just some advice, put about a 2 foot by 2 foot square directly behind your mic. as your talking to the mic, some of your acoustics and high& low frequencies will get past the pop filter and mic and bounce off that wall. and nobody puts pop filter behind there mic so when it bounces off the wall, it will give your quality a bit of a dampened and and shaken sound. i like the blanket idea though! i could have saved alot of money if i would have thought of that. also bought 3 audi-mute blankets. :/
@breezytheekid - The wall behind the mic is the same as the other walls; it is filled with rock wool, so it is an acoustic absorption panel, too. I have made many changes to my booth since posting this a few years ago. Eventually I'll post an update. Thanks for watching & commenting.
@xxkitxx21 Thanks. This is a good starting point, and then you can add to it as you get the money. I'm constantly making improvements. I've upgraded my gear and added more acoustic treatments. In fact, I'm currently in the process of making a new roof out of Roxul Rockboard. I hope it works for you as well as it's worked for me.
You have a great voice and on screen presents. I if your looking for more way to promote your talent, YouTube is a great way! Some creative arts people buy songs and create their own music videos for that song. Other get the copyrights for footage and voice/sound over the footage. You can use the YouTube Video Editor, Creative Commons (royalty free footage of almost everything, e.g. cartoons) and create your own videos.
Also I'd be intresed about advice you could give on voice acting!
@motivation0125 - This video is actually quite out of date. I got a big payday last year and upgraded my gear as well as adding more soundproofing/acoustical treatments. I need to make a new video with all of my upgrades. I'll get to that soon.
I use both voices.com and voice123.com to find jobs. I also find the occasional random listing on Craigslist.
@gaozhi2007 Easier, maybe, but not cheaper and way less effective. I have some of the Auralex foam mounted on cardboard and attached it to the closet doors. But studio foam is only effective for high frequencies. The mineral wool is a better broadband absorber. ATS Acoustics sells 6 batts of 4 foot x 2 foot x 2" Roxul mineral wool for $70 after shipping. That's 50% more sq feet of a more effective material for just $10 more.
You're welcome. I have added a second layer of quilt to the ceiling, installed some studio monitors (speakers) for listening back to my recordings, and adjusted the height of the monitor to make reading off of the screen easier. Next I will be upgrading my mic. Maybe to an MXL.009 USB.

Nice, I went the USB mic route as well. I bought the Blue YETI, and I LOVE IT.

You can get Auralex Studiofoam 32 pieces (1x1 ft each) for $60 on Amazon. Just think it might be cheaper and easier.
