I had one history teacher - 8th grade - yup, who was either absolutely insane or burning with some holy passion of knowledge (jury is still out.) who would act out little interpretations of what history may have been like through the eyes of just anyone living in the time. Just a sentence of two sometimes, but he also did some acting. Making history come alive? - please, be ready to duck in his class. And it was inspiring.

Having a good chuckle over this. How and where a poet comes up with an idea can be surprising or boring or grotesque. You can't force the Muse.

It may be a favor to a young poet not to reveal where you get your inspiration. It might take them down a dead end or into danger.
