  • Top cover...everything perfect...at the start I thought the images were too obvious, not adding anything, but later on they became really strong...well done...

  • You should be very proud of this work. You completely nailed the song and the video is just brilliant.

  • Comments like this make it all worth the effort. I appreciate yours very much.

  • So if a person's country is attacked, in this case being the USA, and if the person protects his citizens, then he's somehow a dark, misguided angel? Your pictures associated with such beautiful lyrics and your thoughts are shallow and speak to a simpleton mind. And your lonliness. I feel sorry for you.

  • I saw an interview somewhere with Neil Finn (who wrote the song) and yeah, this is essentially what the song is about. So either Mr. Finn is also a simpleton or perhaps Mr. Castille here has a bit deeper mind than you do.

  • Jeff, it is one thing to be attacked and consequently "defend one's country". It is another altogether when one is attacked and you use that attack as an excuse to go after another country (Iraq) for personal vendettas or oil-based motives. Bush et al drug us into their own dark medicine... we're still suffering from their so-called "cure"..The simpleton is not the creator of this video.

  • pour le monde pas pour la guerre

mais aussi pour la vie peace and love

  • Merci pour le beau commentaire.

  • Good cover of a great song.

Didn't pick up the war thread until you pointed it out, though I've heard the idea before. I'm not too anti-Bush, and I think this song has a bit of sympathy for him as someone who lost control of their life? Rather people near him kind of took hold. We'll never really know of course.

The whole angel ascending and whatnot, perhaps Neil is commenting that Bush perhaps thought of himself as a saviour and wanted to do good but pretty much screwed up.

  • Hey thanks for the input on this. I spent so much time working on the song that these images gradually took form in my mind - for better or worse. Originally I wasn't planning to do a video for this song, and I think the imagery would be somewhat different today (a year later). Thanks again.

  • Great Job! Love the song & Finn and love the slide show. So glad that Bush is out of the office and sad for the damage that he and his people did. Hope for change and hope our people come home soon. God Bless them all.

  • This is a stunning cover of the song, which is one of Neil's finest, and the slide show is absolutely perfect. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

  • Exceptional cover of a haunting Finn tune.

    Kudos.

  • I really like your cover of the song, it shows off what a simple, beautifully haunting melody it has, while adding other qualities too. Good visuals too, though us Brits tend to think it's about Blair rather than Bush ("he is not a dog" referring to the common jibe about Blair being Bush's poodle. Hope "Pour Le Monde" enters the canon of classic songs.

  • Thank you very much for that. I hadn't thought of the Blair/dog connection till you pointed it out, even though I'd heard the "Bush's poodle" reference many times.

  • Neil Finn wrote is as an anti war song so i think the imagery is quite accurate. And he's well known to despise Bush..as anyone with more than half a brain is

  • estoy sorprendido!! simplemente perfecto, me encanta

  • Absolutely brilliant!

completely different to how I interpreted the song... it's good to see how a song can touch people in different ways...

  • my ratings do not show for some reason but it does register.

  • OH yues i loved it , I liked your use of dark spaces to reflect on the images, nice unrushed, time to reflect on the issues in hand, fantastic choice of music.100% superb

May there be peace in the world, and governments run by peacemakers, not warmongers.

  • This is great Mike:) Really pretty! Nice to hear this morning! 5*****Jane
