Superb Shoot ! I'll try your experience also... :)
Asking you : did you shoot sequences (maybe ~ 100 frames each one) regularly, during that 2 hours, stacked each sequences and made a movie from results? If SO , then tell me please, each sequence was shoot once at a N minutes. What's the value of that N so for being sure about resulting movie continuity ? I am just a beginner, sorry. Gabriel
@Orcrist666 - Capturing Proms requires the use of a large smount of Gain to the CCD detector. This typically has the effect of saturating the disk area. I can usually get both with a careful setup but in this case I was only interested in the prom action happening. Its typical for most disks to show up white against the edge but I found that distracted me from the prom action so I processed the disk out of the image.
@armicheal Ah I see, it was edited out. I agree though, a saturated solar surface would have drawn the attention of viewers away from the prominences. It turned out well the way you did it. Did you use a hydrogen alpha filter to capture the prominence?

Looks really cool. May I ask why the surface of the sun is shadowed out? Coronagraph or some other technique? Or is it not visible in that waveband?

Excellent! Remarkable resolution and nicely captures the sense of movement.

@Tricyklist
Thanks I used a Lunt Solar Systems telescope for this one and a 2x barlow lens with a DMK ccd.
