  • saw this and cinema and cried like a baby

  • @Zangorus I watch this at home, 10 years later and still cry like a baby. ;)

  • This by far the greatest scene in the series

  • Comment removed

  • Sam is unquestionably the best character in the trilogy. What a friend...

  • This scene gets me every damn time.

  • Once again, this and The Grey Havens prove, that you are heartless and without soul if you disliked either one of these videos

  • Sam è così dolce con Frodo!

  • Frodo couldn't have done it without sam! I love both characters

  • samwise is one of the best characters in literature history...that is all

  • Do you remember the shire Mr.Frodo, it'll be spring too, and the birds will be resting in the strawberries with cream. Do you remember the taste of strawberries in your gusset? Do you remember the rural utopian references to christian morality Mr.Frodo.

Oh Sam, I have a stone in my gant.

Do you remember the dream Mr.Frodo, the rush of water, the hairy feets.

Oh Sam, there is a cat in my cat.

Do you remember the dark ones Mr.Frodo, with the horsebum.

Oh Sam, I want to sleep on rocks.

  • @Archiveofobscurity You must be confusing this with ChristNarnia. I don't see any christian morality references. I just see human social nature as per our natural behavior.

  • NO ending will EVER be as epic as this!!

  • 9 years ago in a packed theatre, I witnessed the entire crowd erupt in cheers during this scene

  • @Dudeinator6599 the thought of that actually makes me cry! that would be amazing to see!

  • Best part of the entire trilogy for me. It still gives me goosebumps, and even a lump in my throat.

  • i just cried.

  • I love Sam. Think of all the stupid shit Frodo puts him through. Frodo wants to leave for mordor alone, Sam almost drowns for him. That is just one of the awesome things that Sam does, not to mention carrying Frodo.

  • And this is why Sam was my favorite Hobbit. never gives in, and never gives up, and he did all he could to protect frodo and get him up mount doom. Sam is amazing.

  • people say that all these famous people is there inspiration but mine is sam what he does for frodo is remarkable he is honestly the best fictional chara ever in history

  • a truly beautiful moment

  • anyone know what song off the soundtrack this is

  • @123456789zasdfghjkl into the west

  • @123456789zasdfghjkl The Black Gate Opens

  • Fuck good guy Greg, where's good guy Sam?

  • this scene breaks my heart every single time, sitting here with tears in my eays just from watching this short piece again ...

  • Brokeback Mountain of Doom.

  • So much camaraderie. I think of this moment whenever a Bro needs me. Fuck hoes.

  • I think Peter Jackson's reaction after this was: 'Wow.....'

  • in the scene before this, when frodo and sam are both lying on the side of the mountain from exhaustion, frodo starts crawling up the mountain desperately while they play this music before he collapses and then this scene happens. Does anyone know what the soundtrack is for that scene?

  • @StettaN1337 lol it's funny because you've never experienced a bond with someone.. So you point fingers and say they're gay... yep... you're soo cool

  • @StettaN1337 you must be a very lonely person. I feel sorry for you.

  • @StettaN1337 So, you don't have any friends? You don't know what friendship is and you just say real friendship LIKE THIS (!!!) is gay?

  • dude I still get goosebumps from watching theis..its so damn beautiful

  • Sam and Frodo. The BEST Bromance in fictional history!!!

  • 4 people work for Mordor

  • @DRFFilmsProductions One does not simply work for Mordor.

  • This is my favorite scene out of the entire trilogy. Sam is my favorite character because no matter what, he stays loyal. Without Sam, Frodo wouldn't have made it to Mordor.

  • sams the real hero

  • Did he just say naked in the dark?

  • I cried.

  • Sam starts out as an afterthought in the fellowship and ends up being the true hero of the series.

  • such a powerful scene. This truly shows the love the characters had for each other, in the way they sacrificed for them...

  • God, this is the most amazing scene ever. Lord of darkness, defeated by friendship.

  • am I the only one who started chanting Rudy, Rudy, Rudy, when they saw this?

  • One of the greatest scenes ever

  • Oh Sam! *hugs him*

  • I cried when I saw this in theaters.

  • @88Trafalgar None of it would have been possible without ANY of the main characters. They all played a roll, no matter how big or small they were.

  • What an awesome scene! Love it!

  • *shivers*....

  • ok listen at 0:48 and you can hear someone fart after sam says "first of the strawberries and cream". Just listen ok :)

  • How Sean Astin didn't even get nominated for best supporting actor is beyond me.

  • @nuttyprof99 Yep, he literally supported him in this scene.

  • @nuttyprof99 The oscar the movie did deserve.

  • @nuttyprof99 i know man. that was absolutely incredible.

  • @nuttyprof99 I am baffled by this. His ability to channel emotions so beautifully in Return of the King was the stuff of legends. LEGENDS and it wasn't nominated! Bullshit, nobody cares about some mumbling asshole who can act like an artist, we care about true, honorable and emotional acting. This is what Sean Astin did and this is nowhere near what he deserves for it.

  • @nuttyprof99 I completley understand. Samwise was the best character in my opinion, because without Sam, Frodo would have died long before this moment. Friends are the ones that carry you into certain death without questioning their outcome. "Don't go where I can't follow, Mr. Frodo."

  • Just saw all three in films in the theater, and I have to need... I WAS AWESOME!

  • @88Trafalgar i could also say:" Without Gollum the ring would not have been able to be destroyed!"

  • @hamsikElavezzi lol but sam's EPIC :)

  • @evenstar7u why Smeagol not? :D

  • I would rather live in middle earth rather than here

  • A very heartwarming scene.

    The power of friendship.

  • i got mad at the end when they were all cheering for frodo and i was all like

"no,no,no,no,no... sam literaly carried frodo up the mountain just so frodo could go all power crazy and slip the ring on. then he had to lift him and his muffed up hand over the ledge to save him. The best frodo did was have a slomo slap fight with golem for 2 seconds and in the process destroy the ring. in my mind, samwise gamgee is a bigger badass then aragon just because of all the shit he's taken SAM SAM SAM!

  • This part gets my everytime!

  • I remember watching this in the theater. Two fratboys behind me were snickering at many moments. At this point I turned around and they were wiping tears out of their eyes

  • @WeaponXXIV did u actually turn around when this scene was playing?

  • @CreativeBox1994 Yeah. It was the third time I'd seen the film so I knew what was happening.

  • Manly tears

  • the moment the ring met its true match: samwise gamgee.

  • he will caaaaarryyyyyy you hoooooooome

  • "'Don't you leave him, Samwise Gamgee.' And I don't mean to."

  • This is my favourite part of the movie. It makes me want to cry! :(

  • Sam and Frodo have such a beautiful friendship :)

  • greatest movie trilogy ever.... plain and simple

  • @JokerIIIIIII the only trilogy that i know that comes close to this trilogy is the new batman movies

  • It's said that Peter Jackson himself teared up when they were filming this on the mountainside.

  • I'd love to talk about how amazing Sam is, but you all seem to have covered it pretty well ;)

Another thing about this scene is how moving Frodo is. Poor guy, he's gone through a more terrible ordeal than anyone else in the book/movie. Elijah Wood's perfomance is astounding - it makes you want to give him a big hug. I think we'd all feel compelled to carry him up that mountain, that brave little hobbit :'(

  • I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

  • Most of us, unfortunately, can only wish we had as great a friend as Sam.

  • Howard Shore. Thank you for creating the greatest masterpiece of a score EVER.

  • @daforceweilder7

do you know what this bits called i have loooked evrywhere :\

  • @domthechom I believe it is the last minute and a half or so of the track "The Black Gate Opens" :)

  • @daforceweilder7 you have made my morning :)

    thank you very much

  • Sam is a hero.

  • yep, im crying like a fucking baby

  • Comment removed

  • Sam is the greatest friend ever. What everyone should aspire to be, and what everyone should have in their life.

  • What the name of the song?

  • @verycoyman into the west by howard shore

  • @CustardColonel Not true actually. It's "The black gate opens". Look it up :)

  • Where can you download these clips??

  • Is there a theme song for this scene?

  • I am sooooo Happy That Sam won an award for this role. He totally deserved it. I cried like a baby in the theater.

  • "Don't You Lose Him, Samwise Gamgee!"

  • this is what friendship is about and people who mock this scene have no understanding of the value of true friendship and as such must be treated like village idiots

  • This always makes me bawl my fucking eyes out. arghh. it's so beautiful.

  • ALL HAIL TO YOU, SAMWISE GAMGEE, YOU BRAVE MOTHERFUCKER!

  • SAM IS THE REAL LORD OF THE RINGS!!

  • advertisements ruining youtube

  • I have a sam and she is my best friend ever!

  • Most epic scene of the trilogy

  • Sam is so crushed when he sees Frodo's destruction. I think he realizes at this moment that Frodo is not coming out of this whole or at all.

  • Sam- such a wonderful character

  • Having the friend like this, one can move the whole world.

  • fucking youtube ads D:

  • I think what people forget is not only did they destroy the ring, they had to do it without any shoes, and Mount Doom looks very rocky.

  • @mildale They have natural, leathery soles.

  • @mildale hobbits don't wear shoes you nerdtard.

  • @HTSGOSU That's what I said.What a strange comment to what is obviously a joke.

  • @mildale Their feet have extra layers of skin, they don't need shoes unless to prevent infections, lol

  • Sam looks like he's doing all the work. He should be the real hero =o

  • I don't cry in movies very often. But I cried at this scene.

  • @88Trafalgar

    without gollum as well ;D

  • @arynzerr Without Sauron also, cuz it would not have been made.

  • As a Christian, I sometimes imagine that I am Frodo, and God is Sam. God can't get rid of my problems for me, but he can help me overcome them.

  • @Thewarrior26

even though i am an atheist and normally don't really respect believes like you stated here, this sounds like a good thing to me.

hope you will overcome everythign that my face you ;)

  • @arynzerr That's very respectful. Thank you

  • @Thewarrior26 Well, I wouldn't equate Sam with God, but God /does/ use faithful friends to speak to us and help us through. :-)

  • Life has a feeling the protected will know because you've never lived until you've almost died. Having almost died together and survived is one of the most beautiful things in the world. No matter what, anyone who shares a moment like that with me shall be my "blood" brother forever. I am thankful for that. Comraderie is what others wish they understood, but they could never understand the pain it grew out of. Still, I can't ask to not know the feeling, and I love it. It's beautiful. I cry. :)

  • You can carry me any time Samwise Gamgee.

  • This might just be the best scene in the whole trilogy. Sam stops at nothing and refuses to carry the Ring for Frodo, but he will do whatever he can to help. It's more beautiful and more moving than anything in any other film series (except for maybe a close tie with Darth Vader throwing the Emperor off the balcony in Return of the Jedi (Star Wars)).

  • I can't carry it for you... but I can carry you !!

  • Frodonis SO ADORABLE

  • @MrHelviti Yeah one was called Gollum, one was called Smeagol, one was called ThePrecious, and one was called StupidFatHobit :P

  • His will was set, and only death would break it. ~Tolkien, LOTR

  • naked in the dark?? oh dear :L

  • No1 loves any1 more than Sam loves Frodo!

  • I have just gazed into the face of all that is epic.

  • this makes me cry every time i watch it... sam is the true hero behind this whole story, it may take a lot to bear the ring, but it takes more to bear the bearer.

  • This is almost the best scense of the Lord of the Rings!

  • Sam was the strongest of them all. He could carry the weight of the world.

  • @Kedane87 OMG,. goosebumps with your words

  • did you know sam is also the boy from the goonies ?

  • WTF FUCK IS THIS MUSKETER ADVERTS SHIT I WANT LOTR

  • Friendship beyond bounders. Sam is the true hero.

  • whats the song called when he carrys him up mount doom?

  • Comment removed

  • This scene gets me every time.

    Team Samwise! Haha

  • what is the name of the music in the background?

  • I this isn´t an Oscar...what is?

  • In return of the king, Frodo was the sidekick.

  • Oh, SAM...

  • I wish that we all could have our own Samwise Gamgee.

  • AWESOME scene!! LOVE IT! =)

  • 1:34 to 2:07 BEST SCENE! I JUST LOVE IT! I saw the extended edition in theaters and started an applause when this part come up :)

  • I hate it when people think they are gay, i think it is sad that people nowadays dont understand true friendship and loyalty!

  • i can't watch this scene without crying.

  • and this is the reason why films are made

  • I really wish people will stop trying to undermine Frodo and Sam’s friendship. There is NOTHING funny about this scene. It is touching and heartfelt – Sam’s talking about the land they left and all it means to them. It is the epitome of true comradeship, a scene that touches even the most stone-hearted audience.

I really wish I had my own Samwise Gamgee.

  • @Ikera19

Don't we all wish that we had a Samwise Gamgee? A true wingman...

  • @Ikera19 As someone who has their own Samwise Gamgee.. I spend a lot of time thanking him for being who he is to me. I would not be where I am now without my Samwise. This scene is beautiful. There is no humor here. It is friendship, it is the core of friendship. "I CANT CARRY IT FOR YOU, BUT I CAN CARRY YOU!"

    Wow.

  • @FrappuccinoMe dude... get laid.

  • i love how he calls him mr. frodo :3

  • I get the chills when he picks up Frodo

  • This scene is the ultimate reason why Sam is my favorite character.

  • i cry every time i watch this movie

sometimes they are tears of sadness.... and sometimes they are tears of happiness

i was even crying watching this video

  • Cry every time.

  • I just received an email from YouTube saying YouTube wants to put advertisements on this video so I can get some money...hell no!

  • @turtleworm but you did anyways...

  • @lolisho0 I see no ads on my side. If so, then it was certainly not by choice, and I'm sorry.

  • @turtleworm . Yep. There's ads for me to. But I clicked in it so you can grab a few coins. You're wellcome.

  • @lolisho0 there are no ads..

  • @kohakuspirit for me it is

  • @turtleworm Nice ads.

  • @turtleworm pretty sure putting ads on something that isnt yours is illegal anyway

  • @turtleworm

you get money for posting copyrighted work?

  • How is this song called from 1:35

  • So many of my friends say "oh god lotr is just a 4hr movie about walking!! And frodo and sam are gay!" and i just roll my eyes and say that is because ur brain is too small to understand the humanitarian ideals and power that comes from this movie. No one I talk to truly understands the beauty of this film and everything it stands for.
