Saudoso Albert. Ficam na memória a beleza de sua vida e da sua arte bachiana. Como sempre, belíssimas e acertadas execuções de Bach. Albert, uma caminhada a mais no processo civilizatório e uma chama a brilhar no âmbito da arte.
I think you will find this recording was made on the organ of thc church or Our Lady before Tyn [Kostel Matky Boží před Týnem] located on the Old Town Square in Prague, Czech Republic.
The oldest pipe organ in Prague stands inside this church. The organ was built in 1673 by Heinrich Mundt and is one of the most representative 17th-century organs in Europe. It is a magnificent instrument, however, the muted registrations in this recording, show little of its glories.
Its so refreshing to hear this massive piece played at this pace...which is probably how it was originally intended. A wonderful contrast to Walcha's great versions. Classic Schweizer
I agree completely. Many years ago, I stopped going to church on Sundays because of E. Power Biggs playing Bach on the Harvard organ.
Years later, I first heard Schweitzer and knew that this was how Bach was to be played. For one, he plays the organ in a way it must have responded to key-strokes before electricity and, again, Schweitzer understood the registration which fills the great heights of the churches of his time.
Hi, Schweitzer plays regular pipe organ. His performances were recorded on several places so I cannot tel which one is this. The organ sounds unusually due to Schweitzer's special, very minimalistic choice of stops. No mixtures, no "pleno", just to uderscore the melodic lines, that's it.
It should be the organ renewed by Kern in 1961 in the church of Gunsbach (Alsace)

@Eppoukoji Agreed! His fingers linger on the keys and gives the listener time to savour the notes.
