I don't like how he keeps saying: "there is no gravity in space". Of course there is gravity. How would the moon keep rotating around Earth if there wasn't? They are weightless because they are in a constant free-fall around Earth. I wish he clarified this. If there was no atmosphere on Earth and you went skydiving you could do the same dumb tricks as they do in space.

@nobadges There was actually a fun little debate among physicists at the time. This astronaut was actually curious enough to solve it. This astronaut is actually an example of what a great astronaut is. If this guy is curious about yo-yo's, what else might he be curious about? He is probably doing this during his free time. Which person do you think is more likely to make discoveries? Someone who reads a magazine during that time, or someone who creates their own experiments during free time?

Unresponsive yo-yos were not available at that time and I doubt that the astronaut would have been able to much with it anyway. It is a good point though.
