  • Here is a video showing the type of plastic (#6 in the triangle) & the steps, as well as many projects made from the plastic. There are probably others. The beauty of using dies is it will be that much smoother on the edges & perfect shapes. I had forgotten charms are another good project. Take a look:

  • I love this idea. I have tons of saved plastics. Have you tried to see if any of these plastics meet the shrink plastic type that will come out flat & shrink about 70%, like shrinky-dinks? It would be neat to turn some of these into jewelry as well, using a big shape die (circles would be easy).

  • @quilterstitch (Cont'd) Doing the artwork with the inks you suggested, punch the holes oversized ahead of baking, maybe a regular hole-punch. Then shrink in an old toaster oven in the back-yard for safety; I wouldn't want to breathe any burning plastic fumes. I probably wouldn't eat food cooked in that oven again either. There are people on YT who show how to identify what plastics will work for this, can't remember which code in the triangle it was.

  • @quilterstitch (Cont'd) My mother buys jewelry made from shrink-plastics at her church, when they do a fund-raiser...they sell a lot! They make pins, earrings, & necklaces. Materials are cheap, just need the creativity. Hope some of you will look into the idea.

  • I was thinking, maybe instead of cutting up the sizzlet box, maybe you could add an image to the back, like decoupaged, then after it's dry add glittern and small tiny beads and make a shaker card of tag. It might work.

  • Awesome tutorial! Thank you for sharing your ideas and creativity with us!

  • Great ideas! I have been saving mine thinking I'll use them but not knowing what to do with them! Love it!!

  • ...glad to see you brought this out in the daylight ! I also save parts of packaging & recently bought several collapsible fabric boxes to save organized garbage I can use in crafts ! But could cover or decorate product boxes, plastic bottles or other to do the same storage... Even parts of product boxes with unique patterns, prints or color find a place here for my tags & altered "other" !

    I LOVE your ideas !

    thanx !

  • I also cut my packages apart, (don't forget the cricut cart packaging) but keep some intact. The boxes make great holders for sets of smaller cards you may give as gifts, or if you are mailing one with lots of embellishments.

  • TFS great tips, vswaddy620@yahoo.com

  • Keep all the scraps you cut off when making a project and the edges of the boxes too! I put the strips of acrylic across a mini page like a belt sort of, and then slip a tag or photo behind it. If it is a small scrap of the acrylic, I make photo corners from it. Waste not want not! Thanks for sharing!Love the tips in your mini; it looks gorgeous! ---leslie

  • I have to tell you that I really like this idea. I already have ideas on how to use these clear sheets jumping all aound my head. Thanks for this video.

  • I save all my packaging as well. I like how you cut it up, as it takes up less room for storage

  • @TracysTreasures24 they fit in a tiny drawer :) tfw!

  • Hi there thanks for that tip I just got a bigshot and I am learning what to do with everything. I love recycling too. I just subscribed to your channel for more ideas. Hugs Doreen
