  • Did a dog run out in front of you at 0:12? lol

I like how it looks like rice but has a 350 under the hood. Have you taken it to the track? I can't see you getting much traction but interested to see what it runs

  • Regardless he's doin it and this comes from a Honda owner.2 Thumbs up man

  • a fuqking 1.6L Vtec runs harder than that Shxt

  • it need a harder suspencion

  • While its not my style... its freakin cool. I bet it took a lot of work and it deffinetly will be a hell of a wake up call for some people on the road. Nice job.

  • ok so i see a honda and im looking somewhere in the screen for a mustang!! lol

  • @ARG3NT1N1AN i would look for a camaro not a mustang. its a chevy motor....

  • @gettingslow840 aahhahahahaha win

  • very nice!

  • How about putting the VTEC Variable Valve Timing into a small block or a Buick Nailhead? Hide it so it doesn't show to the untrained eye and use the pushrod OHV set up.

  • Wow this tranny ruined it for me. I dislike the lack of control an auto gives. With a stick, you control everything, less things to get fucked up. Plus autos sound stupid with exhaust. ;D The crackle of dropping the clutch is what makes an exhaust in my opinion.

  • Looks good, but why does that V8 sound like a ricer again?

  • You need stiffer suspension up front, maybe some new struts/shocks. It bounces too much. Love how you put a real american muscle engine in a ricer car though! One of the few import cars I approve of, good job!

  • or you can get a legit v8 instead of forcing something into a piece of shit honda

  • @TheRznballa Well I'm an avid car enthusiast and I think you don't have any fucking CLUE how much planning/fabrication/building goes in to something like this. Trust me, I know, my crazy ass got a 400 cube Pontiac into a Datsun 120Y, just for the pure fucking fun. And he can always take the engine out of this Honda and put it into something else that he didn't build, but that would defeat the purpose.

  • very nice! looks good

  • there is a styx song going thru my head right now.."too much time on my hands"

  • dam!!!!!! your probably gona have to put that thing on the frame machine every weekend hahaha

  • hmm...is it just me or does it seem like its holding back. Is this not full throttle

  • You need to stiffen up the suspension.

  • I'm really surprised you went with Automatic transmission. But it seems to be good

  • @Mrcafe313 when you build an auto right and with manual valve body, its a faster shifting trans than a manual..i actually have an lt1 and t-5 in it now

  • @crxV8 yeah It is normally faster. I don't know much about transmissions, but I don't really trust automatic when it comes to something so powerful, not that it wont hold up. Obviously you've done an exceptional job on the entire car so I have faith in your work. haha

  • @crxV8 yeah, but they're no fun. autos are whack.

  • @Mrcafe313 did you know that the gmc syclone goes faster with a auto than a manuel

  • @wtl1964 well yeah...you need a 2 foot long floor shifter in the s-series...you cant speed shift with a mini baseball bat unless youre godlike on a shifter

  • @netrioter what about my shifting

  • @wtl1964 It was never available with a manual transmission. Nor was the Typhoon.

  • @madtownmadman no shit thats why it is auto it was slower a stick

  • @Mrcafe313 .. drag raced for many years and you will find that most fast race cars are automatic.. most of mine were autos with slap sticks when I was racing..

  • it seem that when you mix american with japan it fucks all the jdm children up the ass. Nice swap.

  • it does my heart good to see a chevy motor in a honda haha especially a V8 :-)

  • a type r would still munch that

props to the builder for the concept real good idea but realisticly no matter how much work you have done and will do to it in the future your gunna have s many problems

  • @RockStarrRyan type r would run low 11s/10s n/a? and its actually very reliable and havent had any issues with it at all...if you build a car properly it wont be problems

  • @crxV8 true like i said fucking sweet idea im sure its hella fun to drive, and as u said as long as you build it right there wont be problems wich you probly have done so good on you man u got any new vids

  • @RockStarrRyan no new videos yet, im in the process of finishing a fuel injected lt1 with a t5 5speed in the car now so should be ready for spring

  • @crxV8 L O FUCKING L @ 10/11 second car. In your fuckin dreams lol

  • sell seeing that its a 2200lb car with 350+hp and 350+torque with a 3.73 rear end and quick ratio trans yes. u sir have absolutely no idea as to what this car will run. have a great day and go hate on more videos, because you are soo much better than everyone else and are your cars

  • @crxV8 hey buddy great job have you tried running times. Also it sounds a bit sluggish right now not sure if its the exhaust or what. Love the chirping tires lol

  • @blackjdmdeath concidering a 200hp crx with no torque can do 12s whats so funny bout 11's?

  • @RockStarrRyan didnt your mama tell u if u cant find anything nice to say,.........kindly shut your hating ass up.

  • @M45Sebring didnt your mother ever tell you that the dommy broke an u were actuly never ment to be born u cheap sack of potatoes

  • @RockStarrRyan hey chill out guys...never wouldve thought a car that i always wanted to build for fun would cause all this drama

  • did you have to do major reinforcing of the engine compartment, considering it was meant for light 4banger, not heavy v8?also, i'm guessing you had to beef up entire frame to deal with the force from crazy torque outta v8

  • @891trigfoot well seeing its rwd now, i built a custom subframe connecting an mk3 supra front crossmember, steering rack, brakes, and suspension assembly to the rear end of an mk3 supra (independent with full suspension, brakes etc also) so its very rigid and not fwd, and handles the power exceptionally well

  • wow that is clean. awesome job man.

  • That shit is fucking kick ass!!!!! Genius, pure genius!!!!!

  • If your gonna convert to RWD, why not a 2JZ instead of the 350?

  • @ihateu1979 because i want instant torque, no turbo lag, a motor i can get cheap and build cheap to have great hp and torque, because its not as long and fits well, i dont get what you are implying? a 350 will put out more power than a 2jz if you stick the same amount of money into them..displacement, no matter what always wins that battle

  • @100silverpizza no? its rwd, with an mk3 supra independent rear suspension setup, and crossmember from an mk3 supra, it handles great, you can kick the back end out, and the power to weight is crazy...what else can you ask for?

  • you shouldve just went b20vtec supercharged/turbo bro..im not here to criticize you, im just saying! but i give it to you cuz i know that was ALOT of work!

  • @vtecnegro85 but i dont want that...i had a boosted b16 in it...fwd is boring...plus the amount of torque from the v8, with slicks, can pick the front end up no problems...in addition being able to kick the back end out instantly is much better than a fwd that is "faster" i dont care about straight line speed i like to have fun in my cars around tracks

  • Thats sweet ass hell needs to be louder though. and needs stronger sup in front

  • Nice work.... Wouldn't mind one myself. A combo of my 2 favorite cars.

  • 1900lbs + v8 = ticket lol

  • GOOD JOB MAN!! RUNS FAST N STILL LOOKS GOOD!!!!

  • OMFG WTF??? LMAO!!! Neat!

  • lol nice... Man i would be soo lucky if I could see this car race a vette or any sports car with a V8 and get its ass handed to it by this and then hear that V8 sound has it flew by em... That would be fuckin hilarious

  • Why don't you honda fanboys use a honda V8? Oh wait! Honda doesn't have a V8 because they are not fast or performance oriented!

  • @chorstma44 Not fast or performance oriented? Are you serious? You sounded REALLY stupid right there....

  • @DjDirtySkillet Honda's are Japanese economy cars. If you really want a high performance japanese car, get a supra. If anything get a S2000 at the very least. That is the only Honda that is actually made to be a higher performance car and actually looks pretty decent

  • @chorstma44 you can mod most Honda's though and make it faster than most V8's my bro has a civic hatch turbo and we smoke V8's all day like blunts...

  • @DjDirtySkillet You must be smoking some bad blunts to think you can smoke any V8. Sure you put 10 grand into a $500 car to make it fast, but stressing that little economy engine like that will shorten its life a lot and you dont produce your power until over 5k rpm

  • @chorstma44 Honda doesn't put V8 in their road cars. Only their race cars like formula one and the HSV.

  • @chorstma44 Not the only one, NSX????

  • @ihateu1979 The NSX has a 3 liter V6. They do not make them with a V8, Honda does not produce a V8 or any kind. Know your facts

  • @chorstma44 Honda does make V8's for Formula One and Indy

  • @satinISsexy theres no understeer in this car...understeer= front end push, oversteer= drift ass end out...? he makes complete sense

  • that is one of the best things I've ever seen!!!!!!!!

  • that did not look fast

  • The only honda video I've been to where people are praising it.

    It's cause it's a CRX, and It's a V8 CRX. And it's awesome.

  • thats hot what a piece of engineering awesome car

  • So glad I did this to my RX7 hahaha

  • Why would anyone fuck up a CRX with a V8!!

  • @PEREZCHOOCH Fuck up? He blessed it.

  • @Vallejoonmamas The most I would do for a CRX is swap a K series into it but 2 go ahead a put an 8 into it that's like me buying a Shelby Mustang and taking out the 8 and putting in a Honda H22a1 into it...YOU JUST DON'T DO IT!!!!

  • @PEREZCHOOCH y? its like shelby, taking a european small bodied car and putting a v8 in it...same concept, its something different that nobody has done...u say y, i say y not.. dont respect a man for his time, work, and fabrication skills? rather bash because its not what you want to do to a honda...think outside the box outside honda motors...driving experience is amazing compared to a fwd

  • @PEREZCHOOCH

Beats that awful angry farting bees noise...

  • hahah i bet u could do little bouncing wheelies

  • @shinyfuzzy that was with old suspension and bad struts. now its stiff and yes if i had slicks the front end would be off the ground without issue

  • sp how much did it cost to convert to rwd???

  • @cbcrog cant really put a cost to it, its time and fabrication

  • @crxV8 i see what kind of back end did you use? Like did you pull it off of something or was it customed made, frankensteined together or what?

  • lol@ the haters. haters gonna hate. But i give ya props... bad ass civic.

  • Bro, it's rear wheel drive now... And it's a CRX... If you understeer, it's because you're missing all of one arm and 3/4 of your other one, and physically can't turn the wheel fast enough.

  • @sprungms hahaha so ture

  • I have owned a 91 CRX since new that has never seen a winter etc. The car you have modded. actually looks nice for all the work you've put into it. Some modded Rex's look hideous to me.

  • Comment removed

  • now you have good dependable power, badass

  • Needs suspension work, looks like you would get sea sick in that thing!

  • @sorich this is very old, i have much better suspension in front now

  • @crxV8 i want it :( my favorite style of honda with one of the best motors made

  • @crxV8 this is cool and all but its still only a 350 chevy ...... nothing that special ... now look up twin turbo 350 civic ... theres real power ... but i have to give you mad props for stepping a toy car up to the big boys with that v8 ;)

  • @hatchetknight thanks, but i still mod 4 cylinders daily.. nothing wrong with them at all, esp. subarus. anyways, i wasnt going for insane power, just daily driveable fun, reliable power that can still kick ass on tracks, and get sideways

  • That is unreal, you must have put a lot of time planning and effort into that. Great job, wont see that everyday, one in a billion.

  • if that runs anything higher that an 10.5, im not trying to be mean in all respect to the hardwork it took to do that, but that shit was a huge waste of time. and if you tell me yea its cause i cant hook up a noob could have told that was gonna happen. still i like that fact you took the time to fab all that shit up you should and done an ef sedan to put some wieght on that ass

  • @gaberson3819 i didnt build it to be a 1/4 mile queen. not my thing, it was build for a drivers car, a car to take to track days, get sideways and confuse other people...any1 can build a fast car

  • @crxV8 good luck getting side ways with that weight distrubution. but thats respectable im not a huge fan of crx's but if your willing to mod one that heavy then thats respect. and yea hahah confuse the hell out of eveyone what v8 is in that. im only a Toyota and Gm guy with V8's

  • @gaberson3819 haha yea. and ive gotten it sideways plenty of times. it surprisingly does very well...seeing the engine is partially under the dash

  • @gaberson3819 I think you're thinking of an ED3. EF is a hatch. No weight in the back. Cool story though.

  • how does it handle with a heavier v8 up front now?

  • @ElMattador really well still, seeing it has a stiff supra suspension along with the motor further back and partially under the dash

  • @crxV8 so almost a 50 / 50 weight distribution i want to get a ford feista and do that put a huge v8 in it and have ppl talk shit then rape them in the trck lol

  • @generalchaos11 its a built auto trans. asshole...learn about vehicles before you jump to conclusions

  • @generalchaos11 you can't even type but you're gonna run your mouth????

sounds like an auto to me

  • How hard was it to fit a 350 into your Honda CRX,and what kind of transmision?

  • @LOST11B its a chevy transmission, and its pretty much rebuilding and fabricating a whole car, chassis, panels, subframe etc. i have multiple build threads on honda forums, just google v8crx

  • Very nice car. I shudder to think of the amount of work that went into that thing.

  • @Amras0407

Straight engine swaps, if you're experienced are easy, can do an engine and tranny in one afternoon/evening probably. It's building the engine up that takes forever, and it is also the fear that when you turn it over for the first time that it fires up properly and survives its first run. This makes me miss my old Turbo SRDET AE86 :(

    but now I'm attemping a 2.4 turbo swap into a 95 neon. :D

  • @zaio112 You didn't have to move the firewall to fit it? I didn't think there would be room in a CRX engine bay for anything mounted longitudinally...especially since the few I've seen, the stock engine just seemed to be crammed in there.

  • @Amras0407 the 2.4 swap is a direct bolt on, its mounting the intercooler and the turbo set-up itself that becomes a little bit of a task. lol not much room to work.

  • whats the sound at :12 doesnt sound like its losing traction sounds more like slamming on the brakes

  • @matthewrockslol22 slamming on the brakes. brake check with new master cylinder setup

  • auto?

  • @s1dnac1t was built up th350. now i have an lt1 and t5 5 speed in it

  • Why an LT1? Hopefully you just had one laying around.

  • @sntslilhlpr6601 cheap, fuel injected, easy power, reliable, obd1 which is easy to modify the fuel system, bolts up to a t-5. because i dont have money for an ls1. i can go on and on as to why. plus this one is not stock

  • @crxV8 Cool man. I have a buddy that wants to drop an LS in his vette and you're right on about it not being cheap. You can find an inexpensive block but everything else is high dollar.

  • crazy...a nice sounding crx!! looks like a ton of work was needed to get this thing together...nice job!

  • Its the fab skills and actually finishing a project thats amazing. Very cool and fun.

There is also a guy that placed a 4g63 motor from a DSM into a Fox body Mustang, and that bitch is bad.

  • i dont understand the people that bash on a civic with a v8. to the people that actually work on their own car modifying and fabricating, this is inspirational and very unique. they are just jealous because they know they dont have the skill to diy or the money to pay someone else to do it.

  • This is an amazing car!

Check out the whole build on

    superhonda

  • @MrGuvEuroman thankyou. im actually updating it all right now, lt1, t5 manual trans, exterior is going back to more stockish, with a lip etc.

  • Pretty sick... always imagined what it'd be like to throw a small block in a civic. Nice build.

  • Ok.. so, I have a 2000 ex coupe and a v8 350 silverado. Basically both are just sitting, I've been working on doing a wire tuck for the civic, however after seeing this... It makes me wonder, since neither are a daily driver. Do you think it could be done in a coupe, pretty much have everything in it striped down and motor/tran is out. Rear end on the silverado is gone and haven't replaced, starts right up and runs fine though. Just haven't put a new rear end in it. Now you have me thinking lol.

  • doesnt look to fast should punch it... how much did ya spend btw?

  • @MrTEAMNOOB well seeing that it hit 90mph in less than a 1/4mile driveway in that video, im pretty sure its fast lol. and money not much at all, mainly time and work. without the car, maybe 2 grand at most for metal, engine, trans, crossmembers rear end and steering assembly with brakes etc. from a supra.

  • @crxV8 deeeeeeeeeyum! have u taken that to the tracks yet?... if u do plz plz plz post a vid up

  • @MrTEAMNOOB havent yet. going to do some drift days with it now with the new motor and trans setup from a 94 z28 camaro (lt1) and hydro ebrake

  • @crxV i see damn... nice proj XD... thats something new..

  • @MrTEAMNOOB thanks!

  • YEAH!

    A half-breed like me!

  • DOPE

  • This is insane!! if this thing pulled up next to me, I'd to a triple take. Absolutely insane. Love it!!

  • This is pretty awesome man...albeit I wouldn't have gone with a FWD for a v8 conversion but this is pretty badass. Gonna do the whole v8 thing with a Toyota Starlet got a SBF 260 getting ready to go in it. Amazing car...post more videos of this thing would like to see the interior...got a thing for fabrication I would like to see the firewall especially.

  • @driftlogic hay thanks, and a starlet would be amazing with a v8 lol. search v8crx in google and youll find a couple of my build threads

  • @crxV8

Made it to page 20 lol...ill check back on it later. Seems like you went through hell on this build, not only from the car but from a few people on that thread? You sir, are a brave soul lol. Amazing story too going through school and building this car you ever try to get this thing in a mag? I think you could if you wanted regardless of anything this car is awesome and you did a really one of a kind build with this, FAV for sure.

  • @driftlogic thanks again..and i got it in a midwest magazine (online mag.) tunermaneuvermag. com

and yeah theres alot of people that dont think outside bolt ons and honda motors in honda cars that people have done plenty of times. o well its cars, personal preference isn't the same with people. and after the lt1 and t-5 swap im doing now ill try to get it in a magazine.

  • nice car man, looks like it woulda been fun putting it together, i did a old honda hatch back in highschool, cut it in half, and took 5inches outa it and welded it back together then turned it into a forklift lol, ive got a few pictures, never got to finish it though, its nice to see something diffrent, outa the norm, i dont think the hole point is for people to say o i know something that can beat it, theres always someone with something better, this looks like just a fun project, A++ Congrats

  • @TDOTKID0329 exactly, and i appreciate it!

  • @crxV8 np man

  • I must say this is the nicest honda/chevy small block conversion that I've ever seen and this is my first one! Great job and keep up the good work!

  • hate hondas!!! love this!! tiny body big motor looks like fun

  • great work

  • this is baddass in some many ways i can't explain....keep up the good work. id like to see this ran at a track

  • how could a v8 fit in there lmao how long did that take u? is there a guide to this or did u just know how to do it...

  • @bacbodyspray about a year of work..and theres no guide, the first daily driveable streetable v8crx. i know how to do alot of fabrication etc.

  • becuz wheelies in reverse look wierd

  • uneducated, i have been working on cars for 32 yrs buddy,..i want being rude, i even said nice car, alright,..

so dont call people uneducated you dont even know me,..and i have had 100s, of cars,..race cars, chevys , imports, etc,..have a nice day,..if you respond back with a rude , it will be blocked or deleted,..

  • @tonto20091 same goes for here. im tired of people telling me another car with beat it, that isnt the point of the car. i apologize, i have to defend what ive built because ive put so much time and effort into it. i thank you for complimenting the car, just the way i read response was almost of an uneducated 16 yr old with a civic that thinks its the worlds fastest car and knows only that car... once again i apologize seeing that isnt the case. i try to not be rude to people for i myself hateit

  • nice car, need to put some flow masters make it sound nice,..

but i beta a turbo boost civic will get that car,..

the car sounds like it has alot of bolt ons, doesnt sound like to many internals,..

    but it is, nice,..

  • @tonto20091 umm? its 12:1 compression, heavy duty rods, 2:02 heads with dual valve springs, alliance race cam, heads decked .10, torker intake manifold, etc. this isnt a honda buddy, it has a flow master on it i dont give a shit about if a turbo honda can beat it. its not about straight line speed its rwd now and its much more fun to drive than a fwd honda. before you comment read my build threads see what ive done to the car and all the work i put into it, then comment.

  • Respond to this video... o and btw it has about 360 ft/lbs of torque, a honda motor could never touch that..ur comments are completely uneducated and completely assumed, theres no way to tell if the car has "internals" by that clip, which it does.

  • what a honda should sound like

  • need some harder struts in that thing

  • @spenceronni7 this is an old video. thats been updated along with the bumper

  • The only CRX I respect :) ...though it's automatic, but that can be replaced :D

  • @TransAmDrifter not anymore-t5 and lt1 powered

  • @crxV8 Oh :) GREAT then! :D Respect for Your work mate :) I am making a rally version out of a Lada 2107, so I know how it is to make a car DIY style :D Cheers!

  • @crxV8 damn!!!

  • PINKS ALL OUT!!!!!

  • i dont like hondas but i like this one

  • Ha Ha thats so badass. Now thats a badass Honda. Even though its not a honda anymore cuz you put a v8 in it lol.

  • sweet ride man what front and rear did you use and what did you cut the sub frame from.. over all bad ass car man

  • @shadowcowboy93 mk3 supra front and rear mated to the subframe i made running through the car

  • @crxV8 awsome work man i really tip my hat off to you let me know when you put video of it after you put the 5 speed in it

  • @shadowcowboy93 i appreciate it, and i will be sure to have a couple videos

  • Suspension needs some work. Otherwise a pretty nice swap.

Thought, now it´s definately no econemy car anymore ;_)

  • Sweet shit. Only thing is we're supposed to kill v8's with 4cyl not join them.
