Watch 2.0 with the commentary Tiffany is very funny and does it mostly in Auska's voice,and at times Auska her self.Very cool!

@hitsusatsu11 Uh, you do know that Funi tried to get as many of the original actors back for the series as possible, right? If they could have gotten Amanda I'm sure they would have, but there were probably a few problems.

Also, dude - it's REI. It sounds about the same no matter who's playing her. Not much you can do with Rei.

@einootspork The hell they did! Amanda was the first VA they dumped...of course, I would have fired her too, but still...There are two of the original US VAs left on 1.0 and 2.22.

@hitsusatsu11 In my opinion, the Funi dub is far, far, far superior to the ADV dub. I personally really dislike the ADV dub, with the exception of Allison Keith and Sue Ulu. And Brina Palencia is a far better Rei IMO, she speaks with a more natural timbre unlike Lee's unrealistic monotone, and she includes more subtle hints of emotion in certain scenes, something Lee also didn't do, but should have.

But that's just my opinion.

@TheUnbreakableOtaku I find all Brina Palencia's roles somewhat lacking. I for one couldn't stand her in Claymore. As far as her Rei, its not terrible (because lets face it most poor English VA performance's come from over acting, and that would be next to impossible with Rei) but it certainly is no Amanda Winn Lee. I always felt the voices of Lee, Grant and Spencer rivaled the voices of the two Megumi's and Yuko. I also found Keith did a good job in filling the (big) shoes of Kotono.

@TheUnbreakableOtaku ADV (and then Manga Entertainment) made some big mistakes later on in the director's cut and EoE, the different Gendo and "black" Hyuga being prime examples of this. But overall I find the ADV dub of NGE to be far superior to anything Funi has ever produced.

The only piece of Ms. Grant's work that I'm familiar with is her part of Suzume in Cyberteam in Akihabara. She really brought that character to life!

I still don't....feel comfortable with her voicing Asuka again. I kind of feel like she basically took Asuka and put all copyrights on her....I mean, it's like she owns her now. She even has pictures from years ago of her going to conventions dressed like Asuka.

Yes, it's true. On December 14th, Mermaid Melody the anime will be released in English, in U.S. This old lady is going to voice Hippo. My dreams have been crushed.

This "Old Lady" is very talented and to be fair, you kinda putting her down to soon(No offend but you are being harsh for someone who's going play a penguin magical girl sidekick). I'm looking forward for her role as Hippo but I'm not really a Mermaid Melody fan. I only care about the twins in that show. Anyway...thanks for putting this up. Tiffany Grant is awesome.

She will. She works for FUNIMation now. Which is the company dubbing Rebuild.

For the record, she works for neither company. She is only employed by FUNimation until her work for them is done, and then she's unemployed until she gets hired or some one else. So, yes, she does work for FUNimation, but she's not a full time employee, nor is any other actor hired by FUNi or ADV, or any other company for that matter.

But hear Johnny Yong Bosch english dub in Bleach, listen to Ichigo, Hollow Ichigo and Hollowfied Mask Ichigo's voice. They did an EXCELLECT job dubbing those, one of the best I've ever heard.

depends on the show.

Black lagoon, for example is better in english than jap, as it is based on hollywood action films, their characters and associated stereotypes.

Other stuff like samuri shows just don't sound "right" in english.

Some japanese dubbing of english shows is pretty bad too (transformers: beastwars in jap is utter shit)
