I think you are all confused. Dragon Ball Z lasted for 291 episodes before it was finally strangled out, before they decided to not only make GT, but then go ahead and re-air essentially the same thing with "Kai" slapped on the end. Quite frankly, Funimation should have stopped or at least rehashed things once they lost their backing from Saban Entertainment. also as much as I enjoyed DBZ, Dragon Ball is the best and will no doubt always be.

Nowadays animes take like forever but still never end, like Pokemon...I've watched enough seasons of it, but it ended up to be a drag on so I quit it as there was no reason for me to watch it because it became simply tiring. And if you think DBZ wasn't good, then you're terribly wrong pal. It was very successful and highly appealing to many people. Sure they made mistakes, but even then it was good.

@kyuubiyura Look pal, the reason why I'm so pissed off at you is not that you have an opinion about DBZ but that you're critisizing its producers like you could've done better. Laws of physics? Formulas? IT'S AN ANIME! Why I prefer DBZ over code geass and any other modern anime is that DBZ wasn't about nice graphics or complex stories. It was epic, fun, original and memorable. I've seen a bunch of animes back then and yes, many turned out to be bad, but DBZ is certainly not one of them.

He defeated Pain but can't take down Sasuke? Clearly they try to stall it as much as they can. As for Pokemon, it simply became extremely repetitive and boring. DB was good because it didn't take 10 seasons to finish and it had memorable, funny and epic moments which is what I was talking about.

However you brought up bad examples of long animes. there are plenty of good long ones to. Take One Piece for example, it was first published in 1999, and was supposed to last five years. However Oda found himself enjoying the story to much to quit. Even with 500 some episodes it's still full of memorable scenes. And technically you fail to mention Dragon Ball GT.
