I have the best dental insurance that my job offers so theres really nothing I can do about the fact that they only pay 80% towards my services. Im not going to go to an outside source for insurance.I also need braces which is another 5,000+ so yea......I gotta think wisely here. "Studies" always show that something is wrong with something it will never be safe to do any thing really when u think about it..

thank u , i am making the appointment today...however i do know that once you get them removed there is still mercury in your system...this is removed with a heavy metal detox for the colon, liver, kidney, well basically you need to detox your whole body. opc 3 has helped me before, it even removes chlorine from water.

Composite material is also believed to be toxic and causing cancer. I once had a composite filling, it cracked and fell out after 2 days. Anyone telling me about mercury I can only reply: So what? It stays in, that's important and I don't have any problems with it. It's also a lot of panic, nothing more!
I fully diagree with this newscast. Being a dentist myself I would say that amalgam (silver fillings with mercury) are the best long term solution for dental restorations. White fillings (composites) are more prone to microleakage and recurrent decay. The reporter has no clue about it. With white fillings you are more more to getting recurrent decay, cold sensitivity and future root canals. I would want silver amalgam in my mouth except for my front teeth (obviously for aesthetics)

I have several dentists friends and patients who became mercury toxic and got it reversed by safely removing these old fillings. The amalgams contribute to 66% of the body burden of mercury and fish only 12-14% in folks who eat it regularly. Hard science is always better than your personal feelings.
It's funny that in a supposedly advanced country like US people still get amalgam filings. In Bulgaria we haven't used amalgams for over 20 years. In most of Europe they are banned...

Composites by far get more recurrent decay and get decay to the point where it leads to a root canals way faster than amalgam or gold.
