There have been many radical christian groups in the past, but we dont define the christian communities with the radicals as the representative. That surah refers to a specific groups of jews and christians during the prophets time that indeed were not friends of muslims. It is not referring to all jews & christians. Muslims were a very tiny persecuted minority around the time the Quran was being revealed.
