I'd love to buy a Gibson one day. Most people who bash Gibson do so on the basis that they are mad they don't have the disposable income to buy one. I tried to negotiate a replacement with head of sales, I think it was, and they didnt even acknowledge my appeal my complaint or even my letters to them So I say get yourself a strat at least they look after their customers. I owned a 1957 Gibson J45 for 35 years, it was simply the best guitar ever made... and then it got stolen in a break in. My insurance replaced it with a brand new "Indian Rosewood" J45. It lasted one year, and the entire top lifted from the body of the guitar... When I sent it back, they lost it, and gave me cash for it. I went out and bought a Tak... It sounds better, plays better, and is glued better than the Gibson, and I have 2000.00 left over for strings :) JUNK Guitars, sad to say...

Someone I know told me that he knows a gentleman that worked for Gibson HAVE MILK USA as a luthier, and told him the quality of the instruments is not what it used to be and not made as well either! I had an Alex Lifeson ES-355 two years ago that was made in their (ahem) 'Custom Shop' in Memphis. Not impressed! (Of course it was a 'B' grade and cost me $1,200.00 less.)

I'd love to buy a Gibson one day. Most people who bash Gibson do so on the basis that they are mad they don't have the disposable income to buy one. If for your situation, you find better bang for you buck with other brands that's totally fine! I bought a gibson Les Paul 6years ago and the neck was twisted one of the pick ups was fucked and the handle came away from the case. I tried to negotiate a replacement with head of sales, I think it was, and they didnt even acknowledge my appeal my complaint or even my letters to them So I say get yourself a strat at least they look after their customers. Please, please dont have a Gibson shipped straight from the States you dont know what youre gonna get.

Epiphone guitars are made to exact Gibson specs offshore in Korea and/or China, they are made with inferior quality woods, generally have veneer tops, and usually have inferior electronics. Most Epiphone's are made with a multi-piece body instead of one solid piece, the end product might be similar but the construction methods are worlds apart. Its like comparing a Lexus (Gibson) to a Toyota (Epiphone) may look similar but one has more pedigree and performance.

Epiphone since 2008 has been makeing there own epiphone 57 classic and classic plus humbuckers and there own highend electronics. Epiphones tuners are Grover 14:1 or wilkinson deluxe 14:1 epiphone are the highest of professional quality.

I owned a 1957 Gibson J45 for 35 years, it was simply the best guitar ever made... and then it got stolen in a break in. My insurance replaced it with a brand new "Indian Rosewood" J45. It lasted one year, and the entire top lifted from the body of the guitar... When I sent it back, they lost it, and gave me cash for it. I went out and bought a Tak... It sounds better, plays better, and is glued better than the Gibson, and I have 2000.00 left over for strings :) JUNK Guitars, sad to say...

Someone I know told me that he knows a gentleman that worked for Gibson HAVE MILK USA as a luthier, and told him the quality of the instruments is not what it used to be and not made as well either! I had an Alex Lifeson ES-355 two years ago that was made in their (ahem) 'Custom Shop' in Memphis. Not impressed! (Of course it was a 'B' grade and cost me $1,200.00 less.)

Part -2 the Epiphone 2010 G400 standard 62 Sg and the 2011 Epiphone Limited Edition 50th Anniversary 1961 Sg Reissue are the very best and top Sg guitars out there today no doubt about it. Gibson for the most part hasnt made a better guitar in 4 year

What so many of you seem to be saying is that since you don't like Gibson guitars for whatever reason, they deserve to be raided by the Feds for no real reason? Man, that's just crazy. Aside from the fact that nobody made you buy a guitar you don't like. All you cats whining about how poorly your Gibson plays; did you not play the thing before you bought it? The thing about hand made instruments is that they are all different. Play the one you are buying before shelling out the $.
