The Pope has quite the collection of titles... Also, the 'not all papists are rapists' line is genius, and I love this song/letter all the more for it.
The Director of the House of Theosophy, Bill Lambert, declares that the Roman Catholic Pope is going to be a "proper receptor" to the Antichrist and will be the Supreme Leader of the new global religion of the Antichrist. This part of the New World Order Plan labels the Pope as the Biblical False Prophet.
@GokyBoo While Lambert's 'source' is the polar opposite of mine & those of Faith, he is correct. Ratzinger was identified as the future False Prophet/Antichrist by Mary at LaSalette in 1846, which is 100% Coherent with Scripture. His 'function' as you describe it, is very close to reality.
I'm not Catholic, but I am Christian and therefore have a certain respect for the Catholic Church. That said, I think that these pedophiles are sick, twisted human beings.
Because regardless of all forgiveness and mercy, first priority must be the protection of those children. And anyone who tries to manage PR before protecting them is a fool.
That said, I think the Hitler Youth thing is a low blow. People can change. That's the whole point of Christianity: You can repent. Y U NOT LET HIM?
@nokshor because the pope is a sick fuc* he obviously has not changed he is still a evil little vermin he let everything go on and instead of having the pervs arrested he just said oh well lets just move you to another church while i believe that people can change the pope has not plus he chose to be a Hitlers youth
@nokshor Ratz has never changed; nor has he ever repented or atoned for his personal & family Nazi past. In his autobiography he specifically states that he WILLINGLY joined the HJ. There is NO excuse for this!
He claims to be of the Catholic Faith? Then he is a liar. As one who has Faith would know that the HJ is evil. Germans knew full well what it was; & he joined it gladly.
Could we please have the many $billions which the members& cooperators of Legatus & Opus Dei plundered from the US govt. in 2008? And could you please absolve all the debt of credit card holders & homeowners in danger of forclosure - whose debt you own, via a string of corporate ownership & investment? And could you please do as Jesus taught & sell the wealth of the Church to feed the poor?
@oresti1productions While he occupies an office & fulfills a 'function', Ratzinger is most definately NOT a legitimate 'pope'. Not a legitimate successor to Peter, in any sense.
His (rigged..) 'election' was arranged by Opus Dei, of which he is a very willing collaborator.
The final, in line, legitimate successor to Peter was buried in April of 2005. There will be no more.
Let's all just remember this is just some good hip hop doesn't matter if his facts are correct. Then again I am atheist and don't believe in fairy tales.
You should do one of these 'Dear' videos to a muslim cleric in Saudi Arabaia or some other shithole, where they stone innocent people to death and throw acid on women’s’ faces. But you probably just want to be trendy and anti-establishment in a safe, socially acceptable way, so keep on making nazi jokes lololol.
No atheists are trying to eradicate religion, we just think it's a personal matter and has no place in political debate. You can believe in any mythological being you want - I couldn't care less.
If anything it's people like you who are the problem - you are happy for your church to spread it's ideas, but want atheists to keep quiet and not do the same? And you compare us to dictatorial regimes?
@tothemountains mate im glad to hear that you are indifferent but it is a bit naive to believe that no atheist want to eradicate religion it would be like saying no Muslims want to eradicate Jews or christian want to eradicate Muslims. Differences breed fear, fear breeds hatred, hatred leads to violence. Stalin was an atheist and he killed thousands of religious people because they were religious.
@tothemountains I'll name some Atheists that have wanted to eradicate religion for you if you believe none do
Karl Marx, Stalin, Richard Dawkins, Adolf Hitler, the current ruling party of China, they control the states religion to suit its own needs, Humanist Association, most secular organisations around the world.
Religion should be in the public light, for as much as most Atheists hate to admit it, more people are devoutly religious then are Atheist CONT
CONT... as we live in a representative democracy, should religion not be in politics if the population they represent if they have a religious populous? ignoring a majority, or even only a slight minority, is oppression, and im sure that is against most peoples moral codes? it is against the United Nations, religion isnt just a private matter, for example the majority of the Laws in europe come from the Church, and Bible, Europe at its core is built by religion, whether it be pagan or Abrahamic.
There is a big difference between religious representation and deciding that everyone should live by the standards of the majority religion. Gay marriage being a good example, I'd say over 90% of the people who have a problem with gay marriage have religious based reasons for being against it.
@Yanma And should there opinions not be heard within The House of Commons? The House of Lords? The Senate? The House of Representatives? a government that makes it laws on purely secular opinions, when their populace is religious, is a government doomed to fail, as it will anger the population, when everything isn't given for open debate, and double standards persist.
Sure, they can have their opinions. But it shouldn't infringe on our rights. Wail and gnash your teeth, but you don't always get to have your way because not everyone thinks the way you do. This isn't a double-standard, it's about avoiding a tyranny of the majority.
Besides, if we decided to devote less money to the military and more towards education I think you'd find that our percentage of religious people would start decreasing dramatically.
@Yanma Its quite a fallacy to deduce that the uneducated are the religious, the majority of martyrs that were made during the reformation, wasn't the uneducated, it was the highly educated, the politicians, and the clergymen. I'm Catholic myself, in our congregation we have solicitors, doctors, business men and women, i myself am preparing to study a BA degree. It's quite an insult to say its the uneducated (in effect saying thick people) that are religious.
I'm not saying that ALL religious people are. But if you look there is a definite trend towards uneducated being religious, and the more educated being atheist or agnostic. You can look up the numbers. I know it doesn't necessarily mean that being uneducated makes you religious, but the numbers don't lie.
@Yanma Basic maths tell you that statistics can be skewed in whatever way the holder wants to skew them, therefore statistics are socially constructed and can infact lie.
Education might diminish religious fundamentalism (such as bible literalists), but the correlation between faith and education, is not one to be taken at face value, as the statistics can be highly skewed, im taking A2 Level Statistics, and thats one of the basic premises of stats, they can be made to say whatever you want.
Even so, that doesn't mean that there isn't a correlation. Science is the enemy of religion because religion is inherently based off of irrational faith. The more you educate someone the more they understand the world and will look at it with a knowledgeable, logical, and reasoned eye, These things most often lead to an abandoning of old religious ideas.
@Yanma I have to disagree with your claim that science and religion are enemies. Religion nowadays is often seen as an answer to the questions which science cannot satisfy, and as many scientists in the present day will tell you: science and religion don't necessarily have to be enemies, in fact they can complement each other. Religion is a way of life and not to be taken literally as many atheists believe it is and therefore discredit it, it provides spiritual answers which science cannot,
@Yanma Such as the origins of the universe and the reasons for our existence and purpose. I know theories have been around suggesting answers for these (I study theoretical physics at university)
And yes there may be a lot of religious zealots around but the majority don't take the bible literally. I have been raised a catholic but turned agnostic, my maternal side of the family is very catholic and I know they know the world wasn't created in 7 days. Instead, they abide by certain aspects
"Such as the origins of the universe and the reasons for our existence and purpose"
Yeah, religion only has a hypothesis. You'd have to have evidence for it to be a theory, this is why science is ahead of religion.
"but the majority don't take the bible literally."
The majority take enough of the bible literally. Why do you think gay marriage is still an issue? Hell, why do we have creationist museums with dinosaurs and humans co-existing?
@Yanma (such as the 10 commandments) which gives them a moral foundation from which they can be aided in taking decisions.
There are a lot of religious scientists out there, how can that be if they're polar opposites? It's simply because religion doesn't aim to explain how life came about (we all know the Bible did poor attempt at that :P), but teaches how to live your life, while science does aim at explaining how we came about. That is how I believe they go hand in hand.
@Yanma I know it can seem they are polar opposites since religion is based on belief rather than evidence, something a lot of us cannot understand (myself included) but this is what seperates believers from non-believers: faith. Something agnostics and atheists won't find through rationality since that is the fundemental difference between science and religion, you cannot prove faith.
Yes, you cannot prove faith. Which is why I think it has no place alongside science. Religion aren't facts and actively impede science when they conflict. There are people who honestly do no think evolution is real.
@Yanma Think of it in this analogy: Imagine the universe and its purpose, mechanism and everything is a giant fruit salad, where science is apples and religion is grapes. Just because grapes aren't apples doesn't mean grapes don't belong in the fruit salad, in the same way religion doesn't belong to the universe. Sorry for the rant :P
@baguetteman69 If there are questions that science cannot answer, then asking your local priest for answers makes just as much sense as asking your local hair stylist for answers. They both know exactly the same about these questions: Nothing.
@Yanma the double standard does exist nowadays, Richard Dawkins gets to do a whole documentary series on the evils of religion and why it should be eradicated, yet we rarely, if ever see a positive documentary on religion, or an actual member of the clergy or theologian speaking on religious matters, the only time an educated man on religion has been on TV, was the papal visit.
We apparently have reliigous freedom, yet I'm told to take a set of roasry beads off in college, that's not freedom.
@Adza2007 The penultimate 'Atheists' who want to eradicate Faith in God are not those who you name. Rather, look to the denizens of Opus Dei, who (literally) own the Vatican. Masters of the Dialectic & Strategy of Tension, they work with & via elements on both the Left & Right. Via both useful idiots & moles.
Clue: in Poland, both the Communist groups AND Solidarnosc were run by Catholic priests & laity; both were supported & funded by Opus Dei.
Homosexuals make up 10% of the population but were responsible for 60% of the CHILD RAPE in the Catholic church! Do the maths and that makes HOMOSEXUALS 13 TIMES MORE LIKELY TO RAPE A CHILD than a normal person!
@turdbogbuster Bread eaters are responsible for 98.7% of the CHILD RAPE in the entire UK. Do the maths and that makes ANYONE WHO EATS BREAD TWENTY BAZILLION TIMES MORE LIKE RAPE A CHILD.
Anyone can do unsourced statistics. Because they account for fuck all. You can spin it anyway you like, the problem with child rapists is still that they rape children, not their fucking sexual orientation. Until you understand that you will continue to sound like an idiot.
@rabidsi Most people find homosexuals a bit pervy and would not trust them. My calculations simply confirm this fear that HOMOSEXUALS ARE 13 TIMES MORE LIKELY TO RAPE A CHILD than a normal person!
It amazes me how many people love to raise the Hitler Youth argument against him like he had a choice at the age of 14 in a war-torn and Hitler-led Germany. He hadn't. Infact if he refused he'd be sent to a concentration camp and as Wikipedia quotes "but was an unenthusiastic member who refused to attend meetings". I'm not entirely defending him, but it's amazing how many people like to repeat this argument without even checking for themselves if it's actually true.
@cosmiquedj By law all boys were required to take Nazi indoctrination in the HitlerJugend at age 10, as of December 1936. Thus Ratz joined no latter then April of '37 when he was 10. By his own words he joined WILLINGLY.
His dad worked for the SS & the family was known as pro-Nazi. The 'seminary' he went to was run by HJ teachers. At 14 in '41 he entered the senior HJ & began Nazi military service, including guarding slave laborers from Dachau.....
@GeneticsFTW Historic fact: Thousands of German kids refused to join the HJ. Some left home so their families would not be harmed. Some fled Germany; some lived in the woods.Or went to cities to blend into crowds. There are also accounts of kids who joined the HJ but quit when they saw how sick it was.
Age7 = the age of Reason, when you are able to know right from wrong; & culpable for doing evil. He was old enough to know what he was doing & made a conscious choice for evil.
@19lfm12 I doubt you would be so condescending if you were in young Ratty's position, and I highly doubt that you would put up meaningful resistance at that age.
@GeneticsFTW Do you lack reading comprehension? Pay attention now...I am going to use some grown up words:
THOUSANDS OF KIDS REFUSED TO JOIN THE HJ
They did so as they saw it was completely immoral & sick. They wanted nothing to do with the Nazi regime & resisted it. Some did so with family support; some without. This is called: BRAVERY. They stood up for what is right.
There are MANY kids, then or now, who refuse to submit to immoral authoritarian bullshit!
@19lfm12 Now I'd have thought that a man as educated and freethinking as yourself would know that you are wasting your time talking sense to religionists and Trolls? ;)
There is a difference between being a fantical 'religionist' & believing in God. The fanatics do not really believe in God; they believe in Fanaticism...a false construct of God.
I have no issue with Agnostics, Atheists & other non-Christians or non-believers.
I DO have an issue with fanatics who only serve to make Theists appear insane.
there wasnt nothing wrong with the HitlerJugend, it was like a scouting community. They encouraged sports and they had a very close community of children so it was very social. But just because the name "Hitler" is in the name people automatically think it was a childrens organisation that tranported jews themselves or something! It was normal that every kid of certain regions joined it and remember most of the people didnt know about the holocaust till after the war!
@lifeishelllol You are either deluded or in Denial of reality. The HitlerJugend was NOT the boy scouts; it was occult indoctrination. Factually, most Germans were well aware of the existence of the camps, as there were hundreds of them in Germany & elsewhere in Europe. Those in Europe who said "we did not know' were lying; in Denial.
As to the US, our govt. officially turned a blind eye to the Shoah....even though they knew all about it.
Those who were of God refused to join the HJ. They either fled the country or hid, joining the various resistance efforts; bravely risking their lives for moral justice. In other words, they were willing to risk all for God.
Those who served lucifer joined the HJ. They had no faith in God, even if they labelled themselves as 'Catholic' or 'Christian'. They served evil; thus betraying God.
@19lfm12 is it not a little harsh to accuse them for being anti-christians? and i don't think you know to much about "the resistance" of the time periode, but there were only a very little one doing the actually war.
@MikeDaner2630 What I wrote is called 'honesty'. Perhaps this is a new concept to you. As I have family members (both Jewish AND Christian) who are in the Holocaust database, I know quite a bit. We also have close friends of the family who fled Germany & its puppet states to evade the HJ, etc. Their escape was aided by the resistance groups.
The true Christians either went to the camps for their Faith, or worked with the underground/resistance efforts.
@MikeDaner2630 If you think that God is man-made.....that is your affair. But one may only be 'Christian' if one does & LIVES as Jesus taught. Joining the HJ obviously is immoral. Children know right from wrong by age 6-7; the age of reason, when they become morally culpable for their actions.
Only a minority of Christians were 'Christian' during the Nazi regime. These were those willing to risk prison, torture & death to do what is just.
Before WW2 most of the Europe hatred Jews because Jews could lend money and demand interest, which Christians can't. So after WW1, when Germany had to pay war reparations and the inflation made the money worthless, ppl begain to blame the Jews for "stealing" their money through interests.
@MikeDaner2630 In reality....it was Catholics - the Knights Templar - who invented modern systems of banking, credit, etc. The 'blame it on the Jew' concept was overt racism, intentionally devised to divert attention from this reality & to encourage the laity to hate Jews, for many generations.
That a minority of Jews eventually became involved in banking/lending is irrelevant.
Homosexuals make up 10% of the population but were responsible for 60% of the CHILD RAPE in the Catholic church! Do the maths and that makes HOMOSEXUALS 13 TIMES MORE LIKELY TO RAPE A CHILD than a normal person!
@turdbogbuster I'm sorry but it is blatantly obvious from your choice of name and your homophobic ranting that you are gay, so why don't you just stop the hating and come on out of the closet, trust me it's far nicer out here than in there.
@turdbogbuster OK lets just assume your statistic is actually true, shall we 'do the maths?'
You may have a grasp of elementary division/mulitplication etc, but clearly none of statistics. For a stat like yours to be extrapolated to the population as a whole it must come from a sample representative of that population.
Somehow I don't think celibate priests teaching classes/choirs entirely made out of boys can't in any way be classed as 'normal' in society.
Homosexuals make up 10% of the population but were responsible for 60% of the CHILD RAPE in the Catholic church! Do the maths and that makes HOMOSEXUALS 13 TIMES MORE LIKELY TO RAPE A CHILD than a normal person!
@turdbogbuster those statistics are false, but many people class homosexual child abuse as ANY male on male sexual abuse to help support their agenda. The reality is the studies have show time and time again that homosexuals are actually equally represented to underrepresented in child abuse statistics and the majority offenders in male on male child abuse cases are heterosexual. Using false and misleading statistics is the only way for you to make any case.
@turdbogbuster I'm sorry but it is blatantly obvious from your choice of name and your homophobic ranting that you are gay, so why don't you just stop the hating and come on out of the closet, trust me it's far nicer out here than in there.
nice one again dan, hes on his way to glasgow aswell, i just found out they are evicting local residents while hes here because the flats they live in can be used as sniper nests what a fucking joke, £20 to hear him ramble pointless shit for five minutes and "feign exhaution" when he cant be arsed disrupting peoples lives anymore. £2 million in tax payers money to police the area? they cant be arsed to police it any other time of the year now old peado pope turns up we foot the bill!
Homosexuals are now screened out from joining the priesthood. Seems to cleared up the paedophile problem at the same time. Funny that you'd almost think they were linked!
@turdbogbuster Gays are most certainly NOT 'screened out' from the priesthood! This is merely window dressing. Current seminarians are merely required to 'staighten up'; most of them are still very gay (closeted or not). It's just playing a game.
You have not yet begun to see the tip of the iceberg of the Clerical Abuse Crisis; as it has been ongoing for over 1000 years will full knowledge of Vatican officials.
I don't like rap, but somehow the accent won me over. Plus, I'm game for anything like this, anti-pope-protecting-pedophiles and all that. Seriously, I don't see how any Catholic can respect their Church anymore.
I like this tune, I just think some of the comments you made in there are misleading and not necessarily true, the Hitler Youth, everyone knows that every teen in the age of the 3rd Reich had to serve in the Hitler Youth, and while there media gives the Church a lot of attention, a lot of the "recent" cases are from 20+ years ago, with many priests being dealt with via canon law, forced to spend life in a monastery, after being defrocked and excommunicated
If you're suppose to be the divine head of the church, then you'd better damn sure do what Sophie Scholl did when she encountered the Nazis. Look her up. So I think the Hitler Youth criticism is OK, because he is suppose to be god's gift to man or some shit.
@kives1985 The Pope is a man, the holder of the St of St Peter yes, but a man. A Man that know speaks out against the Mafia in Sicily, speaks out about the legalised infanticide we call abortions, yes he made mistakes in his youth, but haven't we all ? If any person claims they are sinless, and have never made mistakes, they are lying to themselves, and to everyone else. Why should we expect the Pope to be any different? he is after all, a man.
@kives1985 according to the OfNS, there are around 190,000 abortions performed each year in the UK, that means every ten years, that's a population the size of Birmingham killed. most of these abortions will be performed because the mother simply couldn't behave, got pregnant and then didn't want to face the consequences. If a government was to kill 190,000 people a year, just because it felt like it, that is Genocide, so how is killing 190,000 babies not Infanticide?
@SketchSepahi You seem to have no understanding of the Doctrine of Papal infallibility. Papal infallibility says the Pope is infallible on matters of "Faith and Morals" only when speaking from the "Seat of St Peter", nowhere in the doctrine does it say the Popes actions are infallible and he is sinless, to state that it does shows you have no understanding of the Churches teachings.
@Adza2007 So when the Pope "from the seat of St Peter" morally condemns atheists for being Nazists, that would be a good example of his infallibility?
Also I didn't say that any doctrine claims the Pope to be sinless. Learn to read.
@SketchSepahi First, there has not been a declaration from the Seat of St Peter since 1950, which was the declaration of the assumption of Mary by Pope Pius XII. Second when the Holy Father compared Atheism to Nazism, he spoke of Militant Atheists who wish to eradicate religion completely, which is exactly what the Nazis attempted to do in there occupied lands, but this does not constitute a solemn proclamation from the Seat, that his the Holy Fathers opinion, not a doctrinal matter.
@Adza2007 I was wrong then. That still has nothing to do with my point. You asked why we should expect the Pope to be different - implying that we are holding him to unreasonable standards where the proper standards ought be those of any other man. My response was a rhetoric point that it's not WE who are raising the standards for the Pope, but the Pope and the Church. Once the Church starts treating the Pope like any other fallible man, THEN we can talk about not expecting differently of him.
@SketchSepahi The Church treats the Pope how every country treats it's leader, if you ask pretty much any Catholic that actually knows the teachings of the Church, we all know the Holy Father is a fallible man, who has sinned, who makes mistakes HOWEVER we also know that when he speaks on doctrinal matters on faith and morals, from the Seat of St Peter to the whole Church or in unison with the Magisterium, the teaching is infallible due to its protection from err by God. The only people who.....
hold Pope Benedict to any unusal, and unreasonable, standard are those that criticise him. unfortunately those that criticise him are usually the people who speak loudest, even if they are not the majority, as was shown at Hyde park, 5000 people turned up to protest the visit, while around 80,000 gathered in Hyde park (numbers may be slightly off, but not by much.)
Even in our own lifetime, we can recall how Britain and her leaders stood against a Nazi tyranny that wished to eradicate God from society and denied our common humanity to many, especially the Jews, who were thought unfit to live. I also recall the regime’s attitude to Christian pastors and religious who spoke the truth in love, opposed the Nazis and paid for that opposition with their lives.
@SketchSepahi CONTD...As we reflect on the sobering lessons of the atheist extremism of the twentieth century, let us never forget how the exclusion of God, religion and virtue from public life leads ultimately to a truncated vision of man and of society and thus to a “reductive vision of the person and his destiny.”
@SketchSepahi CONTD1 The Pope had just gone on to the next logical step after the Pagan Nazis. "The sobering lessons of the atheist extremism of the twentieth century" were from Atheistic Communism which killed many more people than the Nazis ever did.
The Pope was not comparing Atheist extremists to the Nazis, he was comparing them to the Atheistic Soviet Union and other communist regimes.
@Adza2007 Very nice official BS.......for the Vatican, 'infallibility' means whatever they want it to mean & apply to whomever they wish, as it fits their agenda. Classic Situational Ethics!
The word 'infallible' = never false/always true.
By simple logic, you cannot pick & choose when you are 'infallible'; you either are - or are not.End of story. Even sillier: we either are to believe that the Holy Spirit granted it only from 1870 onward....or retroactively.
@Adza2007 1) Fact: Catholic Clerical Sex Abuse has been ongoing for over 1000 years with the full knowledge of Vatican officials; & has been cited as a crime in Canon Law for as long.
2) Ratz joined the HitlerJugend willingly, by his own words
3) His family was well known in his town as being pro-Nazi
4) His dad worked for the SS
5) Ratz guarded slave laborers at Dachau, deported Hungarian Jews to death camps, & was a guard in the Dachau subcamp in Trauenstein.
@19lfm12 I like how all the belligerent fools decided to just walk away silently after you contested them with logic and researched facts. I tip my hat to you, good sir.
Indeed, all of those facts are the result of extensive research - plus ignoring the official propaganda fairy tale which passes for his 'life story'. When you read a bio of a human who is posited as NEVER having done any wrong (& where all possible stain of wrong is 'spun' away), you are reading...bullshit.
FYI - any sane bio of any real saint clearly shows their human flaws & sins; that they are real people.
I'm not a Catholic, but I'm a chap that thinks some of your actions stink and want to ask some things !

And you compare us to dictatorial regimes?
tothemountains 1 year ago
@tothemountains mate im glad to hear that you are indifferent but it is a bit naive to believe that no atheist want to eradicate religion it would be like saying no Muslims want to eradicate Jews or christian want to eradicate Muslims. Differences breed fear, fear breeds hatred, hatred leads to violence. Stalin was an atheist and he killed thousands of religious people because they were religious.
junkmonkeyramm2 1 year ago
@tothemountains I'll name some Atheists that have wanted to eradicate religion for you if you believe none do
Karl Marx, Stalin, Richard Dawkins, Adolf Hitler, the current ruling party of China, they control the states religion to suit its own needs, Humanist Association, most secular organisations around the world.
Religion should be in the public light, for as much as most Atheists hate to admit it, more people are devoutly religious then are Atheist CONT
Adza2007 1 year ago
CONT... as we live in a representative democracy, should religion not be in politics if the population they represent if they have a religious populous? ignoring a majority, or even only a slight minority, is oppression, and im sure that is against most peoples moral codes? it is against the United Nations, religion isnt just a private matter, for example the majority of the Laws in europe come from the Church, and Bible, Europe at its core is built by religion, whether it be pagan or Abrahamic.
Adza2007 1 year ago
@Adza2007
There is a big difference between religious representation and deciding that everyone should live by the standards of the majority religion. Gay marriage being a good example, I'd say over 90% of the people who have a problem with gay marriage have religious based reasons for being against it.
Yanma 1 year ago
@Yanma And should there opinions not be heard within The House of Commons? The House of Lords? The Senate? The House of Representatives? a government that makes it laws on purely secular opinions, when their populace is religious, is a government doomed to fail, as it will anger the population, when everything isn't given for open debate, and double standards persist.
Adza2007 1 year ago
@Adza2007
Yanma 1 year ago
@Yanma Its quite a fallacy to deduce that the uneducated are the religious, the majority of martyrs that were made during the reformation, wasn't the uneducated, it was the highly educated, the politicians, and the clergymen. I'm Catholic myself, in our congregation we have solicitors, doctors, business men and women, i myself am preparing to study a BA degree. It's quite an insult to say its the uneducated (in effect saying thick people) that are religious.
CONT...
Adza2007 1 year ago
@Adza2007
I'm not saying that ALL religious people are. But if you look there is a definite trend towards uneducated being religious, and the more educated being atheist or agnostic. You can look up the numbers. I know it doesn't necessarily mean that being uneducated makes you religious, but the numbers don't lie.
Yanma 1 year ago
@Yanma Basic maths tell you that statistics can be skewed in whatever way the holder wants to skew them, therefore statistics are socially constructed and can infact lie.
Education might diminish religious fundamentalism (such as bible literalists), but the correlation between faith and education, is not one to be taken at face value, as the statistics can be highly skewed, im taking A2 Level Statistics, and thats one of the basic premises of stats, they can be made to say whatever you want.
Adza2007 1 year ago
@Adza2007

Religion is a way of life and not to be taken literally as many atheists believe it is and therefore discredit it, it provides spiritual answers which science cannot,
baguetteman69 1 year ago
@baguetteman69
"science cannot satisfy"
Such as?
". Religion is a way of life and not to be taken literally as many atheists believe it is"
I'd believe that if religious people didn't take it as literally as I think they do.
"science and religion don't necessarily have to be enemies"
Faith is the polar opposite of science, it's believing in something with ZERO evidence or reason. That isn't compatible with science.
Yanma 1 year ago
@Yanma Such as the origins of the universe and the reasons for our existence and purpose. I know theories have been around suggesting answers for these (I study theoretical physics at university)
And yes there may be a lot of religious zealots around but the majority don't take the bible literally. I have been raised a catholic but turned agnostic, my maternal side of the family is very catholic and I know they know the world wasn't created in 7 days. Instead, they abide by certain aspects
baguetteman69 1 year ago
@baguetteman69
Yanma 1 year ago
@Yanma (such as the 10 commandments) which gives them a moral foundation from which they can be aided in taking decisions.
There are a lot of religious scientists out there, how can that be if they're polar opposites? It's simply because religion doesn't aim to explain how life came about (we all know the Bible did poor attempt at that :P), but teaches how to live your life, while science does aim at explaining how we came about. That is how I believe they go hand in hand.

baguetteman69 1 year ago
@Yanma I know it can seem they are polar opposites since religion is based on belief rather than evidence, something a lot of us cannot understand (myself included) but this is what seperates believers from non-believers: faith. Something agnostics and atheists won't find through rationality since that is the fundemental difference between science and religion, you cannot prove faith.
baguetteman69 1 year ago
@baguetteman69
Yes, you cannot prove faith. Which is why I think it has no place alongside science. Religion aren't facts and actively impede science when they conflict. There are people who honestly do no think evolution is real.
Yanma 1 year ago
@Yanma Think of it in this analogy: Imagine the universe and its purpose, mechanism and everything is a giant fruit salad, where science is apples and religion is grapes. Just because grapes aren't apples doesn't mean grapes don't belong in the fruit salad, in the same way religion doesn't belong to the universe. Sorry for the rant :P
baguetteman69 1 year ago
@baguetteman69 If there are questions that science cannot answer, then asking your local priest for answers makes just as much sense as asking your local hair stylist for answers. They both know exactly the same about these questions: Nothing.
lagerbaer 1 year ago
@Yanma the double standard does exist nowadays, Richard Dawkins gets to do a whole documentary series on the evils of religion and why it should be eradicated, yet we rarely, if ever see a positive documentary on religion, or an actual member of the clergy or theologian speaking on religious matters, the only time an educated man on religion has been on TV, was the papal visit.
We apparently have reliigous freedom, yet I'm told to take a set of roasry beads off in college, that's not freedom.
Adza2007 1 year ago
@Adza2007 The penultimate 'Atheists' who want to eradicate Faith in God are not those who you name. Rather, look to the denizens of Opus Dei, who (literally) own the Vatican. Clue: in Poland, both the Communist groups AND Solidarnosc were run by Catholic priests & laity; both were supported & funded by Opus Dei.

There are MANY kids, then or now, who refuse to submit to immoral authoritarian bullshit!

@19lfm12
there wasnt nothing wrong with the HitlerJugend, it was like a scouting community. They encouraged sports and they had a very close community of children so it was very social. But just because the name "Hitler" is in the name people automatically think it was a childrens organisation that tranported jews themselves or something! It was normal that every kid of certain regions joined it and remember most of the people didnt know about the holocaust till after the war!
lifeishelllol 2 weeks ago
@lifeishelllol You are either deluded or in Denial of reality. The HitlerJugend was NOT the boy scouts; it was occult indoctrination. Factually, most Germans were well aware of the existence of the camps, as there were hundreds of them in Germany & elsewhere in Europe. Those in Europe who said "we did not know' were lying; in Denial.
As to the US, our govt. officially turned a blind eye to the Shoah....even though they knew all about it.

@19lfm12 and many more join HJ because of the benefits, the social pressure/standards and, of couse, the goverment
MikeDaner2630 5 days ago
@MikeDaner2630 It is quite simple:
19lfm12 5 days ago
@19lfm12 is it not a little harsh to accuse them for being anti-christians? and i don't think you know to much about "the resistance" of the time periode, but there were only a very little one doing the actually war.
MikeDaner2630 5 days ago
@MikeDaner2630 What I wrote is called 'honesty'. Perhaps this is a new concept to you. As I have family members (both Jewish AND Christian) who are in the Holocaust database, I know quite a bit. We also have close friends of the family who fled Germany & its puppet states to evade the HJ, etc. Their escape was aided by the resistance groups.
The true Christians either went to the camps for their Faith, or worked with the underground/resistance efforts.
19lfm12 4 days ago
@19lfm12 your "honesty" is what I would call "close minded". It lacks true knowledge of the true event.
and by the way evil is depenting on which side is on and by how much.
and God is man-made
MikeDaner2630 3 days ago
@MikeDaner2630 If you think that God is man-made.....that is your affair. But one may only be 'Christian' if one does & LIVES as Jesus taught. Joining the HJ obviously is immoral. Children know right from wrong by age 6-7; the age of reason, when they become morally culpable for their actions.
Only a minority of Christians were 'Christian' during the Nazi regime. These were those willing to risk prison, torture & death to do what is just.
19lfm12 3 days ago
@19lfm12 most Nazis WAS/is Christian.
Before WW2 most of the Europe hatred Jews because Jews could lend money and demand interest, which Christians can't. So after WW1, when Germany had to pay war reparations and the inflation made the money worthless, ppl begain to blame the Jews for "stealing" their money through interests.
MikeDaner2630 3 days ago
@MikeDaner2630 In reality....it was Catholics - the Knights Templar - who invented modern systems of banking, credit, etc. The 'blame it on the Jew' concept was overt racism, intentionally devised to divert attention from this reality & to encourage the laity to hate Jews, for many generations.
That a minority of Jews eventually became involved in banking/lending is irrelevant.

Therefore your entire point is stupid.

@turdbogbuster those statistics are false, but many people class homosexual child abuse as ANY male on male sexual abuse to help support their agenda. Still a brilliant tune though

Adza2007 1 year ago

Abortion isn't infanticide dip shit.
kives1985 1 year ago 3
@kives1985 according to the OfNS, there are around 190,000 abortions performed each year in the UK, that means every ten years, that's a population the size of Birmingham killed. most of these abortions will be performed because the mother simply couldn't behave, got pregnant and then didn't want to face the consequences. If a government was to kill 190,000 people a year, just because it felt like it, that is Genocide, so how is killing 190,000 babies not Infanticide?

@Adza2007 Does this even have anything to do with the video? Also, abortion is NOT infanticide.

@Adza2007 We should expect the Pope to be different because he himself claims to be infallible. The rest of us don't make such claims.
SketchSepahi 1 year ago
@SketchSepahi You seem to have no understanding of the Doctrine of Papal infallibility. Papal infallibility says the Pope is infallible on matters of "Faith and Morals" only when speaking from the "Seat of St Peter", nowhere in the doctrine does it say the Popes actions are infallible and he is sinless, to state that it does shows you have no understanding of the Churches teachings.
Adza2007 1 year ago
@Adza2007 So when the Pope "from the seat of St Peter" morally condemns atheists for being Nazists, that would be a good example of his infallibility?
Also I didn't say that any doctrine claims the Pope to be sinless. Learn to read.
SketchSepahi 1 year ago
@SketchSepahi First, there has not been a declaration from the Seat of St Peter since 1950, which was the declaration of the assumption of Mary by Pope Pius XII. Second when the Holy Father compared Atheism to Nazism, he spoke of Militant Atheists who wish to eradicate religion completely, which is exactly what the Nazis attempted to do in there occupied lands, but this does not constitute a solemn proclamation from the Seat, that his the Holy Fathers opinion, not a doctrinal matter.
Adza2007 1 year ago
@Adza2007 I was wrong then. That still has nothing to do with my point. You asked why we should expect the Pope to be different - implying that we are holding him to unreasonable standards where the proper standards ought be those of any other man. My response was a rhetoric point that it's not WE who are raising the standards for the Pope, but the Pope and the Church. Once the Church starts treating the Pope like any other fallible man, THEN we can talk about not expecting differently of him.
SketchSepahi 1 year ago
@SketchSepahi The Church treats the Pope how every country treats it's leader, if you ask pretty much any Catholic that actually knows the teachings of the Church, we all know the Holy Father is a fallible man, who has sinned, who makes mistakes HOWEVER we also know that when he speaks on doctrinal matters on faith and morals, from the Seat of St Peter to the whole Church or in unison with the Magisterium, the teaching is infallible due to its protection from err by God. The only people who.....

@SketchSepahi CONTD...As we reflect on the sobering lessons of the atheist extremism of the twentieth century, let us never forget how the exclusion of God, religion and virtue from public life leads ultimately to a truncated vision of man and of society and thus to a “reductive vision of the person and his destiny.”
... CONTD1

@kaikarden Thanks:)

@19lfm12 Now, I said this on Y!A answers, and I got blocked.
...Now if I said this in school, I'd be suspended (Catholic school).
