The Democratic Party has not been representative of what I would consider the Left in this Country for quite some time. Only 5 wars out of 200+ wars, in all of US history, have been constitutionally declared.
The rest of the wars violate the constitution that these politicians are supposed to uphold.
The title "Commander In Chief" is applied to the President ONLY when a war has been constitutionally declared.
WWII was the last time Congress formally declared a constitutional war.

People know about him, but they don't know enough about him. They've stuck him with this "spoiler" label, and people don't realize that he's really a serious candidate and the only one who's right on all the issues. Third party politics works best on a local or congressional level, and it would be interesting to see what a national-level force driving it can do. I'm hoping the post-election stuff they have planned is successful.

The Democratic Party has not been representative of what I would consider the Left in this Country for quite some time. However, what Obama has succeeded in accomplishing is absorbing a large portion of the base of the Left -including certain individuals and organizations I would have never imagined- into he new Democratic fold. As such, I think a lot more people on the Left will be less critical of the man and his policies. Pretty sad really.

Every politicans needs to be made to feel vunerable that they'll be out of a job if they take actions against the people's interest,as the people will vote for a 3rd representive.
Voters must also take responsibility if they mandate actions a politician takes against their interests with their unconditional vote, or if they don't vote which means they did nothing to avoid suffering the consequences.

When a third party candidate ran for the abolition of slavery, both major parties OPPOSED the idea. The third party candidate garnered 10% of the votes. He lost. Yet, the popularity was such that it influenced the current administration and future campaigns, forcing the two parties to adopt the proper policies to prevent a revolution.
THAT is why a vote for Nader is never a wasted vote. It's not about winning, it's about the message.

Technically the election hasn't happened. The Electoral College (the biggest insult to democracy ever) has not yet voted, and so, therefore, the new President-Elect has not been chosen. Don't get me wrong, it would be horrible for American democracy if Obama wasn't chosen by it, but still, they should wait until he's OFFICIALLY the President-Elect before giving him top-secret briefings. I don't know, maybe I'm the only one who cares about the political process and the Constitution. Peace!
