this game is totally awful. but as a kid I played it a lot in the arcade simply because it had some seriously amazing music. Back in the day before the internet where we could just rip that shit for ourselves (I have have ripped the songs off this game since), i actually payed real quarters and survived this game just to hear that music.

if you listen to the soundtrack to this even today it's totally kick ass.

I think it was an in-joke. The five-dollar word for masturbation is "onanism", and in Japanese it's called "onani". The term comes from the Old Testament. Onan was ordered to have sex with his brother's widow and give her children. He had sex, but "spilled his seed" and God slew him.
