  • yes even I fell for the rumor that this was done to perfection, and how could those ball bearings not fall off the grid so to say

  • fake

  • i just stumbled onto a real life version of this lol...

  • Need help: who can tell me the name of the rendering-program whith which this was made? Thanks in advance

  • I remember my music teacher showing me this in 5th grade and i was like HOLY SHIT is this computer animated or not? Now im like... that looks horrible... Also reminds me of Donkey Kong country music :P

  • If this was real i would buy it. Thumbs up if you agree

  • This was by far the coolest animusic episode I have seen.!

  • the precision! I want to make one :)

  • 14 people don't understand this thing is crazy and insane, but also revolutionary, and it's just plain wicked.

  • GOTTA HAVE MORE COWBELL!!!!!!!!!!

  • no one could ever make this 4 real. Even partly! The steel balls would differ in density a little causing then to bounce differently.

But even as a computer animation is amazing and sure took a lot of work!

  • omg, this is awesome

  • fuk i smoked so much pot to this one

  • @danksmokaz

Me too, bro, me too. I'm smokin' a bowl right now

  • Wow, who ever thought of that in the first place must have been a genius, especially designing it on a computer from scratch

  • i think this was released with the ATI Radeon 9700 video card as a demo video

  • Too bad that it is animated :P

  • How does that even LOOK real to you people?!

  • Rhube Goldberg :)

  • haha i got the Chain letter that contained this amazing machine that some college students in Ohio made it.

I could only think "damn that must have been a buttload of calculations and amazing mechanics." After I spent some time googling it, I found out about AniMusic and my heart was broken a bit. Yet this in no way took away from the awe i had for this video!

  • they won't run out of balls ^^ cuz they'll return in those holes next to the little drums

  • you think they would run out of balls eventually

  • I like animusic

  • @redrum671 it's no just you!!!! when i first heard it i though it was Mutazo Muzika or sth!! (crash bandicoot music composer)

nice that some1 got the same oppinion with me =D

  • WE NEED MORE COWBELL!

  • @TrekkGT Extremely funny qoute!

  • OMG! YES me too.

i thought i was the only one

  • if someone took the time this is very much possible

  • @LUCKIEI I dont think so. The ball must be launched exactly on string, then on another string and after that on drum and at last to pipe. This is not possible i think, because this have to happen all the time without one mistake:)

  • @SterakdaryCZ Come on! have some imagination!

  • me too

  • MOAH COWBELL!

  • ATI Radeon????

  • awesome animation work

  • animation IS AWESOME

  • Who else remembers the rumour that this was a real machine that college students built and filmed?

  • I do!

  • @JizzleMaFizzle

looks like bullshi not rumour :) that would be impossible

  • @JizzleMaFizzle How could anyone think this is real? I mean, it's pretty cool, but it even looks fake.

  • @19shea85 It's animated.

  • @JizzleMaFizzle

hey this might be late but go to this link and I think this is what you should be talking about... It might be long but its worth the time to watch!

  • @JizzleMaFizzle

It won't let me give you the adress to the website so search:

    Amazingly Talented PVC Pipe Player

  • @JizzleMaFizzle My dad just sent me an e-mail with that hoax. I was pretty sure it was an Animusic video so I Youtubed it and here I am. XD

  • this is freaking amazing

  • Sweet.

  • damn, it took a lot of programming to create something like this

  • I remember watching this in 6th grade... Wow, memories...

  • someone try to make this!!!!

  • Molto difficile

    very hard!!!

  • If someone could actually make that, that would be awesome!

  • haha.. nice work from the animator!

  • this is anamation

  • AMAZING

  • it needs more cowbell

  • that was cool

  • i got a FEAVER, and thats the only perscription! lol

  • ha someone got it thats right if bruce dickenson wants more cowbell we should probably give him more cowbell

  • I've always wanted some Billionare to actually try and make this... I would pay money so see it.... I would be stoked!

  • cker strak

  • wow that is awsome

  • Woooo! What if that were real?

  • great video

    subscribe to me

  • This is so sweet, I love animusic.

This is probably my favorite one I've seen.

  • awesome

  • i have this dvd!! its awesome

  • even tho its animated the music still had to be created. its cool.

  • nice, i bet this could be created

  • que es esa putes!!! que se coja su jefa

  • NEET!

  • this is sweet!!! GREAT JOB!!

  • This reminds me of a musician named Kristian Schulze. I got an album from him in the late 80s called "Metronomics." I think it was when samplers and sequencers were first hitting the market. I bought an Ensoniq EPS around that time - read the manual cover to cover and had a blast with it!

  • they should ban instruments like this, I mean what is a child walked in front of it and got hit by one of the ball bearings or something?

  • its not a real instrument

  • ur dumb......its animation dude

  • yes yes I know, it was a joke.

Check out the other instruments he created (search for them, can't remember where they are), although the balls one is the best one. There's also a docu. about how he created it, getting the computer-generated notes to trigger the animation frames (not the other was round). Clever stuff.

  • If you play this contraption for about 2 hours, eventually it gets covered with balls and it no longer works. A bad design.

  • nah cuz all the balls bounce back into another pipe

  • one word......animation

  • so what its still cool not everything has to be real...

  • Damn that was pretty cool!

  • Wow you need alot of BALLS to do that ;)

  • dude, its animated

  • It sure is. I'm not that dumb xD

  • Oh my god, my band teacher showed this whole movie to my class last year!

  • I must build that....

  • i don't think its possible this is clearly animated

  • No shit. But props for the first person that makes it possible to do this.

  • wow

  • Awesome. Thanks for the post!

  • thats from ani music i luv that one

  • ça défonce!

    Respect!

  • La vogliooooooooo

  • i love the fast one the one with 4 strings

  • awsome to the core.

  • my god.

  • i would pay any amount of money to have this machine

  • very cool

  • im a drummer and that was awesome

  • thts rly gd, but it can all be done except for the bit with the circular piano cuz 1 tube staying still wudnt be able to do tht but if it was multiple tubes then it cld but itd be kl to watch in real likfe if sum1 did it lol :P

  • Awesome, too bad its animated :(

  • wooow O.O

    coool xD

  • That was really good

  • Wow.

  • i have this movie 1 and 2

  • wowsers that must have been really hard

  • It's going to be the best show in the world ,

    if it's real.

  • that is amazing!!!!!!

  • I just wanted to know who do you think has the better graphics?

  • This video is very old bro...nothing short of about 10 years. I remember seeing this on ZDTV (the old TechTV that merged with G4TV)

  • umm..

    1. this is really old?

    2. regardless of reality, all graphics look like crap on YT.

    3. its still very complex and creative, i doubt the people at Xbox and Sony could make something this creative and meticulous.

    4. graphics dont mean crap. all the old SNES games and Genesis games are still hella fun, and all the old animated movies are still awesome. just because it has bad graphics doesnt mean a thing if it has quality otherwise!

  • Dude nice graphic and song at the same time and designer good job if was u who made it..

  • AHH thats so cool! XD

  • Bravo!

  • no es un juego BUT ITS AWESOME!

  • increible es un juego ?

    rarisimo pero exelente

  • why is this amuzing...

  • Because it's a cool way of animating

  • I had fun watching and listening to this. Loved it !!!!!

  • Ups very good!

  • This remindes me of the crash bandicoot game that i used to play a long time ago.

  • yeah sort of....crash bandicoot!!

  • Yeah !

Like in Crash Bandicoot 2 , in sewer ... That music is nearly the same ...

  • CRASH WAS THE MAAAAAAN!...or...thinnnnnng....bandicoooooot? LOL

  • i imagine it took alot of math to make this vid

  • very cool video, creative as hell! i would pay lots of money 2 buy the program 2 create music that way. nice

  • i wanna see that in real life!!!!

  • KOOL

  • that was quite cool

  • it would be cool if they made a real one

  • My balls can make music like that too.

  • ha ha ha!!!!

  • This is an ATI Graphics Demo. It's free on ATI's website. It's made for testing video card graphics and physics.

  • It was also one of many pieces of animation put to music on a DVD called Animusic 2

  • I take that back... this is a much grainier version than the original...

  • Sweeet!

  • SUPER!!!!!!

  • this is an animation but its cool

  • tight

  • amazing!so cool!

  • i've seen this exact thing just with a different song

    where'd you find this?

send me a message if you can help me find this please

  • my music teacher bought that video at amazon. idk if u can still buy it there or not

  • It was probably pipe dream 2

    just search for it.

  • SUPERB!!

  • I could build one of those. It wouldn't sound anything remotely like it, but i could build it.

  • the difficult part of this construction would be the right synchronization, so the ball would get in that hole, that brings the ball back.. :)

  • And getting balls to properly bounce off of the strings

  • that was amazing!

  • reminds me of crash bandicoot

  • or spyro th dragon

  • This was on a show called Eye Drops on Tech TV. I am pretty sure they have a DVD, so if you are interested in this type of animation, you should check out the DVD.

  • it would be cooler if it was real

  • wow! like....

    just... WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • AMAZING i love this video the coolest on youtube. fo sho

  • Whoah....The end really DOES sound like crash bandicoot

  • awsome

  • wow lol kool

  • Omg lol I was just thinking before I read the comments, "omg that sounds like crash bandicoot!"

  • Too bad it isn't real.

  • kinda reminds me of crash bandicoot for some strange reason

  • hahaha yeah me tooo

  • ths is way kool

  • Genius.

  • Far from Genius But kool

  • all right so im not the only one when it reminds me of crash bandicoot at the end

  • y wont my instruments do that?

  • y wont my balls do that?

  • every ball has a hole.

  • Very nice!!

  • Towards the end it reminded me of Crash Bandicoot - Just imagine going through a level with that..

  • ......WOW!.......

  • very very cool

  • Amazing =D

  • Okay, now that was awesome. But it was CGI, right?

  • of cource it is

  • Yes, I know. I believe that is the dumbest thing I have ever written on youtube. In my defense, I wrote that after only watching the first few seconds of the clip. That part _could_ have been real. :)

  • yea pretty cool

  • What a cool concept.. .awesome.

  • That is rather cool to say the least, lol.

Tbh i think it sounds alot like something from Age of Empires II :P.

  • a trillion pounds to the person who can make me one of those !! lol

    fucking awesome !

  • Wow. That was truly amazing. Make more :D

  • It's ATi the graphics card company now part of AMD who made this.

  • Last!
