Dead sleep ferret

im thinking of getting a ferret in augest my question is are they hard to look after? ps im 14 turning 15

@Cizza225 I just got 2 ferrets, they aren't that hard to take care of but you have to handle them alot, and they are prone to certain disease, but honestly, they are the funnest cutest little things ever. And while they are EXTREMELY hyper when they are awake, they sleep like 18 hours a day.

@oce90210 You can get them de-scented, or some pet shops sell them de scented

@AppleJacksAlex You shouldn't descent. Descenting is cruel and unnecessary (major surgery to remove anal glands) as the smell is actually produced through fur and skin above all. A simple neutering or spaying will reduce the smell MUCH more, and spaying is mandatory with females anyway as any unspayed females that aren't bred will die from anaemia. :( So remember, for a happy ferret with a long life, spay, don't descent. :)

if you bend them too far then yes. but they have a spine that is like a snake, so it's very hard to break

no one can hurt it because their spin i soo flexible that u can hold then and fling then them alover the place and it dosn't do crap to the i love them i use to have one but it died. it did do this dead sleep thing and it scares the shit out of me lol

It looks dead.Its so scary but i want a ferret so bad.Are they annoying pets and hard to take care of or are they easy to take caare of like cats.I want a fun animal but not too fun

they're pretty awesome. they can get really hyper sometimes. my dad has 4 of them and i have a cat. they arent very hard to take care of though. you have to bathe them at least every two weeks cus they have a really different smell ha ha. but they are really cool. my old ferret was never in a cage. she was litter box trained and she slept with me at night. they sleep a lot ha ha. they'er mostly nocturnal though. but they are super cute

@KatieKhaos1 bathing them once a month is almost too often, theyre supposed to smell, if you dotn like the smell you probably shouldnt own them over bathing can really hurt ferrets, makes em super itchy and that really destroys quality of life

@KatieKhaos1 Actually you're not supposed to bathe them that often.(Trust me I've been doing online/book research for 5 hrs >.<) You just bathe them once a month, and they can be difficult and require some time. :P
