mas poxa isso não precisa exatamente ser tão rápido o soar dos galopes de cavalo não soou o cavalo não corre tanto assim né ele é tecnicamente brilhante mas acho que se ele quer mostrar tecnicas deveria tocar paganini!!
You have to appreciate the amount he puts into the double stops, much more than Hilary I'm sad to say, but hers will always be my personal favorite. But The last few notes symbolizing the boy being dead weren't what I was hoping for, I wish they were more legato but I guess you can't always get what you want :)
Everyone berates him for taking it too fast, but if you actually read the poem, it's about a galloping horse... I think the tempo is relatively accurate.
A sublime performance, in my opinion. Not exactly immaculate, but impressive nonetheless.
Not impressed at all. Such an amazing piece and he trashed it. He's a great violinst but his tempo is crazy. I've never heard the original this fast so I don't know where he got that. I think he needs to rethink his "interpretation" of this and sit down with hilary hahn, then try again. There are supposed to be 4 distinct voices. Where are they? It's scratchy and out of tune. WOW.
Certainly exciting. I'm not very familiar with this piece, but doesn't he add some double stops? Empty calories, though--doesn't characterize the different voices at all. As someone else has remarked, Hahn actually plays the song, not just 4 minutes of fast staccato.
Bach would be the best music to enhance the quality of this violin... Mr. Fulton owns violins as good if not superoior to this one. The Vieuxtemps is victim of exagerated publicity. Bein and Fushi wants to create a myth...Money is their main goal...
@dziady1 see the problem is of time. the amount of hours he had to practice that slowly in order to perform it consistently perfect at any time, theres just no time to learn anything else :)
he makes it look so easy!!!

I think he plays beautifully. Is it me or does he have the longest fourth finger ever?
MoesTube1 1 year ago
Like Heifetz he really enjoys fast tempi! (Which is not always the most musical solution).
MrFpam 1 year ago 2
@MrFpam You're right about the fast tempi. However unlike Heifetz, Barati sounds stingy and antsy.
moldyoreo 1 year ago
@moldyoreo I agree. I don't like this at all.
Hilary Hahn's slower version is much more expressive and more enjoyable.
Barati is occasionally out of tune too!
MrFpam 1 year ago
@MrFpam Yes, Hahn's is much better. One can actually hear the different voices. Barati's Erlkonig needs some ritalin.

Actually, I believe that it is on sale now for $18 million. Yes, 1-8-million. Not 1.8 million. No kidding. At Bein and Fushi's. I think.

@rwocmo yes you´re right. 18million

For my tastes his tempo is a bit fast. The Erlkonig has had a bit too much coffee it seems...

A superb performance -but should lay this to rest
once and for all - he is too good to keep this calling
card in his bag of violin tricks -there is other beautiful
violin music awaiting his talents .
