Gotta agree with many opinions here. Where's the mystery? She OD'd on methadone. She would have taken a bit of the drug to get a buzz after drinking and went into respritory failure. Currently on methadone and on and off for well over 12 years I know that it's a distinct taste. You'd easily know if someone had put it into your drink. Boyfriend is just scapegoat for frantic parents.

Here's what I think-Ashley got drunk and accidentally took the methadone herself, her mother is in denial and wants to blame the boyfriend just so she can have "closure" on her daughter's death :/

This was an accidental drug abuse overdose! Because she wasn't a drug user, she didn't know what she was doing; took wat was there and it killed her. She was a beautiful girl who was convinced she would make it big in being a actress. Pyschologically, if you have a goal in life that doesn't happen immediately, it starts to get to you. Pain gets to you. This girl might've been inoccent and drug free, but it doesnt stop her from experimenting. It hurts to think that this girl would, but she did.

Just because the parents think their child is innocent doesn't mean she didn't experiment especially while on a cruise ship. She wAnted to have fun and she over did it. Plain and simple. Pretty people do drugs too.

I believe the same, she probably took drugs, when drugs are involved, there is no one to blame but the person itself.....my opinion...

She proabably took it thinking it would help her sleep and OD'd. It seems to be pretty straight forward however tragic it may seem. How does methadone get administered? By pill or injection? If by pill it is easily explained. If he hadn't of had it with him maybe she wouldn't have "confused" it for let's say, aspirin but that definately does NOT constitute murder on his part.

Jason's right. Wake up mom and quit blaming t he boyfriend. They CLEARLY loved each other. I mean hey, there's a picture of them sitting in a lawn chair wasted, and she with cigarette in hand. She partied and experimented like all the rest of us. Quit blaming someone just because you THINK someone cant die young. You drink and experiment, that's what you get

Where is the Mystery? Apparently, she consumed the drug after a night of drinking and partying. Typically, when a person is drunk the state of mind is different and they will do thing that they normally would not. She became couragous and decided to give the drug a try, IMO.

Thats just STUPID! Anyone who knows ANYTHING about drugs/drug use knows methadone is 100 Xs more powerful than vicodin- No drug user would use it to detox from vicodin!!!! Somethings just not right-

This is why I run far, FAR away from drug addicts/alcoholics, etc. No good ever comes of having these effing people in your life. It's always drama, horror, pain and horrible things that could have been avoided. Jeff disgusts me. He should have been the one who died. Worthless.

She seem naive and stupid. They had an argument, when he left the room she was prob drunk and she took that med to get attention,to fall asleep or just to be stupid. Saddly she paid the price for messing with a drug she didn't know.. I don't think he had anything to do with. He couldn't force her to drink that and not make noise in a boat. The people next door could have heard. I think is BS. She took it on her own. Females are stupid like that.

@derbyshireism - I don't know if this will be of much help; however, have you ever watched the NBC Crime Mysteries? If you put that [title] in the search engine, you could even copy/paste what I wrote (NBC Crime Mystery) you'll get a lot of good crime stories.

I hope that helped, but yeah, 48 Hours Mysteries, and NBC Crimes are two of the best (the two that I know of anyway).

I can't stand ashley's boy friend, he looks beyond guilty, he is a such a freaking lier!!!!!! he most likely gave her that drug, she overdosed and died and now he is crying it was the worst day of his life! don't bring drugs on board or better don't ever take drugs period! I have a feeling she unknowingly overdosed because her ass b/f introduced her to it that particular night!

Come one, that the BF did not want to speak to her parents is not that STRANGE...

it can be a hard thing to do especially when the parents will have the attitude that He/you are the one who had to take care of her but you didnt and now she is dead..etc etc.etc. but ok, thats my opinion
