so i have been working on a new project for a while and then suddenly after saving an exiting, i re opened my project, it opened to this huge thing of numbers and said "An error occured during the current operation" and then "an exception has occurred" all of my other projects open fine, the only thing i changed was i imported an mp4 file, and after saving that, it won't open again, PLEASE someone reply to my comment :(

i can't open my vegas... i think something happened when i tried to open a file with a serial number... it just didn't open it and now my veags, every time i click on the icon, it just opens a tiny blank window (i had the evaluation version, so the window used to be small, but it used to say "use evaluation" or "buy now" and now it's blank....)

Ive had a problem for about a year now. I record with a HD PVR in MP4 format. When I import in to Vegas (8, 9 or 10) it laggs and the video bar is much longer than the audio is which makes no sense as they are obviously the same length. The clips do not play due to lagg and often cause my vegas to close down. The clips arent able to render properly either. The only way it works is if I convert the clips which is hastle as it takes hours. Ive downloaded codecs and everything. Help me please!

for the people this dont work, its better to render in full HD mp4 format. most of the times rendering works then. so fock wmv. :D

I also had the same problem, and I`ve been trying everything (indeed this vide). The solution is to download a newer version of sony vegas. I had sony vegas 8.0, and now i got 9.0, and now the rendering works perfect.

well, i open 8 pro just like usual- and it opens my file im working on. but in the middle of loading- it stops and says theres a media manager error and that my 'library' cannot be accesed. i cannot hear my audio now, but my videos work, and its confusing the CRAP outta me!!! :(

The Problem with you people getting errors is probably because you have tried to install the software and then it got corrupt during isntallation.. Then some leftover files are placed in folders..

You need to make sure that you delete ever Sony folder and Sony Registry. Delete Vegas Pro 100%

and then it should work.. If not then there is nothing a reformat can't do ;)

Thanks for that Xenomex---I had rendering probs and crashes while rendering.

This usually happened with numerous effects--slo-mo--pan and crop---colour changes etc.

Now I render all my chapter clips in the timeline to the desired format, in my case it's HD - PAL DVD without any effects--then bring them back in and then edit with effects-audio- narrative etc. I have found that the finished chapter then renders quickly with no probs-- Cheers Baz.
