@skaterg807 That's not a red tail. It's a rainbow shark. Very similar fish. 30 won't work. They need a minimum of 50 gallons because they get quite big. A red tail shark can get 8 inches.

Dont worry its normal :O my pleco does that too and ive had him for 2 years. Plus everytime i close the lights, i sneak a peak at my tank and he goes crazy roaming around the tank looking for food :o its awesome

i had a pleco like this - in the shop it was called a leapord pleco and i had to re-home him to a friend when he got 15inch big.. the information on this pleco in the shop said it grows to 24inches long! good luck...

My albino has his down almost all the time, too. It's only up if he's jockeying for food with the catfish. I think it's a display/territorial thing.

I got this on sale pleco I'm not sure what it is can anyone help it was like the hilfin spotted pleco or something like that. He was the last one. I was so amazed he was only a dollar! He was in perfect health, perfect shape! He's tame (I can hand feed him). Hes about 3 or 4 inches and loves aquarian algae wafers. And he loves the vaction blocks. I get them just for him. He also keeps my tank (35 gallon) sooo clean!

Thats a sailfin pleco...very similar to leopard pleco but the leopard has a bit of color to them

yah i feed mine alge wafers. when he first started eating them it made a mess all the time, but when we ran out i didnt feed him them for 2 weeks and after that he stopped making so much of a mess, i still feed it them, but doesnt make that much mess

Cucumber and zuchini is good for them. I have two much smaller plecs and they can devour a decent sized chunk of cucumber in two nights. They don't eat the skin. Their main food is those algae discs you buy at pet shops, though.

Try cucumber or zuccini squash in small pieces (square inch per fish), I've also given them green leafy veggetables, too.

Like midogicrazy said above....Zuccini from the grocery store....Peel off the skin and weigh it donw in the tank.....Pleco's are vegetarian and will also often eat plants inthe tank killing them off....Ill put zuccini in my tank.....Clown loach seem to like it as well

Pterygoplichthys Gibbiceps...very nice. this species in my opinion is the most beautiful species most other similar ones get flatter as they get larger and are all black but this species has a very nice shape, color, and especially fins.

How big is that tank ? Bad ass !! ... I have 3 Pleco's 1 is albino and a Synodontis eupterus (Featherfin Catfish) . they chase each other all day and night.

I think the Synodontis is the reason for the chase, sometimes the plecos even don't like each other.

I had three synodontis and they were chasing everything, they all died of old age, also my 45cm pleco (lipsarcus pardalis)!

ok I did a bit of home work on this...the species isgibbiceps...however its common name is Sailfin Pleco...guess that just confuses the hell out of everyone now...looks like we are all right..Mystix was right as well...So lets just admire it from here on...It is approx 10" - 11" in length....very cool
