Although I'm an experienced rider, this stuff is brilliant. Great for the younger people who're learning and anyone wanting to get into biking for whatever reason. Best method of transport, I say.
Good video and glad to see a helmet on there (unlike the billions of other videos without it on YouTube).
Set an example and WEAR A HELMET, gloves and protection. How can you be taken seriously with no protection. Falling off at 5 mph is still falling off.
@fingerhorn4 Yeah and tripping while walking down a sidewalk is still falling too.. but you don't wear full protective clothing while walking on concrete do you? While it is best he has gear on as an example. it's completely understandable to realise... he doesn't need it for these examples.
Hello beginner riders, this is a great way to learn the friction zone on a bike. All bikes are different so recommend doing this to any bike you are not familiar riding on. I practice this every time I take my bike out from storage simply because it's been months since I've been on my bike and I'm not longer familiar with it.
Also this may be obvious but be sure to have the clutch lever engaged (squeeze in) when coming to a complete stop. The video mentions it briefly it is very important.
To all the haters: I am buying bike and I PLAN on taking the training course and getting my license but this is still very useful information for someone who has never ridden before.
@aleks7ai I completed the safe rider course and this is the first lesson they have you practice. My advice to you is to sign up as soon as the courses become available online. They fill up very quick and you don't want to have to wait 3 months like I did as a walk-on. Good luck and safe riding!
@DucK1100 you're an idiot. He has a full face helmet at any time the bike is actually running. He just has it off so that people can understand what he's saying!
Wtf are you talking about? He has a full face helmet on when he rides the bike. Yeah, you should take a course but there's nothing wrong or inaccurate with these videos
I suspect that the difference between those who value this video and those who don't is the same as those who call helmets "helmets," versus those who call them "lids." We don't drift, we don't wheelie, we don't do tricks, we don't drive impaired, we hardly ever have accidents. Enjoy your hospital stay, coolguys!!!
If anything though I dont agree at all with this, If I have to move my bike very slowly or slow on ice I keep my feet down dragging the road very slightly, not walking because that upsets the balance of the bike and if you want people to take you seriously then wear gloves and a lid at least
I noticed my clutch position changes drastically after it is warmed up.
