  • "I don't trust things that are grounded in science or things that I don't understand." -- So, he doesn't trust the bible either? Because no one can understand that shit. And he doesn't trust gravity because he doesn't trust science? WTF?

  • Why do Latinos always whip out the "Hispanic" card to make his argument? Discrimination against minorities is always wrong. How can a member of one minority belittle the struggle and the pains of another?

Equality leaves no room for tolerance, because in a society where all citizens share the same rights, there are no tolerators nor are there people to be tolerated. To "tolerate" gays means to put up with them. Equality superceeds such second class citizenship for gays. Equality wins!

  • BEING A VEGAN IS NOT A CHOISE!!!!!! I WAS BORN THAT WAY.

  • @lavaxtris1 lol love the sarcasm....

  • Well if homosexuality is a choice, then Everyone one the Planet is in reality a BISEXUAL! because if people choose to be homo and some people choose to be hetero, then we must all be Bisexual, who choose who we want to be with. In which case, were all the same and it shouldn't matter who we want to be.

  • @ashunga543

that is one of the most retarded statements ive ever heard in my life

  • @letmytechspit

lol explain why so. I don't believe it is a choice at all. However explain where the logic fails if sexual orientation is a choice.

  • @ashunga543 Well said. O:

  • Some gay people have visible physical characteristics of the other gender. ie lesbians w/ deep voices, stocky builds, no hips, masculine facial structures, or gay guys with girly voices, slim builds, or a feminine posture. How do all you choice people explain that? How about all the bitchy, gossiping gay guys, and the laid back, sports-loving lesbians? Are all these physical characteristics/ personality traits faked somehow?

  • I wish ever guy was gay. More women for me.

  • Richardson is a clown and I'm a strait male.

These non-scientific anti-gay views are retarded.

  • i use to wish i was strait, and i tried hard.

but i realised it is not a bad thing, and my friends where really great bout it when i told them. love is love. and if u hate love, god help u m8

  • that fat man is out of date! im gay im here get over it he needs to get a life!

  • The "born that way" theory is flawed.Look at Ann Heche. She was in a lesbian relationship with Ellen because she chose to do so. Why do I say she chose it? Because Ann has left Ellen, gotten married, and is now heterosexual. And how do you explain identical twins where one is straight and one gay? Same genetics. The theory is flawed.

  • just because there is some choice involved for some people doesnt mean that it is choice in general.

besides there are other things than genetics in humans life that are not choice. like hormon or other environmental exposure. and genetics dont carry human caracteristics - how a human devolps depends on the interaction between genes, the individual in his physiological and psychological aspects and the environment.

  • @NYCman530 It's called bisexuality, and it's WAY more prevalent than a lot of people realize. While I do believe most people on this earth prefer one sex over the other ( bi people have told me they like both, but prefer one over the other), there are ALOT of people who have the capacity to find interest in both. It may not be genetic. Other factors play a part in the development of the fetus. For some gay people, you can even see that their bodies are physically different.

  • I'm not a democrat, but Richardson is correct. We cannot choose our ethnicity, but we certainly do choose our behavior. We were all born heterosexual, it's just that about 2% of the population drift to homosexuality as a result of the depravity of man.

  • oh i'm sorry i was talking to ndwale. i didnt read your comment only the initial one. sorry i should have directed my comment.

  • how can you understand for sure unless you actually are gay? you both are biased

  • people are not born gay- this is a lie being used to make it okay for homosexuals to be..please this is a lie ...dont fall for it

  • Yes finally someone with common sense. EVERYTHING is a choice, of course except mental retardation which is not a choice.

  • "I'm not a scientist".

    Says is all really.

  • You choose to be gay? So I can just choose to change my sexual orientation to 100% homosexual and vice versa? Where did you do your PhD?

  • Yes you can. Wow how does it feel to have a conscience and know you can make decisions you little baby?

  • he is such an ignorant!!!

  • gays and lesbians ARE ppl

  • Wow really?! I thought they were fucking cyborgs from the planet Zars who fly around inside an inflatable ding-dong.

  • FUCK YOU! you cant choose to be homosexual! wth why are ppl so ignorant!? and also, why do ppl fake it? fakers make us lookk bad, thats where this "choice" came from?...

  • Ok then fag. I'll say that I was born a murderer so just accept it and that's the way it is. I refuse to STFU until I whine enough and get rights to make sure I don't put in jail because there's a MURDER gene inside me and I can't help it. Being gay is a choice, no doubt about that.

  • That's the stupidest thing I think I've heard yet, ominuka. Sexuality has no cause even after repeated studies. People who commit murder have all kind of precursors in their lives that lead to them being someone capable of committing murder. Serial killers have an even more definite pattern. Your argument is stupid. Some things are a choice, some aren't. Sexuality isn't.

  • ominka: You won't get a gay guy saying it was a choice. You also never get a straight guy saying it's a choice available to him personally. So if you genuinely have a "choice", then you're bisexual. That would explain why you have such in interest in homosexuality, I know none of my straight friends would sit online looking up gay related stuff.

  • Ok then, I guess Bill Richardson must be bisexual too then according to your handicap theory.

  • People are born gay, as usual, you have a whole bunch of hypocrite Christians who absolutely know nothing about the subject but claim to be the experts. Of course they will say people choose to be that way, otherwise they wouldn't be able to keep justifying bigotry, hatred, discrimination, hate crimes, taking the scripture out of context. well all these good Christian values.

God hates infertile people, infertility is a choice.

  • Fuck y'all who believe it's gentics that's the dumbest thing I ever heard just like evolution, takes 2,000 years to a primate to evolve into something without a creator. LMAO bullshit.

  • Actually, Richardson was correct and should have stuck to it. People arent "born gay", any more than they are born with fetishes. Childhood experiences shape later sexual orientations. The dumb part is Melissa Ethridge saying "maybe you didnt understand the question", as if the only PC answer is that people are "born gay" and you arent allowed to believe otherwise. Sorry Melissa, it IS a "choice", but its generally made at a very young age.

  • I'm confused. You're saying childhood experiences shape a person's ORIENTATION, which implies there is no choice in the matter, but you're saying Richardson is correct in that it's a choice. Which is it? A choice or not a choice? Furthermore, if you're trying to convey that it's solely a choice, you might not want to use the word "orientation."

  • What are you talking about. a homosexual has a choice between having anal sex with a man or woman,he choses the man, therefore he is gay.

  • I guess its not ok for Democrats to be Pro-Choice on the Gay thing?

  • Psychologists differ about this answer, and Richardson's response reflects this. Even if it is a choice, what difference does it make to whether equal rights should apply? No difference, which is exactly what Richardson said.

  • Those of us who are gay know it's not a choice.

As a straight person how can he answer that question?

  • @rovermont A lot of people would like to believe we're just lying about not having a choice, because that's how far people will go to protect their religious beliefs. If it were a choice, then I could just choose the obvious choice-straight! Then my folks would approve, I could get legally married in any state, I could have children without jumping through hoops, I could avoid being made fun of at school, and avoid insults from idiots who compare my love to things like rape and murder.

  • Wasn't fair. Bill couldn't succinctly answer the question because he was obviously too distracted by the beefcake sitting on the couch.

  • I get the same feeling. There's still no proof it's not a choice. Making him say what we want him to say won't help. For Etheridge to smirk is just plain wrong. We have to be as tolerant as we're asking straight people to be. Richardson seems as committed as any of the other candidates, none of whom support marriage. Hillary might come out with a statement saying we're born this way but in the end she'll do what gets here elected and nothing more.

  • Gay people can prove it's not a choice because it's a choice they never got the opportunity to make. It was made for them.

  • I got the feeling those things never crossed his mind before.

  • Melissa is a little strident about the choice thing. Obviously, Richardson hasn't even considered if homosexuality is a choice or if we're born this way yet he supports equality. Is it bad that he doesn't know that it's a choice?

  • Absolutely. Because we judge people on their hcoices not how they were born. Saying it is a choice, permits prejudice.

  • whether or not it's a choice is no basis for discrimination, is what i'd like to believe he's trying to say. human rights are human rights. i like the fellow...he's not good on his feet

  • euh yes, I don't even understand how a grown man from a civilized country wouldn't know this

  • yes
