  • @snowhawx31 that might work

  • How do I fix a cracked oil case

  • um... wht happens if the oil was leaking from the gratey bit beside the oil cap thing? :S cos thats wer ours is comming out of! u know... um the holey graty thingy ?

  • Greetings, Dony.. did read the parts manual, you sent me. Thank´s.

I will check my saw tomarrow and compare with the model manual received. Again in my case oil is leaking from the square metal "edge" right behind the clutch :-/ wish is only a seal or maybe a gasket... thanks. I´ll let you know how it went.

    Regards.

    Jay

  • well you know in sweden husqvarna is cheap shit... so funny with all americans thet think they are good

  • @Dregowz what is a good saw in Sweden then?

  • i have i big problem. when i removed the bar and chain the two bolds thaat the nuts come off of feel into the oil chamber how should i get them back in??? please answer back seems like u know ur shit!!!

  • @redfoxtrapper100 ouch! you can try to reach them from the oil tank and insert them back in. the other option it to take the saw apart

  • OH Dony:will now this saw will run great.and it sets there and Idles perfectly.then all of a sudden when I go to squeeze the throttle it lugs..I have adjusted those set screw every which way I can.and when I'm cutting with the saw to the side cut, it lugs.could that be do to the fuel filter.

  • @mogges1 could be the filter, may also need a new carb kit

  • @donyboy73 Dony I just rebuilt it, its a walbro.324.do you have any photos of the adjustment screw that are new.,I have pulled the H and L all the way out.but i do not know what they should look like in good condition

  • Comment removed

  • thats why the seal went . looks like the saw sits more then you use it lol

  • how would you repair a oil leak coming from small cracks

  • @fc2783 i would first sand it and clean it off real good the use JB WELD

  • @donyboy73 seems to be holding up ok with jb weld

  • @donyboy73 seems to be holding up with jb weld

  • Im testing mine right now overnight, what are other oil leak clauses??

  • @justin0957 oil line, crakcase gasket and or pump

  • Another great video, Donny.

On a related note, what kind of bar oil do you recommend for the new Husqvarna saws? The manual (for my 450) describes a vegetable oil base made by Husq'y, but they also say you need to remove it if the saw sits for long because that kind of oil tends to condense into a sticky paste that gums up the saw if you don't. My saw will likely be used once a month or so. Would a light sewing machine oil work as well?

  • @spelunkerd when it's a nice new saw like that I would use what they recommend

  • the oiler on my ryobi 40cc is not working, is there any external oilers that can be fitted.. any help would be most welcome

  • Excellent vid. Too easy.

  • if you want to speed up finding leaks use diesel, it wicks to cracks and holes and leaks super fast. and it cleans out the motor. to each there own

  • @satan31337 thanks for the tip

  • @donyboy73 Another way to remove a clutch and clutch drum off a saw is to use a 3/8 drive impact wrench. This gives the right torque and knocks the bolt loose without having to hold the piston with something. I found this to be a speedier way to do it in my shop. Just a tip Don. Keep up the good work my fellow OPE wrencher!

  • @Doye2287 thanks for the tip, i try and show in my vids how the novice can do it

  • nice

  • what brand of wrenches are the ones that you use

  • good video, rope trick protects the piston, good one,

  • can you do a cutting video with it

  • @Mrtocoolforyou12 yes i'll be posting a vid soon

  • i hate how sticky bar oil is so i run diesel oil in my stihl as bar oil not nearly as sticky

  • Wow that was a cheap easy fix I like the rope trick also. I will check my old 1960s homlite chainsaw and hope its a easy fix also

  • @ncrdisabled i just fixed an old homelite that was leaking and it was a small hose that connects to the pump

  • Its normal for some of the new Craftsman chainsaws to leak Bar & Chain oil. They use a lot of Bar & Chain oil too, so don't be fooled the lower price to purchase one, because you will spend more on Bar & Chain oil, than you would if you bought a more expensive saw. Some of the new Stihl chain saws have an adjustment screw underneath the saw that will let you adjust how much Bar & Chain oil the saw uses, which is a nice feature.

  • My 45cc sthil has the same oil-leaking problem! I'll check the o-ring...

  • @adrienj67 often with the stihl flip cap i just replace the whole cap

  • Dony-

Good Vid. I have never seen a clutch taken off before and the rope trick inside was neat. Assume it wasnt the o-ring and oil was visibly leakingon the clutch side, what would be your next step? Broken plastic reservoir from a fall maybee? Mis-threaded oil flow screw?
