  • I would chop off the beginning of the video where you are just waiting. Just a suggestion :)

  • @MSNWindows7 well I have started recording my vids later thinking it is to early, but then something good happens that could have been on tape or something comes over the radio. Thanks :)

  • I rode the Cardinal from Charlettsville Va to Chicago IL. and the Zepher to Denver Co. back in 00 . It was a birthday gift from my girl friend , 1st class . What a great way to travel . Sounded like a DC-3 flying over at 2:30 or something old like that .

  • @ifab2holeshot yeah it is a great way to travel. If I possibly can, I try to travel train everywere I go. It is the best and coolest way. I really don't know. Wouldnt doubt it cause the Lansing IL airport is only like 5 mins from there. thanks for watching :)

  • Those two Private Cars are the Braddock Inn and NYC 38 both Cars owned by the Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society in which I am a member of. Very nice cars.

  • Yes they are. Thanks for watching :)

  • so weird, i love the cardinal and i havent seen it that long in a very long time

  • well thats its normal consist, but it just had a couple of private cars thats why it probably looks longer than usual. Normally were the private cars were, there is two horizon coaches on the cardinal that get put on in Indianapolis.

  • 5 stars.

  • thanks :)

  • Cool I want to ride this route.

  • yeah that will be cool. were are you riding from? its a cool train.

  • Well I don't think I'll be riding it. If I did ride it I would probably go all the way for penn station to chicago. If you just book a coach seat its the same price as the Lakeshore limited but when you upgrade to a sleeper its a couple hundred dollars more. Ive been on the Lakeshore Albany-Chicago and will probably just do that agin next time my family goes on a long distance train ride because its much cheaper and my mom and dad don't want a ride as long as the Cardinal's. IDK why LL is less $

  • its 29hrs from NY to chicago. the tracks in WV are aweful and u got about 25mph for two hours. i did it once, ill never do it again.

  • WOW. I rode it from Chicago to Indianapolis a couple times and thats not to bad, but that is as far as I have gone on the Cardinal. thanks for watching :)

  • I guess the only people who would ride it the entire route are people who just want to see the country and don't care about getting there very fast. When I was on the lakeshore limited we were flyin' I think we were doing 79 for most of the trip.

  • @howardkevinm Yeah, I would recommend the faster Lake Shore Limited or Capitol Limited to NYC and D.C.

  • He did not use the horn at the crossing as he approached the station. Interesting

  • No he actually did, but it was a weak horn and if you listen VERY closely you can hear it, plus it was a bit windy out. Thanks for watching :)

  • Who's that goofy kid in the blue hat? Oh, that's me again!

  • Cardinal is not the best On-Time Percentage.

  • Yeah the Hoosier State is never really on time to Dyer either. Dyer is the last station before Chicago so they run into a lot of speed restrictions and such before the station so thats what makes them late. Usually average only about 30mins behind. This particular day they had problems putting the train together in Indianapolis. Thanks for watching :)

  • Yeah the only time I am really up there is to either pick up my friend from Indianapolis, or to say hello to all of my Amtrak crew friends. I might be there late OCT to catch the train to go to INDY for a couple days. IDK yet

  • Your welcome, I went between Washington and Hinton, WV and vice versa once, and we were delayed a good 2 1/2 to 3 hours each way. Not the best on time section. 5*

  • Hey let me know when you do this again. I am just down the street from the Dyer Station! lol Do you have my cell number? I got a car, so i could tag along lol.

Private Message me to talk more about it. btw, what are the frequencies that I could program that you listen too? Specifically between 136-174MHz. thanks

Nice Video once again! 5 Stars! :)
