The thing I hate the most about this mission is how many pipes there are in the second part and the TIEs would bump into me and make me crash or crash into me, which is really annoying.

@carlosperezvidal yes u can be in the falcon in this mission but the downside is that when youre in the death star it gets too claustrophobic too fast due to the falcon's size.

I love this game! I'll still play once in a while. I've beaten this level more times with the falcon than the x-wing. Trick with the falcon is.....destroy the first wave on ties. Then just bolt towards the main reactor. Wedges x-wing will be just fine and won't get destroyed!!!

I remember playing this game with a friend of mine in high school. We had Rogue Squadron III which had the co op feature. But now that I own Rogue Squadron II for myself, having a 2nd player is a big pain in the ass because they might not be as good as you taking down enemy ships, or even this hard ass stage seen here! I would get frustrated as hell whenever those tie interceptors and tie fighters would fly in from behind and CRASH in to me!

Just popped this game in for the first time in a long time...and remembered how much I hate hate hate this mission. It's not even the shooting ties off Lando's back, that's fine, they sit right in front of you and don't do much fancy swerving. But it's that god damn escape section. I always lose ALL of my lives during that. Either I completely crash into something, or I bump something which realigns my trajectory to crash into something, or once, the FALCON crashed into me from behind.

fuckin shit mission, its not even the start, but the flight to the core, jesus, 2390580 TIE fighters coming and coming, you have to break or they'll shoot your ass till you die, but then again you cant let any tie escape or the mission will fail because apparently lando cant even fight off one TIE at his tail. so either I brake and hope TIEs dont crash into me or I boost because i have to chase a TIE behind, while trying not to fly into pipes and walls. just detsroyed my  controller in rage

I had to use the unlimited lives cheat, and kept crashing on the second part because I went crazy trying to destroy all the TIE fighters following the Falcon. This mission seems to depend a lot on your luck... I think I almost got Gold (Or at least silver) in my first "successful" try (After a lot off tries, I made it to the core with no deaths. Although, admittedly, I cheated killing myself just before going into the tunnel, to restore my life)...

Too bad then I died 3 times in the tunnel. Well, it was my first time playing that part xD

But yeah, it takes a lot of practice =P I just finished it with bronze medal, so I guess I'm done :D

0n Rebel Strike, there is a two-player version of this mission which is just about the most difficult thing in the world to complete successfully. If you are insane enough to play that mission with somebody you consider your friend, your goal shouldn't be a medal, but simply not to stab Player 2 in the face after they crash their damn ship into the side when you BOTH were almost safely out! Time to start again!

I remember when I was playing this stage that if only 2 TIE fighters starting blasting the Falcon, that was it. How did you avoid getting the "Falcon destroyed" cutscene near the beginning? I found this game a bit challangeing levels I had a time with were - Prisons of Kessel , The Razor , Battle of Endor...But The Death Star Tunnel Run...Once i got in the tunnel it was easy...but when you're on the outside it was hard for me

Nice job, dude! I could never beat this mission with the X-Wing. The Millenium Falcon always gets destroyed in the first second I start this mission. When I play this mission as the Millenium Falcon, it's easier because the X-Wing you have to defend is invincible; it almost never gets shot down if you boost ahead of it.

You know I love this game! I found this level almost impossible to start out with, but then, when I got inside the core I was like - WOAH this is X Wing Alliance times a million! An absolute classic, and the exhiliration you get from getting out of the core JUST in time still has a brilliant effect.
