cont... that relies on sentiments and what naive, angry people want to hear rather than the reality of politics. The BNP for instance talks about stopping all immigration and pulling out of the EU but they won't tell people about the economic complexities of the issues. Any party that thinks in black and white terms has to be watched.

I'll probably vote Lib Dem. Their policies aren't perfect but they have stood against Tory and Labour policies and have been right on important issues. Whats more is they have a reasonably realistic chance of forming a government. Ive studied their policies and manifesto and whilst I take issue with some stances, I think they are the best option.

If you don't want a "divided society", you need to make better use of your empathy and intelligence. Of course we cannot allow subsections of society to establish legal systems that defy our own. I don't know how few Muslims want that, but it's few enough to make it an impossibility. And ordinary people from traditionally Muslim countries are no more responsible for their beliefs and the (almost non-existent) threat they pose to us than the UK's own people are. Care about and for the innocent.

It's really hard for people to understand each other- we can be so different. As you know, empathy isn't about agreeing with someone. It's about trying to understand them: because they are a human being as well, after all. Empathy is thinking, "Why does this human being hold that belief that I feel so strongly against? What's behind their thoughts and behaviour?" Even, "What's behind mine?" And then, as you are a caring person, "What response from me would most help the human cause?"

The Qur'an probably is full of rubbish, yeah. It'll have some really good stuff in it too, which will help people live well. I don't try and read and understand the Qur'an any more than I do the Bible. We don't have time for all that. But understand PEOPLE, including Muslims and Christians isn't something you have to dedicate your life to. It's just a matter of, when you encounter someone different, trying to understand how their common humanity (and goodness) fits into the picture.

The best way to settle this, Labour, is to do what you should have done if you had the interest of democracy, the UK and it's people at heart, and have the referendum.

Too late now though, and once democratic process is forced upon you next election, with no way for you to obstruct it, you'll be rightfully outed like you should have been before Brown was even in.

I'd start preparing to be the opposition for at least the next decade, and be grateful for that. You deserve enforced disbanding.
