@techanstuff A translation patch downloaded off the internet and applied to a game ROM, most likely. That's how I played it in English. Unfortunately the patch is a bit dodgy so some of the things demons say won't make perfect sense.

Iblis or Lucifer is the fallen angel. Satan on the other hand is "God's prosecutor", much like in a court of law. He works for god.

Why he looks like a frigging huge ugly demonic monster in SMT2, completely unlike the angels... is beyond me on the other hand.

@thejosecuellar Well, yeah, but when Satan from the Bible reveals himself, he says: "I am Legion, for we are many." I take that to mean that he is the demon Legion. But, then again, he has many names. Satan, Lucifer, King Abbadon (I probably misspelled that), The Great Deciever, The Enemy, etc. I call him King Abbadon, since it sound much more sinister. It's pretty much hinted in the bible that he has no real name to speak of.

Satan and Lucifer hate each other. Satan is Lawful Evil, being the necessary source of evil as created by God. Lucifer, on the other hand, rebelled against God and represents Chaos and freedom, desiring to break away from God's rule.

You mean just for the game, right, cuz in real life they are the exact same person, And satan was not created by god, but became satan by himself by rebelling against god, losing his holiness and becoming a demon, though it is also good to know that the bible states that Fallen angels ( DEMONS) do not look like horrible ugly terrifying monsters, but look like the angels they used to be ( minus the holiness).

Are you citing bible and religion? As a matter of fact, the Bible never did say Satan and Lucifer is the same being; it's just how many interpreted it eventually. Satan was shown as a dragon, ect, whereas Lucifer was described as a being so beautiful he was loved by all, even God, up to the moment he fell.

It never explicitly stated that they are necessarily the same beings, so it's possible to have an alternate interpretations of the events that occurred.

@entertainmentsteve Satan is a title rather than a name. Lucifer is just commonly called Satan because he became 'the enemy.' Lucifer lost his right to be called by his former name, and now is just called by Satan. There are greater and lesser Satans, Lucifer just being the supreme Satan - The term Satan can be any supremely powerful enemy that opposes God, such as how the Muslims call certain enemies 'greater satans' and 'lesser satans.' In the Muslim account, Lucifer is instead called Iblis.

@entertainmentsteve In many ancient texts Satan is "the adversary", a being that exists to oppose being all things need opposition to grow strong. So not evil, but certainly negative depending on your viewpoint. Lucifer is an angel who tests human faith, who was sort of combined with Satan over the years. The concept of "The Devil" as we know it from today's churches only came about in the middle ages. SMT takes inspiration from many ancient stores though.

Persona 1 and 2's stories were definitely a lot more mature and cohesive, especially compared to Persona 3's story (a teenage robot girl with amnesia who was made to fight shadows? Seriously?), but at least Persona 4's story was a lot more believable, and it had a good number of memorable moments like Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment did.

I believe that as long as you have one human character, you are fine and good to go.

At least one who can revive you with Kintan, Soul Incense or Recarm. Even if you have a human who doesn't have one of the skills or one of the items, you're as good as dead. One time, I faced Take-Minakata in SMT 1 and by one mishap I got killed, even when I had Yuji and Takeshi. This is the proof you need.

In the first SMT games, it was pretty much a basic turn based system, with the addition of demo nconversation paths.

Later entries have more involved systems where you have to abuse the enemies' elemental weakness to survive.

Buffing and debuffing is actually not optional in te Megaten games.
