  • I love these guys

  • @kerednotsobig1 shame he hated kids out of the ring whereas Haystacks was a gent as was Mal Kirk RIP

  • Did Big Daddy wrestle outside of Great Britain? When Giant Haystacks came to the US, I thought it was great. But they didn't show him the respect they should of with a man of his credentials in my opinion. Because of Giant Haystacks, I started looking him up on here and took an interest in wrestling from Great Britain and Catch Wrestling. RIP Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks. Great performers.

  • @scorpioswrath: I don't think he ever wrestled in the Americas as he had retired due to the Kirk death which was before American and Canadian wrestling had started to become popular in the UK. In fact I recall that after BD's retirement, WOS started to cover WWF matches opposed to British wrestling.

  • @kanenkitten Nope, never, No WWF on WoS. Sanitised WCW on ITV Saturday afternoons many years later.

  • @makkari1: I have seen a video here on youtube where it had the WOS opening titles but was advertising wwf matches and had Gene Okerland hosting.

  • @kanenkitten Link away. Mean Gene was with WCW around the time WCW was shown on ITV, but if you can provide the link, I will have learned something new.

  • @makkari1: watch?v=H-n83iG6F1Q

Its a shorter version of the one I saw originally and is just the titles but it does show that WOS did run wwf matches.

  • This was shit!

  • Great to see all these again, good old days many thanks

  • I must say Giant Haystacks looks down right svelt in this clip

  • i wish i was old enough to bet... £5 big daddy e.w

  • just don't do it on a match between BD and Kendo Nagasaki

  • lol. did Kendo have 'im?

  • Yes, once

  • I heard that big daddy & giant haystacks were once tag team partners, does anyone know if thisb is true, if so is it available on youtube?

  • Yes its true they were both badies

  • it is true, when wrestling first started on TV they were both heels and were a tag team and used to ram each other to prove their strength

  • On one of the British Wrestling DVD's, Daddy and 'Stacks tag against a couple of light-heavyweights (guess who won?)

Basically, Daddy just didn't cut it as a heel - it was better for him to stay on his tag rope shouting "easy, easy" whilst the lighter guy got punished!

  • heres a video with them as partners:

just type in: Haystacks and Big Daddy Tag Team

  • Just what i was looking for thanks

  • What is Big Daddy's theme song (entrance)???

  • We shall not be moved by The Seekers.

  • you got the biggest man in wrestling history and you make him a wuss wtg british wrestling

  • Haystacks wasn't bigger than Andre the Giant.

  • I know

    Haystacks was 6"11

    Andre was 7"4

  • I know everyone says Haystacks was 6'11, but honestly when he fought the Big Show who is 7'1, he was shorter than him by like 7". But, I've heard people say he was measured by the Guiness Book of Records back in the early 80s at 6'11 in shoes and like 650 lbs!

  • haha class i no wot u mean

  • class

    itv saturdays great

was it the bruiser that was killed in the ring Vs big daddy

  • Thanks for your interest. No, Bruiser was also known as 'Bully Boy' Muir. it was King Kong Kirk that died in the ring against BD. Those were the days, 4 o'clock on a Saturday afternoon. I was lucky enough to see Giant Haystacks several times in my home town of Reading.

  • saw giant haystacks at butlines in 1979 class . throwin water over the old ladys

  • @TR25W It wasn't BIG DADDY's fault that kirk died and it was said that daddy was playing by the rules. RIP Shirly Crabtree. Im a 13 year old kid who was introduced to big daddy by my parents who have seen some of his legendery matches and i love watching him.

  • @TR25W Ian Muir and Tony st Clair are still with us.Haystacks was a gent out of the ring

  • Daddy didn't kill King Kong Kirk in the match it was a heart condition that did, but Daddy blamed himself for the death so he semi-retired and when he did that it killed British Wrestling

(it was King Kong Kirk not the bruser who died)
