i don't find this offensive at all and i had a relative that suffered from dementia.

As I recall david and matt said in a interview they don't what to put limits on comedy, if they did it wouldn't be true comedy. they don't want to be restricted in the acts/sketches.

to clarfiy as well they are not making fun of vulnerable people, but more of the joke is aimed at people pretending that they are vulnerable. David and Matt are great comics i don't believe they would intentionally offend.

I think David Walliams and Matt Lucas are very clever and very funny, and I love many of their sketches. But it's just my personal opinion that they sometimes go beyond the limits of good taste, and I don't mean because of the subject matter in general. The definition of good taste is different for every individual, but it would be nice if we could respect it. Problem is, people who don't have 'good taste' probably don't have any respect for other people's opinions or feelings, either :-(

I agree with you on that point - I've often heard the phrase 'it's just a joke' in reply to my comments on YouTube - and not only with regard to comedy! Other favourites seem to be 'lighten up' and 'loosen up', which seem to mean 'forget all the values you ever learned and just accept any rubbish that is presented to you without questioning anything'.

it's all well and good mentioning people of today, but the system was hellish in the time period I mentioned, the victorian asylums, and far from funny, and light years away from the care we have today.
