Martin Fitzmaurice's comment about how darts players want to win trophies just sums up how behind the times the BDO really are. I don't know about you, but if I'm a pretty good darts player, I want to win some money. Of course, it wouldn't be in the BDO.

How can Martin Adams with a straight face say that he is on the same titles list as John Lowe and now is vying for Eric Bristows 3 titles in a row? Its one thing to win the BDO title in the early 2000s when the BDO was still pretty strong, its a totally different thing to win them in the latter part of the 2000s and claim some sort of Legend with it. Sorry to break up the Martin, but the BDO is vastly inferior to the BDO of the 70's and 80's and of course the proper World Championship The PDC.

@5eurocups2005 Yes your right. How can he say he has equalled John lowe, and wanted to equal bristow. The BDO was far more competitive when them players played! The BDO is full of ppl that are just a county thrower and have qualified for the BDO championships.

To put your name on the list with likes of bristow, lowe you must do something pretty special to have the privelige and that doesn't mean beating the likes of nixon, chisnall and winstanley in the finals. Adams face his only seeded in the final this year and both chisnall and nixon were unknowns. Back in the days of bristow you had to defeat top players to get to the latter stages of the big tornaments. Martin Adams has simply waited for the Barnevelds to move to the PDC
