  • I'll have to try putting this on my Acer Aspire One netbook.

  • that works pretty good. a friend of mine and me have installed it on a netbook in shopping-centre in a T-Mobile store and played it after (!) school ;D its quite nice, but you need a mouse o.O with the touchpad you can let your cat play

  • lame, intel integrated graphics suck. That's a quake 3 based game. I want a netbook, but my laptop with a crappy x1200 can play quake 3 games fine. Is there any netbook makers that don't use the intel graphics?

  • ok is this vid to show that u dont need a good comp to play this game or is there a software to make it run better??

  • softare to make games run better? you mean tweaks right?

this video is meant to show that you can play this game in a eee, which means if you have mobile internet, you can play it "everywhere" (must have good connection and good ammount of juice in the battery eheh)

  • WOW please help i have a eeepc and i want to play this game. I have downloaded it and i don't know how to install it in xandros, any suggestions?

  • use this software called "wine". It allows windows games to be run on linux. I'm not totally sure about how it works cuase i installed XP on it. My advice is just to install xp.

  • Why would you run the Windows version under Wine when there are pre-compiled Linux binaries available?

Download the zip from the website, extract it to whatever directory you want (/usr/local/share/urbanterror is a nice place). To run the game all you need to do is execute the ioUrbanTerror.i386 file that's included in the zip. It's compiled for 32-bit Linux systems, and should work just fine out-of-the-box on the EeePC.

  • ve4cib-yeah i tried that but when i tried to extract those files to the 'usr/local/share/urbanterror' directory it would not let me? Any ideas? plus i think i should install xp instead!

  • For security reasons typically a user can only write to their /home/username directory; anything in there you can read/write to with no problems. Anything else requires special privileges (i.e. root access). The easiest way to do this is open up a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and type:

    sudo mkdir /usr/local/share/urbanterror

    sudo unzip UrbanTerror_41_FULL.zip -d /usr/local/share/urbanterror

'sudo' will give you root access. The first cmd makes the dir, the second will unzip the file to that dir.

  • hi thanks for the info but i am a noob when it comes to computers and i don't know how to install XP, little help?

  • I run this game on my Eee with XP and I get mid 20's to 30's for fps.

  • Sames! I run it on linux though and i get 30 - 40 when i have overclocked my processor to 900MHz instead of the stock 630MHz. I only have 512mb RAM though but i am ordering a 2GB stick which should speed it up a little bit right? i know the GPU is not brill but it should add some performance!

  • You didn't install ubuntu on it, did you?

  • yep, ubuntu was there, now its xandros and i'm thinking of going back (if i would have time to install it again)

  • Just a suggestion, but maybe you should try archlinux. It is what I am using on my EeePC and desktop. Just follow the guides on the arch wiki (install from usb; EeePC install; beginner install). Arch doesn't come with a desktop environment by default, but installing packages is rather easy. To install gnome you would do, pacman -S gnome gnome-extra.

  • how much is the RAM?

  • 20$ ? :D

  • lool so small pc with urt xD

  • just tried this on on 2g eee averaged 15fps with stock clockspeed

  • Is This Stock

  • Not yet, i'm satisfied with the performance as it is, but i will try it in the future

  • Do you have your eee pc overclocked to 900mhz?

  • thats wot i was gonna ask.wonder how it would play when overclockt.
