"Eighty persons..have been indicted by the United States law enforcement officials over the N27 billion Halliburton bribery scandal. They include...former Nigerian Heads of State Ibrahim Babangida, Sani Abacha, Ernest Shonekan, and Abdulsalami Abubakar..." ------- Daily Independent Newspapers. Thursday April 15, 2010.
I want to understand the hate you have in. You think the creation of biafra will stop corruption and tribalism? i know that you might have a particular orientation but if you do pause and have a broad mind you will your error. I as a Nigerian know for a fact that we have failed. I dont blame our leaders I blame the followers and citizens.
@naijasoldieroflove I will ask you a simple question OUR FIRST LEADER DURING INDEPENCE WHAT DID THEY DO TO BE BLOWN TO PEACES BY OUR TAX PAYER MONEY? DID THE BRITISH SEND THE ARMY TO KILL THE PRIME MINISTER? WE HAVE BLOOD ON OUR HANDS ALL OF US. WE HAVE NIGERIAN BLOOD ON OUR HANDS WE KILLED OUR OWN LEADERS WE KILLED IGBO YORUBA AND HAUSA, NUPE EDO IJAW ETC PEOPLE WE ARE ALL GUILTY WE ALL NEED PARDON.
"A report that past Nigerian leaders stole more than $89.5 billion from the national purse over a period of 38 years, from 1970 through 2008 by Global Financial Integrity also stated that Nigeria lost more money through illegal financial outflows than any country in the world during the period." --- Daily Independent Newspapers. Wednesday April 14, 2010.
Self-deceivers. Is your patience running out against an invisible president or his undemocratic imposition on the presidency, or the elections and census rigged for 50 years by the Hausa-fulani hegemonists, or the corruption that has seen $500 bn of South-East and Mid-West region's wealth stolen, their communities destroyed and people killed, or the genocide against Biafrans which you all ignore deliberately. The deception and hatred continues. Division is the answer.
The thing that impressed me was the way the people were allowed to carry on with their peaceful protest. In any way you look at it, Kenya is a better country than Nigeria, but still this one instance of respect for the citzens' right to assembly, is something we should emulate. Also I loved it when the guy in the background said, "yeso!" lol
For one with all the resources Nigeria has, it's a shame that they have nothing to show for it. How many Kenyans do you know who are looking for better opportunities there? But come to Nairobi and the number of Nigerians there. From the banker to the credit card fraudster, they are all there.
My friend, your country is not close to Nigeria in anything so just hold your views to yourself. And your talk about Nigerians being credit card fraudsters in your country is sheer insult. Please refine your manners.
I have many Nigerian friends and none of them have anything good to say about their country. In the diaspora ask any Nigerian if they wanna go home and the answer is always the same; no! On the other hand ask a Kenya.
Nigeira may have many resources than Kenya ever will, but we are doing way better with the little we have and that my friend, is just a fact.
So it is no more a case of Nigerians doing credit card fraud in Nairobi but Nigerians that have nothing good to say about their country and won't go home ! Lets argue for arguing sake.....Tell me 6 keys areas your country is doing better than Nigeria? Is it in education, agriculture, culture, commerce and economy, infrastructure development, free press or what? I will be waiting. I personally am sick of this Nigeria bashing by all and sundry some of whose nations ain't better in anyway.
@mfenaadisukibaba You may get sick, but it will not change facts. Kenya has a first indicator is economy. We have a stronger currency than your Naira. We have fibreoptic infrastructure; we have a billion dollar tourist industry; crime is waaaaay lower than Nigeria's; Religious tolerance; lower on the corruption list at least than you are; our country isn't run by the military; and generally, to make it short, we just have a better reputation worldwide, not to mention OBAMA!!
What is there in Kenya beyond Nairobi? Infrastructure in Kenya is poor. There is corruption in Kenya. Elections are stolen in Kenya. The biggest slum in Africa is in ur country. The issue is this- you can pretend all is well with your country but as Nigerians we will shout to high heavens till we stamp out poverty amd corruption from Nigeria. While we are at it, my kenyan friend, hold your peace because your country is not better than todays' Nigeria with all its issues.
@mfenaadisukibaba Please brother what slytheron wrote is right fraudulence is true 419, they even ate by money and it will not stop. If they don't stop selling money on the road and where do they get the money from? From banks and the money changed where does it go? To a private pocket. Is it so in the western world? Have we electricitis? Are our police, police or theives. Go to other countries and see not to mention the factories they call churches, in pregnanting small girls. Nigeria.
@mfenaadisukibaba wow, chill buddy, you know nothing about my country. My country is eons ahead of Nigeria. The thing about being fraudsters is true, not just in Kenya but around the world. Even Nigerians are tired of it and are always complaining what is wrong with their brethren. Secondly, there's very good infrastructure around Kenya, not just Nairobi. At least we have some fairly dependable electricity for one, when was the last time you switched on a light in Nigeria? Dont get me started o.
Funny thing is, someone was on here complaining about the fact tha Raila was tembeaing all over the place. But that's what a national leader is supposed to do! The person who should be doing the tembeaing is sleeping in Lucy's lap at state house. What a shame!
this statement is a betrayal by obj bcos yaradua pulled down some of the beloved policies obasonjo implemented. An attempt to wash himself clean. Pls do not trust this man called obasonjo. He is only trying to play innocence!
