@luckyphilster Well, one of the Pursuits in real life (March Hare's I believe) was a 6 cylinder (it used to be a taxi). I'm not sure what Big Bopper's was (it may have been a 6 also). Max's yellow car I am pretty sure was a V-8 (as was the black on black). Max's yellow car in real life also used to be a police car. This replica Big Bopper is AWSOME BTW. beautiful sound on the exhaust notes!

@JMChladek thank you very much for the reply but i've noticed a couple of things. in the movie (which is what i'm concerned with the differences) the pursuits both sound like V8's (although i could be wrong) and max's interceptor is an automatic. in this vid the "big bopper" is manual. so i can only assume that in the movie the pursuits and the interceptor was a V8. the reason why it couldn't outrun the night rider. still not sure...

well, maybe - this one has a V8, 302 or 351 cleveland from the factory. The 6's were also same as US sixes by and large too - only difference was the 250 2V which had seperate intake, 2 bbl carb, different head - I had one in my XB coupe before I put the 351 in.

it would be the original pre cross- flow 250, i used to have a xb falcon panel van and it sounded exactly like that does, my van had the 250 pre-cross flow i had extractors with a twin exhaust system, i had it set up that the first three pipes from the extractors into a collector pipe that went out one side to the back of the van and the other three pipes into a collector pipe that went out the other side to the back of the van, it sounded pretty cool too.

302 Cleveland V8's were/are exclusive to Australia.

I have to agree w/ the previous two comments, I like this car better than "The Last of the V8 Interceptors". It's a superbad car, for sure, but for me there is always something about a sedan, sorry, a saloon, with big power, wicked mags ,and balls that trumps a coupe. On a side note, Ford's straight six cylinder engines of the '60s and '70s had the highest torque peak at the lowest rpm of all Ford engines, including V8s. The Australian division of Ford also made a cylinder head unique to the Australian market which allowed two-barrel V8 carburetors.
