTE, I can't wait for those days again.

  • I miss that noise so much! Now I just get my hair pulled.

  • I love how you knew he was going to pull off! My friend has a VERY nosy 7 month old baby girl and so when she's out and BF, she has to be super quick to cover up when her daughter pulls off to see whats going on!

  • Oh yes, he's very nosy. At times he wants to look around while eating and other times he's like please ya'll hush I'm trying to eat over here. So he has his moods.

  • well he's enjoying his meal ;)

  • aww that is so cute, my little girl was doing the exact same thing earlier!!

  • what a little sweetie! I love it when babies make little noise, it makes it sound so scrumptious!

  • What a sweetheart!

Nursing sounds really do warm ones heart.

  • omg what a cutie i duv you familey btw how old is kacen and jaylen

  • *Jacelyn Lol

  • My daughter started making noises like that a week ago. I thought at first she was hurt or something. But no, she's just having fun hehe. She's 3 months 1 week, but she's been vocal since 1 month :)

  • haha, too funny, and cute!
