  • your guitar looks like van halen's guitar...

  • yo privetricker, i think you might be able to answer this question. i wanna know what was the precise cause why Robert Plant lost his voice, because in the begginning he sounded awesome (even live) and around 1974-75 he lost it all. you think it was his accident?

  • @chillraph That's called "getting older."

  • @privettricker oh come on, you can go deeper than that. Some singers keep their voice until their 60s. I read once that it was because he tried too hard singing Over the hills and far away during the 75 tour and ruined his voice forever after.

  • @chillraph I don't know where you might have read that, but he only tried to sing Over the Hills like the album version on some of the 72 tour dates. By the time 75 came around, he'd been singing it without the high parts for several years. The combination of relentless touring during Zeppelin's early years and Plant getting older are very likely the primary reasons for his vocal problems starting around 73. I'm 43 and there's no way I could sing like I did 20 years ago.

  • @privettricker thanks alot, i might be watching my voice more!

  • I can feel a lot of Zep vibe about Plant's voice here. And the answer lies in...the fact that John Bonham, never played Rock and Roll as good as the performance on the Song Remains the Same. Plants voice also would never be as good as those years. Rock and Roll and Plants voice sort of hit their peak, and well, that's that.

  • @chillraph What do you mean by lost his voice? I don't think he lost his voice at all. He won 5 grammies for Raising Sand just a few years ago. He sounded great next to Allison Krauss. He sounds great in his most recent ensemble - Band of Joy and he has won numerous music awards in the UK. He has been staking up awards for the few years.

  • That sweater is pure swag. along with the guitar and music it'self

  • fruity guitar and gey sweater.... You know what that means....

  • @BehindTheWallOfDoom Yeah, I know what it means. It means you're a piece of s*** who hates gay people. And since I won't abide anyone who hates gay people, you're banned from making comments on any of my videos. I just love how you posted a video on your channel that tells people not to be trolls -- as if you're not a f***ing troll yourself!

  • @privettricker fuck that guy that guitar looks amazing :p

  • @privettricker Ya F*** that guy that guitar kicks A** and your videos kick as well.

  • Top job bro.

  • Sharp looking Tele. That one of the James Burton ones?

  • Comment removed

  • Privet just delete the nut balls. You are a godsend to my resurgent guitar playing mojo! I was a rocker way back when, now with the kids growning up and with my need to reestablish this site and your excellent work is really appreciated. Oh, this may be one of the very few songs I may know better than you - I think you're missing a note. But in any case you totally rule my friend - Let's start a band ;-)

  • You are one of the best on Youtube by far. Fuck these haters and keep doing your thing!

  • pink bandana finish, COOL BEANS!

  • @nappypant Poopypant -- What the hell are you talking about? I looked through all the comments on this video and I haven't responded to you at all. In fact, I can't even find any other comments from you. Having said all that, you are an annoying prick. Get well soon.

  • @privettricker I'd rather hear a genuine attempt than someone who thinks that a greater ability and repertoire equals respect.and superiority. Any player who mocks another player in order to feel good about himself only plays the guitar to give his ego a blow job because no one else will. Excellent effort with that solo

  • @nappypant YOUR CRAZY. DOODOOPANTS, this was amazing! bravo! and the solo was spot on! and a beautiful tele also! keeps jammin my man!

  • @nappypant Still waiting for you to post your version you candy ass little fuck.

  • is that a custom finish on that tele?

  • is your shirt made from a comforter blanket?

  • @blackbeltkarate Ask your mom. She gave it to me after I banged her.

  • @privettricker instareply

  • @privettricker ANSWER WIN :D anyway what guitars is yours? :) is it a Fender Tele? :)

  • sick floral pattern

  • the main riff sounds a bit off?? not sure

  • @jaqua524 i agree actually, otherwise great though. I have a cover of this on my channel.. learnt it by ear but think i nailed the main riff.. check it out :)

  • @06mgibson yeah, not a very difficult riff to learn though, its just picking an A power chord lol

  • @jaqua524 hmm took me a while tbh, i couldnt work out the climb after the power chord which is what is wrong with this guys version

  • @06mgibson yeah definitally...getting the tone right actually also helped me a bit haha

  • @jaqua524 yea man same :)

  • Hey man, what kind of strings are you using? Thanks

  • Kudos. Damn good job of it! Keep it up; don't stop. It does have it's own rewards, as you know. Thanx/

  • Excellent, thank you

  • Damn!, it's so fucking good!

  • Is this a solid state amp? O_o

  • noticing discussion on that riff, here's what i've made it out to be: after the arpeggiated D chord, i play D string open, D string 4th fret then 7th fret, then A string 4th fret and walk up to the E power chord.

hope i'm giving something back that's actually useful.

  • Damn good solo mate!

  • I LOVED YOUR GUITAR! ITS A FENDER?

  • crazy good tone.

  • Are you doing the "walk up" after the arpeggiated D power chord starting on the 5th string going D-Eb and then to the A on the 4th string and back down to the 5th string for the final Db-D-Eb walk up to the E power chord?

  • @garbeaj I do A string on 6th/7th, then D string to 7th then A string 4/5/6 and then that E chord again.

  • @privettricker I think the lick may actually start on the D note (5th fret of the 5th string) then to the E (7th fret-5th string) and the rest of it is as you have it. At least that's how I hear it. I could be wrong:) Great tone by the way! What amp are you using and where id the reverb coming from. You have the reverb dead-on with the record! Very nice!

  • @garbeaj I think this is it, actually.

  • @privettricker You may be right...I've tried it your way and my way and compared it to the record, but I'm still not sure. I've been playing this riff for 25 years and I may still learn that I've been doing it wrong all this time:)

  • @privettricker SO what amp and where is the reverb coming from?

  • @garbeaj Marshall AVT 50H, just using the reverb on the amp. No effects.

  • @privettricker I have a small master volume Marshall JCM 800 combo which has no reverb...I have reverb on my Fender Super reverb, but I don't have any seperate reverb effects. You have dialed in the reverb perfectly on your AVT 50H!

  • @garbeaj I believe your right. I just listned/played along with the intro like 10 times to make myself believe. I think what is goin on is JP is going to D n playin the 1-3-5-7 notes in the scale, then the walk up to E, at least that is how it sounds to me in the song anyway (2 cents).

  • u got the chords rong in the first chorus its G to A not A to D

  • yea it is it sounds really rong i got the chords off my teacher and they sound perfect urs sounds off

  • Is the teacher's name Esteban, by any chance?

  • who the fuck is esteban

  • You totally nailed Page's tone!

    a great Zepp feel

    What amp/distortion do you use?

  • Hey, thanks for the kind words. I'm just going straight through a Marshall 50-watt half-stack, no effects.

I occasionally use a Small Stone phase shifter, but mostly it's just the tone of the guitars doing the work!

  • @privettricker Totally amazing!

no matter what cover you decide to do

you just really sound like it .

  • Oh, I wish that were true.

  • What a riff! Where'd you get the Paisley tele?I want one!!!!!!!!

  • I'm lucky -- got one of the Japanese reissues a few years ago before they became popular again.

  • where did you learn this song?

  • From listening to the album. So you might say Jimmy taught me!

  • Nice guitar and skills, man.
