A small thing I've noticed about older cartoons that makes them so fantastic is their use in music for all the characters actions. It just makes come together so much better. Back then you could talk about things in the world in cartoons and kids weren't viewed as idiots. Now they are idiots. Hence the decline in shows. Spongebob was the start of it.

I'd just like to point out the Pope part at 1:22 and the sheer genius of it!

It's already funny in itself, but what always got to me, was that I'm a 100% sure that the first take was an actual blooper in the recording studio. But the voice actor is so incredibly talented that he just rolled with it and improvised, and they kept it, because it was so awesome! Sheer genius! :D
