  • The great thing about Lasko is that if you contact the company, they are helpful and you can replace anything on the unit. I lost a couple of the spring washers when I took mine apart for cleaning (I have it in the kitchen for exhaust and it gets grimy), they mailed them no charge. I burned out a motor, $22 and they didn't charge me shipping.

  • Looked at both videos normal and swap and you have the blade set on the swap that comes on new ones ($52 at Home Depot is cheapest but ship to you only, not in store) so anyone that has the newer unit with the slab type blades has what you have in this video. Note to anyone taking the nut off for the blade - it's left handed so it's opposite the normal righty-tighty rule you know. We have 2 now and ordering 2 more this summer. We never turn on AC anymore thanks to old school fans.

  • PS you suck getting that for a mere $12 (I mean that in jest by the way). These fans run anywhere from $52 to $90 retail plus shipping since no one seems to stock them in-store.

  • @rhblakeman i plan to order 2 fans install on one window. one for the exhaust and the other one intake. do u think that will work better? i also have portable A/C unit but i don't want to use it too much.

  • @kingphet123 We have two on the main floor, one on the west side and one on the east. Big 20" steel exhaust only on west side of second floor. 20" pulls heat out, the two Laskos pull air in or out. When sun is hot in the morning the east Lasko is exhaust, intake when it cools on that side after 1pm (12 noon actual sun time - thanks you SOBs for this stupid DST) and the west fan is intake most of the day except late afternoon then it exhausts. 96 degree humid day and it's very comfy in the house

  • @kingphet123 Our electric bill with central air is $90 more than running a ceiling fan in each room and 2 laskos and the big 20" exhaust, and no one is getting sick from the AC. Also no giant difference when you go outside so people aren't prone to staying inside all summer and when you do go out it's easy to adjust compared to coming from AC to the outside. I noticed in our neighborhood that more and more people have windows open and fans running while the AC unit sits idle.

  • Interesting that they came out with a better blade. I take it these have more pitch and are bi-directional.

  • Yep.

  • @MetalAnchor Look at the blade in his normal video and the blades have a swoop to the backside, more or less a one directional blade. The new ones are symetrical and slab shaped and they throw a lot of air. If you go to Lasko's site there is a number to order parts from them.
