I am currently in college and I'm taking up Pharmacy. This video was a big inspiration to me because I had the mindset that getting my degree was going to be hell. But you made me realize that all I have to do is stay focuse and study harder. Thanks!! Oh by the way nice smile. You're so gorgeous;)
This is sooo crazy, I'm in 11th grade and I just decided I wanted to do pharmacy and like you, up until now I wanted to go into engineering. Lol Math does start too look like the matrix
Great video! I would've gone to FAMU if they'd have mailed out my application the first 3 times I called! At FAMU whites and others are considered minorites at an HBCU so they get preference. So talk what you know! The course work did seem to be 1st or 2nd year material, looked like med chem...but my hats off to him! He has found a way to balance his social life and education, and many of the dry pharmacy students I went to school with could not! Best of luck to you! Do a residency!
@bomberfun1 I think you're mad because you didn't get accepted into pharmacy school this year huh? Don't take it out on him. Study harder next time ;)
@bomberfun1 People like you are the worst. You whine about minorities not contributing to society and when you are presented with concrete evidence to the contrary you say "well he's still black so I don't care".
I did microbiology and we'd write 4-6 pages of notes in each class, and not scant notes like in this guys book margin to margin ink, though I suppose they're required to read up on their own.
honestly, i'd rather be able to talk to a pharmacist with a personality because we all know that most pharmacists have spent so much time studying that their personality has gone a little whack since high school mmk? I'd want to talk to a pharmacist who i can relate to and doesn't just recite something they memorized. This guy's got a personality and he's intelligent enough to become a pharmacist & he's got a kind heart to go into pharmacy for the people not for the money.
So just because someone is a minority means that they aren't trustworthy or diligent? His dialect is a part of him, you can't judge someone based on how they speak. A drug dealer talks like a drug dealer; and he didn't get in because he's a minority, he got in because he has the knowledge and he just happened to be a minority. You do know that minorities include other people like asians, mexicans, etc? A school wouldn't just accept someone because their asian now would they?
@bomberfun1 Yes. This "arrogant guy" is maintaining a 3.7 GPA a while having a social life. He's basically telling people that you CAN study hard, maintain good grades and have fun while in college. Does every Pharmacist have to act like they have a stick up their ass? So now, Pharmacist are just suppose to be ALL the same. Boring and serious. You really need to get out more. I would love to have this guy as my Pharmacist. And stop using the damn color card. It's getting so fkin old. Grow up.
LOL @ "The math just started looking like the matrix!" hahahah I love this video!! BIG Thumbs up! I'm studying to get my Pre-Reqs for Pharmacy and this is just motivating me even more! Love this video! Thanks so much for posting it :D
@bomberfun1 your ignorant and pessimistic opinions are almost entertaining. Unfortunately,I can't enjoy them because they actually represent your thought process..which is sad. FYI, a large number of spots were given to whites over minorities. So your assumption that I made it simply because I'm black makes you look utterly foolish. But I'm going to help you out and let you in on a secret that your school couldn't have taught you. Life Lesson #1: Never speak on something you know nothing about.
I'm happy to see black people (esp. males) receiving higher education, and better yet, in grad school! Wow! Hope to see more black people in college and in successful careers. Talk like an educated person; black slang sounds ugly! "gangster".... uhhh what? Don't you want to be a Pharmacist partially to take away from being a "gangster"? At least you don't curse :) You have a beautiful smile btw :D Best of luck to you!
@angelifyification thank you for the compliment :)..and no I'm not a gangster lol. I just have a southern accent and this video was more about being real and personable instead of super professional with my eye brow raised the whole time (if thats the educated demeanor you speak of) lol. Trust me, I know when to turn it on and off whenever needed. You should check out my video when I hosted on E! year..there was less accent for your pleasure ;)
I totally agree with you. Here at the universities in Canada its impossible to get in to any proffesional faculty so easily as in the states. By the way in the states the hight school curriculum is way easier then in Canada or any where else in the world, everything what we learn in first year in the states they learn the same material in the 2nd or in 3rd year.
@bomberfun1 You don't owe any explanations? You said the guy doesn't deserve to be there. Your evidence being: he's black. Explanations? You're damn right I want one. A damn good one. Matter of fact lets just cut it out - there is none. Your worldview is racist. Goodbye.
@bomberfun1 I should clarify by saying I'm half white, half black. Don't think for a moment you ca lecture me on discrimination or minority privilege. I can tell you firsthand that white privilege exists and minority preference is a load of shit. You've got a lot of learning to do. The first thing you can do is enroll in a sociology course. There is way too much to teach you, I don't even know where to begin. Your mind would be blown if you saw the reality.
@bomberfun1 I are probably a black dude either? Where did you learn English, because I don't want you prescribing me a damn thing. As a matter of fact I am black, but it is a bit easier having white family and connections. It makes a huge difference in what I have access to and knowledge about. Business knowledge, legal loopholes, scholarships, etc. White people know how to work the system better than anyone. Stop repeating that same old tired "reverse discrimination" bullshit.
@bomberfun1 How do you know what he knows and doesn't know? And as a matter of fact it is not "easy" to make it to college as a black man in this country. You've not lived one day as a black man in America, and you're never gonna convince anyone who HAS with your "logic". I still expect an answer to that question by the way.
@bomberfun1 *Georgia. And I just looked up Demographics for Tallahassee. I don't know where he's originally from but Tallahassee is 35% black. Just stop with the sideways talking. You're not helping anything but to make yourself look very racist, and it seems very blatant and intentional.
@bomberfun1 What's your GPA? This guys is 3.7 with 17 credits and he is involved in extra curriculars. For you to boil down his merits to being a minority shows you have no respect for hard work. The guy is in Tallahassee, just a few miles from Georgie. Black people are hardly even a minority there in terms of population. What you're saying sounds very racist. I do hope you know that.
I feel you, I'm currently a 5th year pharmacy student at Rutgers and I decided to be a Pharmacist my 12th grade year too. Doing track and pharmacy is demanding but putting the work in and getting through the days (and nights) has really taught me about perseverance :) good luck on your NAPLEX
Its funny that this guy is making a film in pharmacy. It seems like he likes film. What is funny also is that I like film a lot, and acting, and I might go into pharmacy
ay was gud george. imma jr in high school and planning to become a pharmacist. i started a bit weak in my 1st two yrs wit a gpa of 3.2. im workin hard to bring it up to 3.5 but im planning to go 2 vcu pharmacy. theyre ranked #21 so im just wonderin what gpa i should get to be accepted there?
@billyfabillyjolly im not exactly sure what the requirements are for vcu. you should probably check the schools website. keep up the awesome work bro!! as tony horton always says "just do your best, and forget the rest!!!"
I'm a incoming senior in high school & I plan on persuing a career in pharmacy. I'm a little afraid because I'm not very good in math or science. Do you think I should still persue my pharmacist degree or find something else to major in? Please answer! Thanks
@mingogirl2012 I graduated from university 2 months ago, after 5 yrs im 23 and a pharmacist now, i wasnt gd a math and i did not have a lot of science in high school but i just loved pharmacy; so i took my chance, i was motivated so i worked very hard and succeed every yr ! Trust me, studies aint about what you gd at while in high school, its abt hard work dedication and motivation for what u do! See urself becomin a pharmacist, and u will do everythn to become one, !! bless xx
@mingogirl2012 Hey!! well I think you can do anything you put your mind to. However, I will say that pharmacy consists of a lot of science and a small bit of math. The toughest part of pharmacy isn't understanding the material, it's managing the vast amount of material.
I agree with @TheLadylynn88. If you have the right balance of dedication and time management, you'll do fine.
Dang George that part when you said you wanted to be an Engineer at first was totally like me. I wanted to be a Computer Engineer until senior year because I thought math was always my favorite subject. I mean your in Pharmacy school now and doing well so this really inspires me to do the same. Going to be taking my first two Pre-Pharm years this fall and hopefully I'll get in Pharmacy School. Best of luck to yall man. And also do you have to dress nice (Casual) like that every day? P1-P4?
@tuan1is1azn Lol yea that engineering just wasn't for me. Im glad to hear that you're going to pursue a degree in pharmacy! Im sure you will do great!! And yes, our school requires that we dress professionally everyday. You get used to it lol.
I Love your video! Thank You! I'm a hopeful class 2015 for the pharmacy program (currently accepted for an interview). I have a question. If I'm accepted I wanted to work like 1-2 times a week. Do you think that it's manageable between school work or will it be too much to juggle?
@Xkandalosa89 i have classmates who work almost everyday and still manage..I think its definitely possible to have a part-time job and do exceptionally well. Its all about time management...now full time is another story lol. good luck on interviews!
