The Caddy itself the Northstar comes boxed in ain't worth a lick. The Fiero with a stock engine leaves much to be desired. Either can be had for a song. This is just one of those RARE cases in life where two WRONGS make something so, well.....RIGHT!!!

yes but you can buy a stick bell housing from Alan at CHR for 500 bucks that will bolt up to a T1, T5 or if you also buy a seperate adapter a T56.

just make sure you are pointed straight when you nail the throttle at a stop light.

Its going to go straight if you have the wheel turned to the left or right.

I ran into a curb after nailing the throttle at a stop sign.. all the weight on the rear gave me no steering when i nailed it taking a left..

i have a couple of questions. did it bolt up nicely to the tranny or did you have to make any modifications? do you know if itd be harder to do in an 88 vs another year because of the suspension and how the engine cradle and all of that is laid out?

im somewhat in the process of sticking one in the back of an 86 fiero and using the 4T80e tranny, but im thinking about shoving it in an 88 and using a getrag 5spd. i would try to use as much of the original engine cradle as i can and just fab mounts

you probably will think i sound retarded for saying this, but look into a manual transmission for a 2.2 cavalier...a friend of mine swapped in a northstar engine and all he had to do was get a flywheel from a camaro/trans am machined and everything bolted right up
