This is really nothing new. the floral profession has LONG suffered from tyrannical restrictions.

In the turn of the 20th century documentary "Pygmalion" by George Bernard Shaw, the principle victim of oppression, Eliza Doolittle, wanted "to be a lady in a flower shop stead of sellin at the corner of Tottenham Court Road. But they wont take me less I can talk more genteel."

From proper language requirements to licensing, florists have had to face centuries of such oppressive regulation.
