While nationalizing companies is an anathema to the US, I think all BP infrastructure in the US should be nationalized. BP would have to re-invest in the US or stay out. Other companies would fill the gap and this would teach a serious lesson to all.
Tort reform legislation removes the ability for the average citizen to punish these massive criminal corporations. I recommend watching the documentary called "hot coffee" to understand how these giant criminal corporations are working hard at making sure that the people they hurt are unable to bite back.
